Birthday at DLR (adult birthday)

Just curious if there are any bonus things, activities..etc for an adult having a birthday at DLR.

We are going for my Dad's birthday and will be visiting the park on the date of his actual birthday and just curious if there is anything that might be worth looking into to make his birthday extra special.

Unless your father is an extreme introvert, I suggest you get a birthday button for him to wear. You can get them at City Hall and I think a lot of other places. Lots of people will wish him happy birthday!

I went on my birthday and wasn't wowed...some of the restaurants will give you ice cream or something for free. I didn't realize until after I got home that I really wished I'd gotten some cake for my birthday and was disappointed I didn't get any!

There is a little birthday thing at the Plaza Inn where you can decorate a little birthday cake, but it's pricey and really more for kids (it's a tiny cake). I'd suggest you just go somewhere that sells cake (I think the restaurant at the Golden Horsehsoe does) and get him a big slice if he needs cake. LOL

Do something special to make it a memorable day like ride in the Lilly Belle, sit up front on the tender box with the train engieneers or drive the Mark Twain with the captain.

You can order birthday "buckets" to be bought to your table at dinner in any of the proper restraunts (anywhere thats full service, not counter). They are aimed at kids really but arent very expensive - so you could get him one as kind of a joke but also making a fuss of his birthday. You get a decorated bucket, a couple of little gifts and a little cake. Might make him laugh
