Bin Laden - celebrations

Obviously it's a waste of time to try to rationally explain things to some of you on this thread. You people read posts and completely twist them around to the point of perversion.

So now we're perverts? :lmao:

:confused3 What makes you think they wouldn't?

Oh wait...

Don't have much faith in our military? Amiright?

I'm pretty sure luvsjack meant that they may have cracked open a few beers.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

And played some Toby Keith songs.

I can understand why someone would think they might not. Remember the pictures that were released of the POW's stacked in a pyramid while US soldiers were laughing?

I'm not saying they wouldn't but I can see how someone would think that there just might be a chance, that's all.

At least they had their heads attached and could laugh.

ETA- Not saying it was right. Saying there were plenty of atrocities.

I'm retired, I can do this all day long. However, it's getting really old, so I'm off to find something better to occupy my time. :flower3:

And the people responsible were investigated and charged. In fact when the story was leaked to the media the investigation was already underway.

In any institution there are bad apples but a good institution, like the U.S. Military deals with those bad apples.

Exactly. I am going to venture to guess that they were very respectful while they needed to be--as our military always is. and then they celebrated--as they had a right to do.

I feel it's hypocritical to try and call out someone who's doing the same thing you are! That's all.

He disagreed (strongly) with the opinion of the Dixie Chicks and they disagreed with his. It definitly went both ways. And many people agree with him. They should not have apologized for our president or have said they were "ashamed" of being from Texas (bet Texas loved that!) because he was from there. They sounded stupid, disrespectful and disloyal to the US.

I agree. I was just trying to explain why someone would hope that they treated the corpse with respect.

Okay, can someone fil me on Toby Keith?

Sorry to be naive about what he said or did...

Toby Keith thought Natalie Maines of the Dixie Chicks was out of line for the comment she made about being ashamed that Dubya was from Texas - so he played some concerts in front of a doctored image of Natalie and Saddam Hussein. I guess he was showing her how much he thought of her right to express herself. What a class act!! :lmao:

Sorry about being :offtopic:

Or, you just didn't agree with them. Why do they have be stupid, disrespectful and disloyal to the US because they didn't agree with you?

I support the military, I love patriotic songs, I have flown the American Flag on my house since 9/11.... and i supported the DIxie Chicks Right to their Freedom of Speech....

I abhor the assumption that just because my opinion is different than yours.. that I am any less American or any less of a Patriot !

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

No, I think what people are saying is that if he can express is opinion, than he shouldn't be a hypocrite and condemn those who do the same.

His opinions and issues with Natalie Maines came from much more than her comments about Bush. Before calling him a hypocrite (not saying I agree or disagree), lets remember it all started when Maines called his song "Courage of the Red, White and Blue".."I hate it. It's ignorant, and it makes country music sound ignorant. ' . That was the previous year to her comments about Dubya.

Its not about agreeing with them. There is a time and a place for everything and that was not the time nor the place for those remarks. She should have kept her mouth shut. And she is an idiot regardless.

Well, I disagree so we'll just leave it at that. :goodvibes

yeah, then she publically wore a t-shirt that said F.U.T.K. She's no prize either!

True. But what she took exception to was his line about kicking some Iraqi a**. And I agree with her comment.
