After much fact-gathering, it turns out that my DW and I may not be able to use our dinner reservation for 12 people at Chef Mickey's for our son's first birthday. The reason is that 12 more relatives have decided to come along! I had to go through Group Dining. (Has anyone else had that experience? I felt like I was planning for a bus trip!) It turns out that for a party our size, WDW will only seat us at the beginning or end of a meal shift, and was only offering after 8PM for dinner. That's too late for our little guy since he's usually cranky and in bed by then.

So...

I made 10:30 breakfast arrangements for O'Hana instead. I like the idea of Family Style food vs. buffet for our party size. We were still debating whether or not to reserve Chef Mickey's for breakfast. Keep in mind that we still may go there for dinner with our original small group.

What do you think?

I think you should keep the dinner reservation at Chef Mickey's. Pick the most important people to go with you, like aunts, uncles and godparents.
