Bike rental cost @ HH

According to the members' website, the bike rental at HH is $50/pp for length of stay. That seems like a big increase from last year. Or is my memory bad? I thought last year it was only $25 pp in March. And I thought that I'd read that in February there was even more of a discount. That's one reason why we chose to go in February this coming year. Is it always $50 pp and I just don't remember right? Or are there bigger discounts from that at various times of the year? Anyone who remembers what they paid recently?

It was definitely $25/person last March, and the past several years. After the first 2 people, then it was $10/person for the rest of your party, for the length of your stay.

If it's up to $50/person now, that just mean's I'll be booking bike rentals from one of the many offsite places - they'll deliver the bikes to me before I arrive, and pick them up after I leave.

Last time my DW and 2 DD's went It was so expensive to rent the bikes for all four of us that we went over to the local Wa-mart and we bought 4 nice bikes $8.00 less than the lenth of stay rental would of cost! And I did a little investigating and I found a local charity that was more than happy to come pick them up on the day of our checkout. Just something to think about!

The cost of the rentals is absolutely dependent on the time of year that you are visiting. This makes sense as HH is much more active in the summer than in the winter. I think the cost last year when I visited for NYE was around $15 per bike for the stay. The $50 cost in the summer is much less reasonable and the Wal-Mart strategy employed by the other poster was creative and generous. Having said that, I always bring my own bikes!
