I am in the middle of cleaning my scrapbook room, I couldn't even walk in there without killing myself LOL so far I have thrown out 5 bags of trash.
My swaps were in bins, the larger titles would bend and then I would forget what I had because I didn't want to go searching. I had a bin for every park, 2 or 3 for characters etc. I NEEDED a better way to keep my swaps, one day I was lurking here and saw the organizing challenge. I read about someones GENIUS idea about binders so I figured what the heck let me give them a try (I tried everything else).
I'm still in the process of redoing my room but I thought I'd show you what I have accomplished so far using that GENIUS idea.
I had swaps in 4 black plastic tubs, in 4 square PO boxes (1 not shown) and 2 or 3 Large flat rate boxes (not seen in this photo)

each binder has a border instead of words to represent what's inside. Dining, Mickey & Friends, Pooh & Friends, Princess & Friends (in Snow White section I would have Snow White, Prince, Dopey and Evil Queen and so on and so forth for each Princess), the 1 with no border at this moment are just holding anything that doesn't fit into the other categories such as Resorts, Downtown Disney, transportation etc., 2 books for MK-1st the lands and castle stuff and 2nd has rides only, 1 for AK, 2 books for HS-1st has Streets and Hat stuff and the 2nd has rides only, 2 for Epcot 1st WS and the 2nd Future World.
These binders hold a total of 209 swaps. I have about 75 more to put in binders. Other Characters such as Mulan, Peter Pan etc and then I have 2 kit swaps that consist of 39 kits in total.
After I reorganized all the swaps I printed out a list of all the swaps I have (so far only those in binders). The swaps are in order according to my list so I always know where something is in my binder. When I'm ready to scrap I look at my list to see if I have a swap for the page, if I do I grab a binder, use the swap then cross it off my list.
Just so you know I got the 2" binders for $5 at target and the 1 1/2" binders at the dollar store for $1.45. I could have gotten 2" and 3" ones for around $2.00 at the dollar store but I wanted all white and they only had 1 1/2" binders in white. I didn't want to spend a lot of money just in case it didn't work out like my other ideas LOL
I still need a 3" binder for the "other" character book and another 2" one for the kit swaps.

Notice there is nothing on top of the wire shelves (well there is a clear plastic tub and a bag that is going to my mom. the yellow and green thing is empty). I had layout and layouts piled everywhere. I don't' put layouts in books until I'm done with that year trip so now I have a shelf for each project I'm working on.
Anyway the reason for this email is to the person who came up with the binder idea. Genius pure Genius. Thank you Thank you Thank You
