Biggest Loser "Sizzlin' Hot" Summer Challenge

WOOHOO!!

I found out this morning I ovulated. My basal body temp spiked. So hopefully TOM will stay away and I can take a HPT (home pregnancy test) the weekend of August 25th. I have a RE apt on the 27th and she'll have to run a blood test before she can put me back on Provera. Here's to hoping everything went as its suppose to and I'll get a positive test!

Oh if your on my FB please don't say anything. If I am pregnant I'm waiting until I'm 12 weeks along before I'll say anything to anyone. With losing Maddie back in 2008 I don't want to get excited, shout it from the roof tops, and then God forbid something happen. So for my own emotional and mental well being I'm keeping quiet. I know it'll be hard but I know in the long run it'll be better.

It looks like we actually had 22 people weigh in and 16 of us lost or maintained. That coupled with an almost 50% retention rate at the end of the challenge looks like a successful challenge to me! :thumbsup2 A big, BL thank you to Janis, Sue, and CC for hostessing! :flower3:

Thanks for putting it perspective! I agree... great challenge this summer!

And another big, BL thank you to Carol for coaching this week! :flower3: I especially loved all the Disney questions!

Congratulations to our HH participants, too! :thumbsup2 I noticed that the participants make it on the loser list quite often . . . I don't think that is a coincidence! ;)

I agree!

Since there are no lines I would ride Radiator Springs Racers at DCA at night and then stroll over to catch World of Color. :cool2:

FUN!!

I have been solo at both WDW and Disneyland/DCA while doing races. It is very fun to be on your schedule instead of making sure everyone else is happy. I never feel lonely because I post pics on FB and my WISH friends make me feel like I'm taking everyone along! :lmao:

Jen, sorry for the crazy busy days. Hope things calm down soon.

This is great advice! ::yes::

He will get a medal, Buffy, he just won't be able to start in the earlier corrals. At Tinker Bell it was corral C -- maybe one of our Princess runners this year can answer which corral it was in 2012. princess:

Do you subscribe to the Southwest emails and on FB? They seem to be having specials every week. Keep your eyes peeled.

I agree. SWA has great sales sometimes.

Woo hoo! :woohoo: Thanks for cheering us on! :cheer:

My favorite park is Disneyland. At WDW it is Epcot. If I was at Disneyland right now I would be standing at the rope waiting to ride Radiator Springs Racers -- you guys can tell I love that ride, right? :rotfl2:

My next trip is to WDW in November for the Wine & Dine half marathon and my coast-to-coast medal. :jumping: Carol, there will probably be a WISH meet on Friday, 11/9, if you are around then. It is usually at a resort or DTD so you don't have to burn a ticket. It would be fun to meet up and say hello!

Dona, have a magical time! pixiedust:

Jill, sorry the housecleaning fairy didn't stop by while you were camping. :flower3:

Pamela, you are such a nice Mom to take DD to get the autograph at the last minute! :flower3:

That's me! Super Mom! :lmao:

Just swimming along here. :fish: Lots going on at the office and next week is the last week of summer vacation. Just a little school supply shopping to do and since we start a week earlier than everyone it shouldn't be too bad. Today was "funky formal" day at DS' summer program -- he wore a Miami Vice style jacket that belonged to DH in the 80's :cool2: (Don't ask me why we still have it :confused3) I heard DS looked great but no pictures were taken. Hoping to get one this afternoon.

Have a great day everyone! :goodvibes

P.S. Neener, neener poof fairy! :joker:

Busy, busy time for you and DS. Too bad no pictures of "funky formal" day! :rotfl:

I'd be walking in the back entrance to Epcot and stopping at the UK pavillion and getting fish and chips then heading around the world showcase stopping for a Gray Goose Grand Mariner (SP) then stopping in Morroco for some baklava !! Then I'd walk over to ride Soarin' and Test Track (cause in my world it would be open :) )

Um....YUMMMM!!

my FAVE park is the AK - I could ride the safari all day and take a zillion pictures ..

My next trip hopefully is next summer as a family then a long weekend during the food and wine festival with just the Hubs!

Fun plans!~

Okay friends! I literally started typing this response at 11 am and it is now 4:48 pm! Guess the day got away from me! So we've already been to the Y for DD's senior picture shoot. I can't wait to see them. I think the girl got some really nice pictures. She said she took over 200, so there MUST be a few good ones at least! I'll share a good one when I get them. Kind of wishing I had given the photographer a deadline to get the proofs to me online. I am kind of anxious and I don't want her to procrastinate! This is kind of an informal set-up with the photographer. But I do trust her.... I'm just excited to see them!

