We'll be going in Sept for my oldest daughter's b-day. Any idea of a place within walking or a short cab ride that we can get a cake? Sounds like there aren't grocery stores nearby. Baskin-robbins ice cream cake would work too.

Thanks in advance.

How old is DD? She may enjoy the Pat-E-Cake party and decorate her own bday cake?

4 years old. Sounds fun, but I'm not familiar with it. Is it in the park? We'd like to keep costs down if possible as it would be for 8 folks altogether.

There's a bakery at Knott's that sells cakes; the bakery is in the shopping area right outside the park, so you don't have to pay admission.

My daughter will be at Disneyland on her birthday next Monday (she doesn't know yet! We have her suitcase packed and hidden upstairs already -- she's finding out on Sunday morning a few hours before they fly down there!! :yay: ) with another family member... we've arranged for them to eat lunch at Carnation Cafe & to have the personal sized party cake and pirate treasure chest brought to her (there's a choice between a princess jewelry box and the pirate chest, but she'd prefer the pirate one) after she finishes her lunch. It costs $15 and they'll do this at any full-service restaurant in the parks or the restaurants in the on-site hotels.

More info is in the link Hojoanaheim posted.

There's an Albertsons and Vons closeby, and both have bakeries. Since Vons is Safeway, and I like Safeway's bakery (even though what DS can have there is limited), I vote for Vons.

Does sound like fun, but i found a Baskin Robbins on Katella west of DTD. I think I'll just sneak over there at lunch and pick one up. Thanks all.

There's a candy shop in Downtown Disney that sells big cupcakes, not really the same but if you bought several and added your own candles it would seem more extravagant. The Golden Horseshoe in Disneyland sells a huge slice of gooey chocolate cake for $5.00, very huge. Add candles, sprinkles, and a toy topping and bribe Billy Hill and Hillbillies to sing Happy Birthday.

I think this is the 3rd post where I have mentioned the slice of cake, what could this mean  popcorn:: :teacher: :scratchin ?

There is also a Coldstone Creamery at one of the hotels on Harbor across from the main entrance of DL. They have WONDERFUL ice cream cakes! Walking past them every day we were there made me want ice cream, lol.

Have you considered going to Rainforest in DTD for their Volcano? It is huge!!! If you aren't familiar with it, it have about 8 brownies stacked up around a huge mound of vanilla ice cream topped with chocolate syrup and whipped cream. They put a silver foo foo on top. The staff will come out hooping and hollering and sing to her. It costs about $12 and the atmosphere is really fun
