Biometric finger scan - will it slow down park entry?

The second biggest thing to slow people down are those that speak little to no English and look at the CM completely confused about having to put their fingers on the machine. I'm not sure what they think is going to happen to their fingers, but the look on their faces is like they are being asked to sacrifice a digit!

I agree, this will likely be the biggest slow down of all.

Thanks for your thoughts on this.

Simba's Mom reported that she didn't see any difference when she was recently at WDW - anyone else just back who'd care to comment?

I had a problem with my AP once and the CM at the turnstile eventually let me in without my fingers being scanned, then I couldn't obtain FastPasses because the system didn't know I was in the park. I ended up exiting the park (MGM) and going back thru the turnstile successfully just so I could get FastPasses. Moral -- make sure your ticket is accepted at the turnstile if you intend to use FastPass.

I went into MK & MGM yesterday and could not tell any difference. If anything, less of a back up because they have more machines.

DH used his new PAP for the first time yesterday and still had trouble. We have no idea why, but it is always his card and at MK where he has trouble with his card not being read. (He has not had to show ID yet.)
He use to say it was the machines on the right side. But yesterday he even used a machine on the left. :confused3

We have had APs for years and it really is not a problem. Just look at the little lights, if one is not lit up lightly squeeze your finger where it shows the light is not lit. It works every time.

That's the one glitch in the system that I have noticed. The new machines no longer have that little red-dotted trangle, just a white light. I never have a problem using my AP, but the old red-light thingy was helpful when I was first learning the system.