Off to take DD to dive class tonight in about 40 minutes. Got a few errands to run while she is in class.... got returns for Kohl's, Target, Walmart, and a few mall stores. Not sure if I can get them all done in the 2.5 hours I will have, as they are not really near each other. But I'll try. It will be nice to have the $$ back in the account!

Eating okay today (did cheat on a handful of trail mix that I didn't journal) and had a good week food-wise. Hopefully I'll have at least a small drop on the scale tomorrow. If not, I'll know it was too many carbs and not enough exercise.

Gonna fly. TTY tomorrow..........................P

How exciting! My lips are sealed! But it's nice that you can share it with us to keep the excitement from overflowing. But no sense in getting close friends and family excited just in case. Here's some pixie dust pixiedust: and prayers. :goodvibes ..............................P

Prayer request for those who are so inclined:

Just found out that my Dad is going to see a surgical oncologist on Tuesday for a lump in his abdomen. Had an MRI this past Monday and don't have any definitive result yet, but the referral certainly doesn't bode well. Prayers appreciated. Thanks.....................P

Well I have to stay on the blood thinners, at least that was what I understood him to say. If I get pregnant Alan is going to have to administer Heprin shots. OYE! This was not the news I was wanting. :(

Pamela, oodles and oodles of good thoughts, prayers and pixiedust: to you and your family.

What a great question. On Friday I will be at DHS for Sci Fi lunch. Sunday evening we will be at The Plaza restaurant. Other than that we will play it by ear.
I am sending in my weight today. I will be back next weekend.
Have a happy and healthy day.

Have a great trip:banana:! You will be at WDW this weekend;)!

Okay peeps, I'm here
I'm all caught up reading but am not going to reply to everything right now. My boys and I camped last week and we had tons of fun. But, then I came home to a horribly messy house. I still hadn't gotten everything organized after our garage sale, then left for camping. So I've spent the last couple days cleaning & organizing. Plus, we went to the outlets near us (about 25 mins away) and got school shoes. Our school has a dress code, so the clothes from last year still fit, so I'm not buying any clothes yet. I'll probably have to buy around Christmas, though. And we don't get supply lists, so I'm done shopping.
Today I'd going to be more cleaning. Somehow, we have tons of toys that have appeared in the dining room. Hmmmm...don't know how those got there lol. So, I'm going to be "back to school" cleaning. I go back next Friday for training & start the 27th. I need to make lists. I do so much better with lists.
Well, now that I rambled, I am going to get my butt up & get cleaning.
QOTD (thurs)-I would probably be at epcot riding Soarin, mission space, or sum of all thrills. Then we'd head to WS to do some eating & drinking
Have a great day!
Jill

Boy, lucky being able to wear last years clothes! DH needs new ones every year, and three pairs of shoes with all the running he does!
I love lists...especially crossing things off lists!
Sum of all Thrills - I should try that this year! Never had before, but starting to ride more roller coasters, I need to try it out!

Time to get that focus back!!
I agree! Time to kick it into gear for the end of the challenge! Summer is TOUGH.... kids are home, vacations happening, bbq foods, etc. But let's end this strong. There are still a few weeks before Labor Day.... you could be down another 5 pounds by then....that much closer to your goal.

************************************************** ***
Found out my coworker is going on vacation next week, completely forgot. I have to leave early at least once and take one morning off for HS Orientation (family is supposed to be included) - we leave early and hit the store to pick up his supplies - if I wait until after work it is mobbed! He has two other days he needs to be picked up and Friday is the morning, with no way for him to get back home, need to see if DH can take Friday morning off...boy this is getting complicated!
Hopefully once school starts it'll settle down. The coach can ocassionally take him, and it'll be a regular schedule. Most people want the easy lazy days of summer...naw, I want a schedule I can count on!
Carol
Hopefully the schedule can get worked out. Any other family you could carpool with?

I am the opposite - it can't snow soon enough for me! Last winter was dismal. I hear ya about the new driver though. DS really dragging his feet about getting a learner's permit. I couldn't wait to get one!
We found one of his team who has a car and is helping out a few kids. Don't want to impose too much though, if he can help us out a couple times next week, then after that the coach said he could - he is already at the school, and has to go to where they are running. Be interesting to see how it shakes out as the year goes on, I only have the running schedule through end of August.

