birth control..?

i am also on it for a health issue
im not on it just cause i dont want to deal with my periods dont worry

i almost went on it about two years ago (13) because my acne was getting really really really bad around my period and i was having to miss school because of cramps and stuff. but my mom wouldn't let me go on it cause it was making her think i was having sex...which i wasn't. and still aren't actually.

but since then it's gotten better so i don't see the reason for me to now really :confused3 I don't plan on having sex for at least a few more years so I guess I'll deal with it and everything then

I'm sorry, I may have just read it wrong.. but isn't the whole reason for birth control is to 'control birth'. It's just a plus that it helps with your period. I am only fifteen, and don't plan on having sex for a while..but if that time comes sooner I'm glad to know that I am protected. I don't think it's wrong for teens to use birth control for its regular purpose. It's a whole lot better than having a bunch of 15/16 year old's with children. I just hope they're not using it to stop from getting pregnant from 15 different guys. It's smart to use it, if you've been with the same person for a while, and you really feel that they are the one. Thats just my opinion.

There are people who are against all methods of birth control when the issue is pregnancy prevention.

I know some people who are like that! (my parents) I don't believe in that.

As soon as i'm engaged, I'm going on BC. No honeymoon babies for me!

:lmao:

that happened to my aunt, she and my uncle went on their honeymoon and they came back and she was pregnant...i was like um wow

Yeah, I mean if its meant to be than thats the way its supposed to go, but I won't even think of going off the pill till I'm done with school. I would imagine it being super difficult being in school AND pregnant.

Its been done, I'm sure, but I don't want that for myself.

I was told by my last OBGYN that if you aren't sexually active and your periods are regular, you don't need to be seen until you turn 21. :)

I had my first papsmear last week and it was ok. A bit uncomfortable, but I got thru it. My doctor was a woman, which helped. She was so reassuring.

I don't know if this was directed towards me, but I think I do have to go to the gyno. I don't really feel comfortable talking about it, my my periods had some weird side effects ever since it started after chemo and it's finally gotten to the point where it really bothers me.
And I thought it was 18? At least it was 4 years ago in 6th grade health.

i dont go to an OBGYN
i havent had problems with that part.
and if something pops up(which nothing has) i would tell my mother.
i honstly dont trust any OBGYN to dig up my VJJ. its gross and u just cant trust EVERYBODY

If it's a girl heck yeah I can trust her. I'm not comfortable with men like that. The only men that will ever see that are my husband and if a man, the OB when I deliver a child.

I mean, I'm not gonna get my mother to look at it for me, and she's not a doctor.
I trust my main doctor, so she would give me a reference to a gyno, who she would trust, and I thinkt hat would be fine.
I really doubt there's a lot of rapist gynos out there lol.
I would prefer a girl, but I'm not gonna throw a fit over it.

its sad when i dont even trust a women except my immedent family
all the sex scandels you just never know
WARNING!:okay totally my opinion im very paranioid about people looking at my VJJ but no one should take this out of hand if they have a problem and not go to the OBGYN.

I'm on the pill, but my dermatologist and endocrinologist both wanted me on it. Derm for my skin, endo because my blood sugar was a rollercoaster ride during my period, and because I was throwing up from my cramps, and that can mean instant ER for me 'cause of the whole diabetes thing. My derm and endo both call it a "hormonal regulator" because that's what I'm using it for.

I'm not on birth control and really don't want to go on it until I absolutely have to (AKA: am sexually active). I don't care if other people are on it tho. I'd rather them be on the pill than get pregnant with a baby they can't take care of. Or, if they don't want to go through the Aunt Flo issues, than why not get something to take care of it if you're brave enough?

The only reason why I don't want to get put on it until absolutely necessary is mainly because...the idea of getting that whole 'women examination' thing freaks me out. If I'm not comfortable letting some one I love see that part of me yet, then there is NO WAY I would be comfortable letting a complete stranger get down there.

And even though it may not be as bad if you relax...that's really hard for me to do in a doctors office. I'm naturally a very nervous person and get terrified every time I have an appointment with any kind of doctor (which, honestly, I know is ridiculous. I've been through more than a lot of people my age have (including 3 brain surgeries, physical therapy and multiple CT's and MRI's) and yet I still get terrified every time I even go in for a simple visit to the dentist. :scared: )

Yeah....personally...I'd rather wait and just deal with the cramping every month. *is a chicken*

We don't have to see a gyno here to get BC.
Go to a regular doctor (probs even a clinic) and they'll give you a prescription.
I love my pharmacist, I didn't have a new prescription when I ran out of refills, but they gave me three extra packs anyways.

Nope, it's 21. I haven't been yet but I have had sex...I'm just not sexually active right now.

I don't want to go but I haven't been having any problems so I don't feel a need to right now.

Yea, here you can go to planned parenthood and get birth control.

I mentioned earlier where I got mine, but if you go to a dermatologist, they can prescribe it, and so can a lot of specialist docs like my endo. She's the one who actually gave me the prescription. Oh yeah, I just started on it, I'm 16 1/2. Regulation is the only reason I use it.

if you have had sex, you need to have a papsmear, even if you're not currently having sex.

I know...

its not that bad really. i was there in january, and the pap smear takes less time than responding to my post did. and it is less uncomfortable than menstrual cramps. its really not something to avoid, just for safety reasons. (even if you don't have an std, maybe you have a yeast infection or something. they can also look to make sure everything appears as normal down there.)

i would advise going, if at all possible.
