i read somewhere that they have bingo on the ship. i know there is no gambling on the ship -

do they play for prizes or just for fun

They play for MONEY. There is no casino only gambling is the Bingo

I think that all (or most) of the money collected goes into the prizes. They say that they "have" to give the money away and it can not be carried over. That doesn't sound like Disney makes anything off this.

When you are playing against other players money, it isn't called "gambling"...it's only when you play against "house" money (i.e. Las Vegas) then it would be gambling. the money you would win is another players money pooled into one. in horse racing terms, it's called pari-mutuel, during the Superbowl, it's called the office pool.

That's why in Bingo, they say the JACKPOT MUST GO. The house cannot keep any of it.
