Bike lock for buggy

Hiya,

I've read that its a good idea to bring bike lock to secure buggy to railing while we are queueing/on rides/eating etc.

Can anyone recommend a good but cheap bike lock?

We've used a buggy on our last two trips and never used a bike lock. Just parked it up and took any valuables, we've had no trouble!

We take a lock and lock ours up.

I just got a cheapish one off amazon to take with us.

we bought one of these a few years ago - you can also use it on suitcases etc. Not really that loud but enough to scare someone away. That being said, we lost a balloon either due to the wind or theft while we were on flying carpets and it's so sensitive, it must have been going off.

We use one although at times DH couldn't be bothered to put it on and said it'll be fine. I've heard of people catching others walking off with their buggy though and even if it was by accident we'd be up wotsit creek without a buggy!

We just bought a cheap one, think it was £2 in a cheap hardware type shop. It could be cut off quite easily if someone really wanted it but it's a deterrent at least and no one could take it by accident.

You are not supposed to chain your buggy to anything in the park as the CM's have to able to move them at all times incase of emergencies

Outside in the Village like at Café Mickey you can and I would as they are stolen from here on occasion

As we know the CMs at DLP are anything but consistant

you only have to look at the smoking threads to see that

Does anyone know if you'd lose your deposit if someone walked off with the one you hired?

We took an old buggy last time, parked it next to a nicer one so it didn't look as appealing This time we will take a bike lock though, I was amazed at the number of expensive buggies (Phil and Teds, Bugaboos etc) that were left without any security!

I think we'll definitely be bringing a lock with us. Not because the buggy we're bringing is particularly high value but because if it does go for a walk we'll be up a creek without a paddle! Although our 'travel' buggy is lime green so it'd be hard for it to go far unnoticed.....

Think I'll just buy a cheapish one off Amazon or something.

Do you think a combination lock or keys would be better? dont want to lose the keys but wouldnt want a combination lock to get stuck. Thanks. x

I cant decide if to get a lock or not for our trip next month our buggy only cost me £5 (dont get me wrong its in fab condition it was just a bargain I brought 2nd hand!) and it has very loud circle colours all over it so I think that is a deterant in itself?!! BUT i would be pretty p'**d off if we had to carry our 3 year old if he was tired

I know this has been mentioned once already but flagging it up again - don't leave your shopping on the buggy when you go into restaurants when it can be out of site for a long time. Remember all the shops will deliver purchases to hotels, or you can collect later.

+1 on all of this. I'l just get one with a couple of keys and keep one in my purse and one in the hotel room.

It's definitely the thought of carrying my DD around that's the most frightening - she weighs a tonne! Well after about five minutes she does anyway!
