birthday cake at chef mickey's???

Hi! We will be at Chef Mickey's on DD's 9th birthday. I would like to have a cake for her. I've seen on other sites that I can order a 6" celebration cake for $12.50 at the podium. That would be perfect for us....along with the goodies at the buffet!!

Has anyone done this recently? Should I order it ahead or did you just do it on that day? (It said larger cakes needed to be ordered 48 hours in advance.) If so, do I just call Disney Dining? Thanks.....

1) The 6" cakes are ordered when you get to the podium.
2) You do not order them in advance.
3) They just thaw them and serve them.