Right now... 9:19 am. Probably just into whatever park we choose for the day.... since it is Thursday I'll say it is probably an Epcot day (we usually start the week with AK and end with MK). We've probably been there for an hour already, waiting for rope drop. And then we headed STRAIGHT to Soarin'! Rode and grabbed FP for later. Now we're off to Test Track and Mission: Space.... gotta get the biggies done early in the day.
Favorite park.... without a doubt, MK. I could sit on Main Street for HOURS soaking up the atmosphere, hopefully spotting some characters, smelling the yummy candy and desserts, and listening to the music.
Next trip isn't even in the planning stages. I went last year with DD and the year before with DS. While I would LOVE to continue that pattern, with DD heading for college next year, it just isn't in the budget. In my MIND I'd love to take her next spring for a last high school Mother/Daughter splurge, and then take DS the following spring. Probably won't be the cards unless I get more work hours this year. I'd LOVE to plan on being there in a few years for my 50th, but again, with a child in college and another to be there soon, it just doesn't seem fiscally sound.
Safe travels, bon voyage, have fun, enjoy yourself, relax.... all of those things!
I'm totally in that "fall/back to school/preparing for winter" mentality with my cleaning and such right now. I've started early with my annual fall nesting instinct!
And I LOVE me a good list too!!!:thumbsup2
Happy Thursday friends!
Yesterday turned out much different than planned. After I had chatted with you all in the morning, made breakfast, did a few house projects (finished the mirror project for the mudroom, but decided it isn't picture worthy.... just didn't come out like I had imagined), stripped my bed and did a load of laundry to hang out, etc.
I was making lunch for the family about 11:45 when DD came to me and let me know that Olympic swimmer Elizabeth Beisel was going to be signing autographs at a Pawsox game (RI minor league) that evening at 5:30pm in Pawtucket, RI... and could we go??? Now keep in mind, we live in central NH, so this is a 2.5 hour ride each way.... and it is 11:45, I am making lunch, mid-laundry cycle, not showered, planned on some back to school shopping, etc. So what did I say? "SURE!" "Wanna invite a friend?" (Aren't I the BEST Mom ever???
We texted a swim friend's Mom to see about bringing the friend along. And as it turned out the Mom (who I really like) asked if I would like adult company. So we met them in town at 2:45 pm, (after a quick stop for cash, gas, etc) drove to Pawtucket (the BAD way.... through Boston near rush hour.... added 45 minutes to the drive...), paid to get into a game we had NO interest in, sat in general admission seats chatting (and kind of watching the game??), until autograph time about mid-way through the 3rd inning. The girls ate dinner in line and then the Moms ate dinner in line (I had a veggie burger and a diet soda.... lightest option I could find other than a veggie tray, but I needed the protein! They didn't let me bring in the snack bars I had with me.... had to trash them.....
The girls got their autographs and VERY fast pictures with the swimmer (tried to get in line a second time, got the okay, and then got denied at the absolute last minute, after they had waited. we sat down and watched about 2 more innings (home team was losing) and then headed out during the 7th inning stretch.
Ride home through Boston was much easier and quicker. Dropped the other off at their car at 10pm. We were home about 10:40pm.
So now DD has met FOUR Olympic swimmers. Life is good.:thumbsup2
Today is Senior pictures day! Hopefully it will go well. It isn't costing me much, so if they don't turn out well, it won't be a big deal to try again.
Okay.... breakfast is eaten, email is read, and it is time to get moving with this day! DH is off to the doctor for his post-op check. Hopefully everything will look great.
TTYL...............................P

Boy, busy day yesterday. Your DD is lucky, not often you get to meet so many high caliber athletes - and in her chosen sport, no less!

It'll be interesting to see what college does to our finances. We have decided we are not going to have him start with a mountain of debt, so we have a college savings for him, and my salary will go toward what the savings doesn't cover (which will probably be quite a bit). So we might have to cut down a little too, even though he is in college and I was hoping for a quick holiday trip to see the lights...will have to see how it goes. Still have that promised trip to Germany! I told him that in return he has to take care of us (or at least visit us) in our old age ;)!

