I had my kids tip $5 when they wanted to head back to the resort early. For the whole family, $10. I tend to be a good tipper - maybe it's the guilt of having people do things for me that I can do myself. But I'd say $5 would be a good standard. I'm embarrassed that some people don't tip at all.
Just returned from a stay at RPH. While I also prefer walking, we used the bike taxi twice while there and have used them several times during vacations to other locales. For the relatively short distance from CityWalk to RPH I tipped $5 for two of us. For longer distances or if we were to have a group of 3 - 4 then I would tip $10. It's true that the drivers work on tips alone.
Given how much we were in a hurry for WWOHP in the morning and we were at PB, it was totally worth it to take the pedi-cabs! They told us they work completely off of tips. My daughter loved taking them so much that she used her 'own money' for the rides The first time we took them, our family of 4 split into 2 pedi-cabs. But we realized they could take all 4 of us so we did that after that first ride. We tipped $5 - $10 depending on the people in the pedi-cab, how far they took us, and how much we enjoyed the ride. If they work on tips, then you pay according to what the service is. If they are slow or not nice, you might not tip as much. But I would tip something!
i would be embarrassed if someone in my group did not tip the pedi cabbers.
i have heard some say they have never tipped nor will they tip as the stay on site is costly to them.
the hotels have nothing to do with the pedicabbers.
they do not pay them.
they will tell you there is no charge.
if asked, they will tell you they work for tips only.
can you imagine working those pedicabs during the hot, humid summer heat and receive nothing but a smile?
in the theme park areas, tips are a big part for the service that is provided to you.
thanks for the replies guys!! It was just my husband and I and we ended up tipping 6 dollars each time(hard rock to citywalk). Met some really nice bikers too...
I can not imagine anyone thinking it is acceptable to not tip them... that is aweful!!
Dh tends to be a big tipper, especially for people who are providing a good service and are relying solely on tips. So, on a trip back to PBH for the two of us, we tipped $25. When it was the four of us going back to PBH in the rain, we tipped $40.

We always tipped $5 a person and just couldn't see only giving $1 or nothing at all cause we are always on tight budget but could never be that cheap or cold
