At Disney each of us had a different character on our passes. It was easy to know who should use which when entering. There will be 2 adults and 2 children in a few weeks, all the passes look the same, should I mark them with initials or does it not matter whcih one gets scanned by who?

One more question..:)

What time are the rooms usually ready and will they hold your luggage like Disney, if you wish to go to a park while you wait?
Thanks!

I've seen plenty of families enter together and just hand the ticket to the TM with no problems.

all 3 hotels will hold your luggage once you check in if your room is not ready.
rooms are ready officially by 4pm.

there are times you can get a room at 8 in the morning when you check in, or be able to get into your room around noon time.

if the hotel was sold out the night before you come, it would probably be in the afternoon if you requested a certain floor or room.

when you check in you will receive your hotel keys. go to the park and enjoy your time there.
you can give your cell number and the front desk will call you when your room is ready

you don't have to check into the front desk for key room activation when you come back from the park. the front desk will tell you your room number and have the keys activated already

I'd wait until you enter the turnstiles and make sure that two of the child's tickets don't scan as children's tickets. You wouldn't want to initial them and then have to switch them around at the turnstile. Once the biometrics are set for each ticket when you go through the turnstiles, then initial them so you don't get them mixed up.

Thanks all..so they will be personalized once used? Do you mean make sure the adult tickets don't scan as child's? I will definately initial them..check in time and luggage holding is the same as Disney then..thanks all..Ridiculous that I am obsessing about this first Universal trip :scared1: but I think it is because I can navigate Disney so easily now...

Even though the tickets look alike, you probably have 2 adult tickets and two child's tickets. I'm not positive about that but in the past some of the tickets looked alike but, when they scanned the tickets at the turnstiles, they read as either child or adult. Since you can't tell them apart, don't sign them yet. If you sign the child ticket and try to enter the turnstile, it may show it as child's ticket.

My suggestion is this: When you go through the turnstiles the first time, let them know you don't know which are the child's tickets and which are the adult. They can sort it out for you and make sure you have the correct ticket. Once you go through the turnstile, the biometrics will be associated with each ticket. That is the time you will want to initial the tickets so you don't get them mixed up. The next time you enter, the biometrics will need to match and so you don't want them mixed up.

Of course, the tickets may all be the same for both the adults and the children. Last year when the child's free tickets first came out, there was no difference between the adult and child ticket. Then a few weeks later, they changed it so that the children's tickets scanned at the turnstiles as child's free tickets. I'm not sure if there is a difference between the child and adult on the 7 day tickets or not though.

We didn't have to do the biometric scans. We were at Islands of Adventure today and only one turnstyle had the biometric scanners, the rest of the lines just scanned the ticket and let you in.

Sometimes, they don't use the biometrics but, most of the time, they do.

They didn't even have the biometric scanners set up this pst week and a half. Yesterday was the first time we saw it being done, and it was only at one turnstyle. It goes by so much faster without them!
