Is there bike racks near the ferry where we can ride bikes and leave them while we are in the parks?
Do we need locks?
Is there a rule against riding bikes at night?
If not, are the roads in the campground well lit or will we need lights on bikes at night?

Bike rack at dock. You will go through golf cart parking area, then as you go through fence onto the beach the racks are on your right and left.
I am not aware of a nighttime ban on bikes. If there is one, I broke it. For the most part the roads are lit around loop entrances and the populated areas like the Meadows.

I ride my bike every day at FWC, several times/day. Yes, there are bike racks at the marina where the boats go back and forth to the Magic Kingdom. Also at the front where the buses take you to the other theme parks. I lock up my bike, why tempt fate? Riding after dark? Always have lights at both ends of your bike! Be safe, have a magical vacation!

Definitely use a lock. The security will stop you if you don't have lights front and back at night.

Yes, this! Things can get stolen (even at Disney ;))

Also, as above, lights ARE required. It is VERY unsafe and irresponsible not to have them after dark. We were almost hit by a cyclist one time there.

Road lighting at night is terrible so a good head light is advisable.

Under 16, helmets are required but good idea for all to wear them.

Is there a place there you can rent or use helmets?

The Bike Barn has helmets for their bike rentals. Maybe someone knows if they'll rent the helmet. If not you could call.

Definitely make sure you have lights or the Rangers will stop you. Also, locks are a must, too much stuff goes missing at the Fort these days. I always lock up our bikes.

I was just there two weeks ago and the lighting at night is terrible. Why they don't light the path up coming from the back of Meadow Trading Point area/ boat dock up to at least the first or second loop heading towards loop 800 is beyond me. It's so dark in that area that even walkers should use a flashlight.

Bike lights are required, I had one front and back as well as battery lighted Christmas wreath on front. Hubby's front light stopped working on this trip, but his back light still worked. We never got stopped. We also left our bikes for about 4 hours at the boat dock and didn't lock them up. But, some nice person placed a half empty popcorn bag in my water bottle holder. Some people....the resort was pretty empty when we left the bikes for that long so I felt safe in doing so.

The fort is an excellent place to teach your kids bike safety and biking rules and more parents should do so. It's safe enough environment that you can do this even with the pedestrians and vehicle traffic as the vehicles are required to go slow (their is even a digital speed o'meter now on the main road towards the pet play area). And personally, I know you are suppose to ride on the road, but I think little kids should be told to ride on the sidewalks until they are old enough to grab the concept that their bike is considered a vehicle just like a car.

Grab your bike lights, helmet for the youngsters and have fun looping!
