Biking trail that leads you to a view of MK?

Way back in the early 80's, there was a bike trail at FW that led you to a dead end (near TTC, if I remember as a kid) that gave you a view of the castle ...is this still there? Anyone have a picture from there?

But I think there is a trail to WL, not sure if the trail you are referring to still exists or not.

I'm afraid the trail in no longer there with Wilderness Lodge now around...but even if that is the case, I'd love to see pictures...I'll eventually dig my folk's old pictures out, which may have a shot...I think I remember seeing one years ago.

Yea, the trail is still there, it actually ends on the east side of the road across from the TTC. With the lodge there now though and all the trees, you can no longer see the Magic Kingdom (at least last time I was down there), I don't think it goes as far as it used to.

You used to be able to drive your golf carts down there, was one of my favorite things to do as a kid. Now only joggers/bikes are allowed down there, oh, and the horse carriage rides will go back down that path sometimes as well (although not all the way to the end).

Was the WL area anything before it was WL? Was it an open field, full of trees?? It seems like I had seen a picture from this area with the Contemporary, and MK in the background. Were there some topiaries around here up on a hill?????? Way before my time, appreciate any input.

Yea, was just full of trees, but when they put the WL and all the adjoining landscaping it pretty much blocked all the views. Before, you would come to the end of the trail and you could see both the Contemporary and the MK in the background. The trail pretty much ended suddenly and there was a road I believe that crossed in front of you. There is a lot more trees and landscaping blocking the view now, you can't see anything anymore.

The trail ended at a main (automobile) road. There were posts at the end of the trail I believe. I too would love to go do it again...I only remember doing it once as a kid...oh well. I've got to dig up those pictures.

We *tried* riding our bikes down this trail to get to the WL. The path now has A LOT of sand that gets deep in some areas...so much so that we had to hop off of the bike and push, ha. We chose to take the cement jogging trail back....very nice ride!

There is still a trail that takes you next to the lake you will have to look for the path but it is there.

Yea, but this isn't the same trail that used to take you to that gorgeous view of the Contemporary and the the MK. Man, I can see it in my head right now, and at night, that was such a great ride. Guess some things will just have to remain in memory
