I saw my cat freaking out at the window this morning. Here's why:

Also around at that time an American robin and a little blue heron.

I love it when the Wax wings arrive. That is when Spring is truely here. (Robins hang around all winter here. :confused3 The wax wings blow through here in about two days, picking every remaining berry from every tree/shrub in the place. then they're gone. :sad2: Such pretty birds.

Thanks so much! I'm a birder who couldn't wait to see my first cedar waxwing. They don't come this far south, so it would really be a feat to see one. Finally saw my first (and my hundred and first!) at HH last year. They're as beautiful as I expected.

Oh WOW! Send em down here. You know I"ve seen flocks of birds of their size but haven't been able to get a good look at them. Maybe that's what I've been seeing.

I'll have to keep my binoculars handy.

This is the first I have seen them this year. Florida is in their winter range. I wonder if they are getting together to herad North...

That is funny that we typically think of Robins as a Spring bird, but in reality, most of the US is in their "All year" range.

I remember my professor saying that the Common Grackle was a better indicator of Spring, at least in New Hampshire. The problem is a lot of the Southest US and Midwest are also in the all year range.

I don't think birds are very good indicators of Spring. Heck, that sill groundhog is terrible too. :)
