Birthday Button

I understand that if a family member's birthday falls within the parameters of a vacation stay, that family member can receive a "birthday button" from Guest relations to wear throughout the day.

Does anyone have additional and/or extensive information in regards to this practice?

Sounds like you've got the general idea. I've picked ours up the day before, so as to have the button from the moment the birthday person awakens. It's fun--and gets you lots of "Happy Birthday"s from CMs and guests alike.

(Not that I would know from first-hand experience--only DH and DD have celebrated birthdays at WDW! :sad2: Maybe next year!)

I'm bringing 2 Birthday Girls with me in October... It should be interesting!
DD turns 9 on the 21st of Oct (day before we head to WDW) and DD turns 13 on 11/1 (day after we return home). I'm not going to be able to top that for next years Birthdays! :rotfl:

At first I was only going to have them getting buttons for one day, but see you can get them for each park, if you want to. The middle of the week I will have an "official" B-Day celebration dinner with cake and singing.

I had my MIL wear it last year on her Bday and many magical things happened to her. It was great. If the barbershop quartet is on main street make sure they see the button on your DD's. :earboy2: :earboy2: :earboy2:

Can someone tell me where exactly in each of the parks you can pick up a button? thanks!

AK: Guest Relations window outside the main entrance (to the left, as you're looking at the line of turnstyles) or Guest Relations lobby inside the entrance(just past the line of turnstyles, on the left hand side)

Epcot: Guest Relations window outside the turnstyles at the far right hand end, or Guest Relations lobby inside, just past Spaceship Earth on the left hand side.

MGM: Guest Relations window outside the turnstyles on the left hand side near the kennel, or Guest Relations lobby inside the turnstyles on the left hand side.

MK: Guest Relations Window outside the turnstyles at the far right hand end, or City Hall to the left as you come out from under the Train Station.

Downtown Disney: Either of the 2 guest relations locations. (I'm not as familiar with DTD as I am with the 4 main parks, I can't tell you exactly where the GR locations are)

Note: There are 4 designs of birthday buttons: 1) (circular) Castle Button - issued by MK and MGM --- 2) (circular) Tree of Life Button - issued by AK --- 3) (rectangular) "International Greeting" button - issued by Epcot --- 4) (rectangular) Downtown Disney button - issued by DTD

What about any Guest Relations locations near the International Gateway?

In the Market Place in the Summer Sands area ( they just moved - not 100% on the new location ) and on the West Side by Wetzels.

You can also get the DTD Birthday button anytime from 7:00pm until 2:00am at the Pleasure Island ticket booth ( parking lot side ). The "West Side" PI ticket booth often closes earlier.

I believe there may be a guest relations window on the outside of the turnstyles from the International Gateway entrance, but, I'm not 100% sure if it's a guest relations window or just a ticket sales window. (GR will have the buttons, if it's only a ticket sales window, no buttons, most likely)
