Bill O'Reilly - I cant be the only one!

It fascinates me: the conservative people that are all for familly value , and the war on christmas etc , actually are listening and giving credit to a guy who sexually harrased one of his employe ! A president is found with is pants down with another consenting adult , and 8 years of office are worth nothing , but a conservative commentator is proven to harras ( and I've read the transcripts and you could be banned from the Dis with only one sentence from those transcripts) and the guy is held as a paragon of conservatism ! I am amazed !

The guy yeld a participant of his show who's father died in the WTC to shut-up ! That is respect for the victims and there family ! But It sure makes great TV !

Did anyone see when David Letterman had him on the show? I am not a fan of O'Reily and I actually LOVE David Letterman :cloud9: But I thought Letterman was out of line. He had a guest on just to rip him apart. He was rotten to Bill O'Reilly.
I was so mad at myself that I missed that night! I LOVE Letterman as well. Then the next day, I had the Oreily email and there was a link to the video so I watched it. I could not believe my eyes! I have never seen Letterman act that way. It made me uncomfortable just watching it. O'reily held his own though.

To paraphrase David Letterman on O'Reilly, I think 60% (or more) of what he says is c*@p.

And just like Letterman, you give no evidence to back that up.

Can't stand Bill O'Reilly, but I love Stephen Colbert. Anyone watch the Colbert Report? He does a great imitation of Bill O. every night. :rotfl:

Along the same lines, O'Reilly has a chapter on Sex in his O'Reilly for Kids book. Irony at its finest.

The only thing ironic is that nothing was proven. If she had such a strong case, with tapes and everything ,then it would have went to court and she would have got a lot more money. Adults talk in sexual explicit terms all the time. If you're friends, it's all a matter of context. This seems like a woman who enjoyed light banter with Bill O for years, and then felt jilted when she was demoted or whatever happened to her.

Come to think of it, the other irony is liberals and their "innocent until proven guilty" mantra being hypocrites and hanging Bill O. for something for which he was not proven guilty.

I have NEVER in my life sat around with my employer and talked about the things that he apparently did with her.

The Smoking Gun has the court documents, she had a good case, if it hadn't been such a strong case O'Reilly wouldn't have settled it and then kept the settlement sealed.

I loved Jon Stewart & O'Reilly :cool1: Jon Stewart is such a breath of fresh air sometimes :rotfl:

Bull. She would have been wrapped up in a court case for years and it would have had her life consumed with it. She would have had her life picked apart for that entire time. Sorry. He did something very inappropriate and he paid the price. So, she made a choice to get the best of all worlds. Out him as the slime that he is and avoid a few stressful years in and out of court.

Bottom line is Bill being the stubborn SOB that he is would never have paid the money if there was no truth to the story. Stop making like he is a victim, 'kay?

He probable settled for the same reasons you justify for her.

Classic he said, she said. Many in the media and public opinion are going to consider you guilty until proven innocent -- and even then, people accross the nation will have seen details of your private live and make up there own mind anyway. Your assumption that he is slime is an example of such.

Sorry, but the tapes and the payoff speak volumes.

Suffice it to say, what he did was wrong on many levels - whether or not you believe what he did was criminally wrong.

My "assumption" that he is slime? I don't know what your definition is - but a man trying to have an affair when he has a wife and kids at home is slime - regardless of whether what he did contituted harrassment.

So you're saying you're a fan of his?

O'Reilly is GREAT! He believes what he says, and has no qualms about it. I like the fact that he doesn't care whether you agree with what he believes or not, and doesn't let that change his beliefs. That's true conviction. Too many people are swayed by what others think, and he's definitely not one of them, which is refreshing, IMO. Whether you agree with him or not, you have to admire the fact that he sticks to his guns and doesn't beat around the bush.

On ABC's Good Morning America on 18 March 2003, referring to weapons of mass destruction, O'Reilly said "If the Americans go in and overthrow Saddam Hussein and it's clean, he has nothing, I will apologize to the nation, and I will not trust the Bush administration again."

I wish he was a man of his word but he obviously isn't, nor does he "stick to his guns" as evidenced by the above quote. He is a Bush apologist, and that could be one of the reasons why many of the right wing posters in this thread seemingly hold this particular adulterer in such high esteem.

.

**If you watched him*** <ahem> you'd know he fully admits he feels mistakes were made in the administration regarding this war.

And, **If you watched him*** <ahem> he's actually never made any political affiliation.

Wrong again, CathrynRose...I do watch him from time to time (mainly as a humorous mental exercise to spot the contradictions and many flaws in his arguments). You don't believe he's a Bush apologist, but the last part of that quote is "I will not trust the Bush administration again." He's certainly contradicted himself with those words many, many, many times on both his TV and radio shows.

This is getting ridiculous. I could care less whether or not a tv personality is shagging every girl on the east coast. He makes valid points on his show, and his ego is entertaining. To me that is all that matters.

I disagree with him strongly on the rap issue, but overall I think he is a great American thinker.
