My DF and I are Cuban-Americans. Most of our families (including DF's parents) do not speak English. I was just wondering if anyone on the board has had a bilingual officiant that they would recommend. Thanks! princess:

Hey-

If you want to PM me with your private email, I can send along the officiant list. I didn't take a close look at it becuase my aunt is doing our ceremony. I am sure they have run into this before. You can put a feeler out to the officiants (who may be able to recommend someone not on the list) or inqure with your EM once you start the full swing of planning.

Another option that I have seen done is that the couple does an extensive and detailed wedding program in two languages for their guests for the secitons of the ceremony that will be in the other language. I've been to two ceremonies like this; however, they exchanged vows in both languages. A normal, hand-made, home-done program is time consuming. If you were looking into this as an option, I would say start early and enlist the help and support of family and your wedding party.

I would contact your EM, i know when i went for my site visit someone else mentioned a spanish speaking officient so hopefully they would be able to recomend one! Good luck!
