I've never played Bingo on the ship as there is so much to do elsewhere, but I just spoke to a friend of mine who was on a RoyalCarribian Cruise last week. He played the jackpot bingo and won!!! $8000.00!! Yes! Eight thousand dollars!

I was wondering just how high those jackpots go? And have any of you won?

8 grand!? Dang......I'll play bingo if the jackpot is that high!
I dont recall it being that high on our Monarch cruise, or I would have played Bingo rather then Roulette. LOL

*runs off to buy those little bingo dabber thingys*

On the Magic I have seen the Jackpot get up to $5,000... never won though....The host Robin is a hoot and keeps the games very entertaining!!!!! The jackpot keeps rolling over, so the last game of the week has the big bucks!!!

I've always wondered how this worked on the ship. I know they kept talking about how big the jackpot was at the end of the week. What about the rest of the week? How do they determine how much you win if you happen to get Bingo on Monday or Wednesday?

I never played on the Wonder or Magic either, but I always wondered how it worked. Do you have to play everyday? Just what is the procedure. I sure wouldn't want to spend everyday doing that regardless of jackpot. Too much better stuff to do.

You can play as little or as much as you like. A lot of people only play the last Jackpot game, which rolls over every session if no one wins it. They have about 5-6 games per session and most are in the $100 or so range (if I remember correctly) and they tell you how much can be won before the game begins. The last game of the session is the Jackpot game, where you have to cover your card in a certain amount of numbers or less (say it starts at 48). If no one wins (which is hard), then it rolls over to the next session and they draw an additinal number. If no one has won by the last day, they draw numbers until it is won. On our 4 day cruise, it was raining the first morning so I went to Bingo. It was really fun so I went a few more times. At the last session, the Jackpot was $3100 and I won it. It was very exciting as it was the largest 4 day jackpot they had ever had at that time. On the 7 day cruise, a friend of a friend won $7000. Never won anything in my life and I figure that's going to be it. :D

wow! that would be great to win. You could pay for your next cruise! i went on one of the days on my last wonder cruise, i didn't win anything but it was fun and the cruise staff were a hoot. I found it to be something nice i could do alone, My DH and Dkids had played in the pool most of the day and they were taking a nap. Julie

on your Jackpot Bingo win DopeysGal !! ;)

I squeezed in some time to go and play bingo on my Halloween Wonder cruise, and had a blast! Unfortunately, I was ONE number from winning the jackpot which was $600 on our cruise  Actually, I was one number away on another game too. It was too funny on the 1st game of the night, because the first person to holler BINGO misunderstood which spaces made up that bingo. The CM's again explained which spaces had to be covered, and continued to call numbers. THREE more times we had people holler BINGO and they too misunderstood!! I thought the CM's were going to bust!! It was sooo funny....

I encourage everyone to try to make it to at least one bingo game while on board - it is FUN !

Happy cruising.......................

Thanks. The first time we played on our cruise, I got distracted and thought I had a bingo when I didn't. It was very embarrassing. So when I did have the bingo at the final game, I was almost too afraid to yell it, in case I had made a mistake again. If you don't say it before they call another number, you don't win so I figured better safe than sorry.
My first thought after winning was to just see if I could give the money back and stay on the cruise for another 3 days but instead I came home and paid off my Visa card. How responsible of me  I also took a trip to the gift shop but there really wasn't anything I couldn't live without.
I agree that everyone should play once while onboard..it is fun.

The initial games of the week are "small" money. Generally something like this:

First game $25
Second game $35
Third game $45
Fourth game $55
Jackpot game either the entire jacport $65 or if it rolls

Then as more people play, the stakes increase (it all depends on how many players there are)

First game $60
Second game $80
Third game $100
Fourth game $120
Jackpot game either the entire jackport or $140 if it rolls

Getting close to the end of the cruise, more and more people play. Therefore, the prizes are much larger. Maybe something like this for the last game

First game $200 - $300
Second game $265 - $400
Third game $330 - $500
Fourth game $395 - $600
Jackport game $3000 - $7000 depending on length of cruise and number of players

If you bingo SOLO - you win the entire amount
If there are multiple Bingos - you split the above amounts.

On the last cruise I won 3 games for a total of $190 and one of the other people I cruised with won $719 during 3 games. She just had better timing.

And yes - Robin (on the Magic) is a riot - and April is simply charming!

When I played on the Wonder it was $35 for 3 cards/5 games (which included the jackpot game). You also had the option to purchase 1 card/5 games (I think this was $20), or you could just purchase for the jackpot game. You could also puchase extra cards for the jackpot game. I don't remember how much it was to just purchase for the jackpot game though.

Do play while you are on board, it is alot of FUN!!! :p

Actually, here is the pricing

$10 one card for each of the 5 games
$20 for three cards for each of the 5 games (meant to be played by one person)
$35 for six cards for each of the 5 games (again, meant for one person, only offered at later sessions during the cruise)

$10 for three extra jackpot bingo cards (meant to be played by one person)

On our Oct. cruise, my DD, Meg (who had just turned 18 the day before and was playing for the 3rd time in her life) won the jackpot game and won $231.00. She went back later that day and won again $107.00!! It was an extra special birthday cruise for her! :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

sorry, thebecka

I think I used up all my pixie dust. :) My son is actually the lucky one, always winning raffles and such. He told me to make sure I had 9 cards (3 cards of 3) for the jackpot and sure enough, the 9th card was the one that had the bingo (he was 9 at the time). Can't wait until he can start playing the lottery :bounce:
