I did a search for this and only found the answer for children. Can adults get helmets as well with bike rentals? Also, is there a place next to the adult beach to return them or do you need to go back after your hour is up?

As I recall, we all wore helmets. They were in all shapes and sizes. I don't think it's required for adults, but we did. Also, I am almost certain that there is only one place to rent and return (at the end of the family beach).

I saw some adults riding without helmets so they must not enforce it even f its a rule.(we didn't rent bikes) but personally I would not put a bike helmet on my head that has been on hundreds of other peoples heads...to gross.

The alternative is even scarier to me. Plus, I am sure they clean them after each rider.

Well, you are probably safer on CC from any brain crushing accidents than you would be in the 'real' world, unless you plan on going kamakazi after the tram! Of course, with my luck, I'd probably tip over trying to avoid a bug and hit my head on a big old rock :guilty:

You do run across a VERY stupid mother who rents a bike. She rented one with a child seat in the back. Then she had what look like a 5 year old on a bike with training wheels. The little girl got herself stuck in the sand. The mother got off the bike, put the break stand down and walked to the little girl. Leaving the 2 year old on the bike. Yup you guessed it! The little boy moved and over went the bike. For some odd reason he didn't have a helmet. He smacked his forehead on the pavement. My brother who is an EMT got to him first. The little boy was screaming and had a HUGE red knot came up on his head in a matter of minutes. The mother came running over and snatched him up off the ground. My brother was trying to get her to lay him back down incase of any other injury. She kept saying he's ok. He's not hurt. We could all tell he was hurt and hurt bad. By that time Cast Members had got to us. They took the little boy from his mother and made her take him to the medicial office on the island. But she put up a fuss. People where just in shock that she would act like nothing had happened. The little boys helmet was buckled to the side of the bike. So she had taken it off of him.

But yes you can get them for adults also.

Wow, I can't believe a parent would do that. My uncle swerved on a bike path (to avoid a child) when I was younger and hit his head on the pavement causing him serious injury and he did pass away. Since then I won't ride without one...doesn't matter how safe the situation seems to be.
