BIRTH CONTROL...girls only question.

I would start the pills asap since you don't want to feel any ill effects from the pill due to your body getting adjusted to the medicine. Good luck.

I have a similar question. I have a prescription for Micronor - progesterone only pill for nursing mothers. I'm no longer nursing, and we've had a surgery ... but this is what my prescription is for and I am able to get 2 packs before the end of the year (we've met our deductible). Does this method work with the minipill? Is 2 packs enough? I'd hate to have to spend almost $50 a pack to get the combination pill to manipulate my period for WDW.

Thanks in advance!

I've been on the pill for over a year and I thought I'd be able to skip my period when we went down in October by taking two months consecutively with no placebo. It didn't work for me - not sure if it was because I'm on a low dose, or because of all the stress my body was under at the time, but I wound up getting the worst period I've ever had - it lasted 13 days!!!

Just be aware that sometimes it takes a month for your body to recognize that you're on the pill, so you might get your period anyway.

Anyone that can get this to work I envy you!!! When I tried this I end up getting my period for 2 weeks for the next 2 months. It was horrible, I will never try that again!!

Did you or pooh_friend#1 ever try this before or was it your first time to try this?? I have done it several times before but I've been off the pill for a while. I think I'll be ok since I've done it before, but I'll be prepared anyway. I started back on the 11th and I'm sure glad I took that advice because I've had stomach problems. (I'm over them now! )

I have been on the pill (desogen) for 4 years and I have tried it probably once every year and it NEVER works for me.

I have been on BC pills for over 5 years now and only have 4-5 periods a year. I take Ovcon 50 and it took me about 6 months for my body to adjust to not having a period every month. I take my pills for 2 or 3 months then have a period. I can even adjust this by a few weeks if I need to. But, like I said, it did take a while for things to work out to this point. I am well past any chance of getting preg, I do this just for period control.
