My adult sons certified state issued birth certificate was issued in 1987 It does not list us (his parents) but has all other information. Will this be accepted for a closed loop cruise? at that time they didn’t list parents.
My guess is that as long as the document is state-issued (not hospital-issued) and has your son's current name, it's OK, but that is just a guess. I recommend calling Disney Cruise Line to ask. Even if someone did sail with a birth certificate without parental names, that doesn't mean that someone else would be able to if the policy requires names.

That sounds like a "short form" BC. Have you checked whether a "long form" certificate is available?
That said I found this online:
A state issued short-form birth certificate is generally accepted for "closed-loop" cruises (starting and ending in the same U.S. port) when accompanied by a valid government issued photo ID. The certificate must be an original or certified copy from the Department of Health and Vital Statistics, containing the holder's name, date of birth, and parents' names.
