Birthday At Chef Mickeys

We are going to Disney in 2 weeks and it will be my sons 5th birthday. We have made a reservation for Chef Mickeys on his birthday night. I was wondering what type of stuff do they do for birthdays there. My son keeps telling me he wants Mickey do bring him a cake. I don't think they will go that far, Will they?

Yes they will, we had a cake for my neice's birthday at Chef Mickeys -- but you have to pre-order it through WDW-DINE. I think it cost $14 or $16. Otherwise if you don't want to spend extra money, I've heard they'll bring out a cupcake with a candle (I guess that's arranged with your server at CM).

We did my daughter's second birthday there...we did not order a cake, but you can like a week or two in advance. Our server brought out the cupcake, the characters did not. The characters did though come over and dance and wave their napkins while they sang happy birthday to her. They also give the kids a laminated placemat for a "gift".

ENJOY...we are going to CM's for my daughters 1st birthday!

We're going in 2 1/2 weeks for my son's 5th birthday too!

DD7 did her birthday breakfast at CM when she was 5. She got the cupcake--at breakfast! The server brought it and Minnie was in our room for that napkin dance, so she came and stood by DD and gave her hugs and kisses. I don't think characters would bring out the cake ever--hard to see and think of the mess/fire potential. Happy birthday to your son and enjoy!