A big, BL congratulations to all our superstars and especially our biggest loser, Lindsay!
It looks like we actually had 22 people weigh in and 16 of us lost or maintained. That coupled with an almost 50% retention rate at the end of the challenge looks like a successful challenge to me! :thumbsup2 A big, BL thank you to Janis, Sue, and CC for hostessing!

Good challenge!

That sounds like an awesome ride. Maybe I will screw up my courage and go to DL someday (I have this irrational fear that the earthquake will happen while I am there). Between Carsland, World of Color and an Indiana Jones ride, I am sorely tempted!

I won't be able to make the DIS meet :(. We leave mid-week. DS only has two days off, Mon & Tue, so we take him out of school one day on Friday. We are actually flying in on Thursday this time, arriving close to midnight. Saved money on plane tickets that way, but will be tired Friday! Will flop in a Comfort Inn that night and check into AKL the next day, then try to make it to WS, and maybe hit Soarin'.

I'd be walking in the back entrance to Epcot and stopping at the UK pavillion and getting fish and chips then heading around the world showcase stopping for a Gray Goose Grand Mariner (SP) then stopping in Morroco for some baklava !! I've seem some really wonderful senior pictures. I'm hoping DS has his braces off next year so he can smile that winning smile again! Right now he is inclined to glower...:worried:

That was always fun! Although my second time around, I gave myself the shots, which was a great relief to DH! But this was for the hormone shots, not Heprin, just had to do it for the first 10 weeks.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

It's been fun being a coach. I was worried I might screw up and forget or something, but it was nice making sure I was here everyday. And a lot easier to keep up with ;)

Want to kick it into high gear the end of the challenge, but will wait until after Saturday, we might hit Melting Pot since we didn't do anything the weekend of my birthday. Sorry, can't make that one any better...but next week I want to start walking while waiting for DS at practice, I've been good about getting to work on time and getting out right on time. I slumped a little this summer :rolleyes2

Going to hit the hay early tonight. Haven't been able to get much sleep past two days...

Hope everyone has a great evening :goodvibes

Pamela, oodles and oodles of good thoughts, prayers and pixiedust: to you and your family.

Thanks to everyone for the prayers...they are much appreciated.

Yup, DD is very lucky... And she has a crazy Mom who will do some crazy driving to make it happen. ;)

Well, the " best" 40ish of the senior pictures are online so we got to scrutinize them. We pretty much picked a few favorites (DH and I definitely liked the same ones) and DD already put her fav on FB! I will be getting a bunch of them printed, at least in 4x6 for the scrapbook.i"ll share one tomorrow or over the weekend.

Time for bed!............P

Prayers and PD coming your way Pamela!!

QOTD: If I was there now, I'd probably be at MK with a mickey ice cream or dole whip sitting around Adventureland taking in the atmosphere and listening to guests walk by, maybe taking a ride on the jungle cruise! My favorite park....eeesh, I don't know, I love them all! I guess I'll say DHS because the hollywood theming and street performers are my favorite. My next trip will (hopefully!) be in August of 2013, if I'm accepted into the DCP. I'd be there for 6 months!!

-----
Hope you all had a nice day.

Got one of my friends moved into her apartment. Lots of heavy lifting, but it looks really nice. Still jealous I haven't gotten to move out yet....in time, in time. Crossing my fingers for a good weigh in tomorrow. I've done a decent job this week, worked out pretty well, but for some reason "feeling fat" so hopefully that'll wear off by tomorrow morning. The last 10 lbs really IS the hardest!

Good luck on your weigh ins!!

**Thinking out loud**

If I am pregnant I want to be able to tell Alan in a fun way. This is what I've come up with so far:

Option 1: Take a picture of the positive pregnancy test (or actually have the test) and wrap it up. Then get a t-shirt that says something along the lines of "I'm going to be a dad again" (or something like that) and put it all in a gift bag with tissue paper.

Go to Magic Kingdom and sneak off and find a photopass photographer and explain my scheme. Then have them take pictures as he's looking at the stuff.

Option 2:

Make reservations at O'hanas (his favorite restaurant). Call the Disney cake line and have a cake made. Have the cake team write on the cake "Welcome Baby M********" and present the cake after dinner. :)

Healthy Habits Week 12: WDW Marathon

"Weight loss is a marathon, not a sprint." In that spirit, this week's mini-challenges are my Top 10 HHs (in no particular order).

I was already thinking this when I read Lisa's post about how, HH participants often make the Top 10 Losers list, so I decided it was definitely time for this "offer."

