I've read that you can get a birthday button to wear if you show it's your birthday. Do all the parks use the same button or are there different buttons for each park? Also - am I confusing buttons with pins? Maybe there are birthday buttons as well [makes not to cross-post this on the collector board]

HELP!

We've been at both Disney World and Disneyland for my dad's birthday (July 4th). At both, he just got stickers. Maybe it's because he was 50+, lol, they might have buttons for kids. He also got to listen to Goofy give him a special phone message. Not sure about different ones for each park, we only went to MK on his birthday.

We'll be getting some this Saturday, so I'll know for sure then. But from what I've read on these boards, there are 2 or 3 types. One for MK and (I think) MGM and a different one for Epcot and (I think) AK. DTD also has a button, but I don't know if it's the same as one of the 2 above or if it's different. If no one responds with a more definitive answer, I will post again when we return on 5/25.

Just spent my birthday at the Magic Kingdom (WDW) last week, May 12th. Upon entering the park we went to City Hall, on left side as you come out of the train tunnel, and picked up my Happy Birthday Button. It is quite a large button (3"+) that pinned to my shirt. All the cast members were great about wishing me a Happy Birthday.....it really helped make the day more magical. I believe each park has a place to pick up a birthday button; not sure if they are different or not.

The buttons are different at all of the parks. We did MK for my DS's 5th bday, and the CM's really do make a fuss over you.

You can pick up a birthday button at Guest Services (right inside the front entrance) of each park. And they don't "proof" you to see if it's your actual birthday! :bday:

We were there last year for my sons 5th birthday (July 27) and he recieved a button from guest services at MK when we were activating our annual passes. While we were walking through MK many cast members wished him a happy birthday but the best part is......while we were waiting on line for Dumbo, a quartette of men came marching by singing and stopped right in front of the line. They said "we hear it is someones birthday on this line....where is the little guy??" He jumped up and the quartette proceeded to sing happy birthday to him as well as all of the people on the line (and as you know, the line for Dumbo can be quite long with tons of people). I still have no idea who tipped them off to his birthday but I assume it was a cast member who saw us waiting on the line and saw his birthday button. Anyhow, it was a great moment and both he and I will remember it forever.

We took my mom on her 69th birthday and they gave her a pin...and it was great--got lots of attention at MK (City Hall pick up) and also later in Epcot they still gave her lots of attention...

The castle one is for MK & MGM. These are free @ Guest Relations & are buttons. Round ones are 3in dia. & Epcot one is 2in x 3in.

Birthday Pins are available to buy all over the parks in multiple designs.

We were at MK for my son's 14th birthday. We picked up the pin at City Hall. Almost every single CM we saw that day said happy birhtday to him. Even some of the CMs in the afternoon parade stopped to say HB, too. It was amazing. At dinner at the Crystal Palace they decorated the table and sent out a birthday card signed by the characters. They brought him out a cupcake with a candle and sang to him. It was a magical day.
We were at EPCOT for my daughter's birthday. We got a pin (different from MK) from the CM at the turnstiles. I think only 2 CM said happy birthday to her. It was a far different experience for her.

everyone says Happy Birthday to you... sometimes you get a free small dessert at table service places... sometimes a CM will give you a front of the line pass for a less popular ride... sometimes nothing... :)