Healthy Habits this week will have 2 prize winners. There will be the usual prize winner: anyone who participates gets his/her name entered into the "hat." The 2nd "hat" will be for anyone who earns 6 or more points this week. :)

Top 10 Healthy Habits

1. Drink 64 oz. of water on 5/7 days this week. Try to count only water, not coffee or tea.

2. Limit alcoholic beverages to 1 this week.

3. Stick to your exercise plan.

4. Complete at least 1 strength training session this week.

5. Eat 2 servings of protein on 5/7 days this week and 6. eat 2 servings of dairy on 4/7 days this week. Dairy substitutes count as well.

7. Eat 1 serving of fruit on 5/7 days this week.

8. Eat a total of 5 servings of fruits and vegetables on 5/7 days this week.

9. Spend some time relaxing on 4/7 days this week. You can decide what counts as relaxing and the length of time.

10. Keep other aspects of your life in control as well. Do at least 1 load of laundry on 5/7 days this week.

Have a great week everyone!

I love both ideas! Do they have photopass photographers at O'hana? You could merge both ideas if they do. I really like the idea of having someone photograph telling him for you. :goodvibes

Love all of your ideas. If you are looking for any other ideas, check out Pinterest. Lots and lots of ideas there. One of the cute ones DD showed me on either Pinterest or Tumbler recently. This couple was photo-documenting their visit to the MK (obviously there was a third party photographer somewhere in the mix)....when they got to the tea cups ride, the woman pointed to the sign about pregnant women not riding and then just waited a minute for the man to figure it out. The photo shows a great reaction from him. Then it shows her, watching him ride, while wearing a "1st visit" badge on her t-shirt, right over her belly. (Maybe have been staged, as the photos are almost too good, but still a cute idea.)

A bit easier, but still cute.... someone took a picture of their positive pregnancy test along with a note that said "Hi Daddy!" and gave it to her DH.

Love the top 10 idea!! And truly, TRULY.... this is a MARATHON!

I love both ideas! Do they have photopass photographers at O'hana? You could merge both ideas if they do. I really like the idea of having someone photograph telling him for you. :goodvibes

Prayers Pamela.

THanks for the prayers CC.

Happy Friday morning friends! Well.... has anyone seen the video from Cape Cod bay of the great white shark sighted this week??? It was on local Massachusetts news on Wednesday, Good morning America yesterday, and several other news outlets now. Anyhow, that video was shot by my 20 year old nephew! How crazy is that?? He was interviewed by the local news outlets and that aired on Wed. and apparently the video has gone viral on several websites. DH jokingly asked his BIL if DNephew is getting royalties.... and he IS!! DNephew graduated in June from a post-HS tech school for marine ?? (boat repair, something like that) and is working this summer as a first mate on a private fishing boat/tuna boat (his first love in the world is fishing) and he got this video while out "at work."

Nothing definite on the schedule today thank goodness! Probably do a bit of laundry, vacuuming and then plan to hit the scrapping table! I haven't done even a tiny bit of scrapping for weeks. The big book for DMIL put me in a scrapping funk and I just stopped. But now I'm anxious to get back to work.

I'm guessing that DD may be begging to hit the Y for a workout at some point in time, but her room and bathroom are in quite a state and I need her to get them under control first. DS is paintballing tomorrow, so he will need to spend a minute picking up his room, trying on some of the clothes I bought him, and getting his PB gear organized.

Got up a bit late and haven't even had coffee yet! I'm starving! TTYL......P

Great list this week! I'll have to write them all down so I'll remember!

Those are all cute ideas! I second looking through pinterest, they have tons of ideas.

:headache: I am up .2 this week. Seriously, I thought the "last 10 lbs" would be a breeze. Difficult? I lost 20, obviously I could lose 10 easy! Should've listened to everyone. I've done really well with my exercise lately, not as great on my food which is probably why I ended where I'm at. Probably a bit too much salt. But I'm up for the challenge this week and since school starts on Monday I probably won't have much time to eat anyway! Need to find some good recipes to take for lunch.

I don't know if any of you still drink out of your Disney mugs from the resorts. That's all I drink out of (besides those tumblers!) and I looked up and saw that they actually hold 16oz of water. Here I am getting twice as much I as I thought! It's nice to be able to have two cups at a time and mindlessly sip all day.

Off to work, have a fabulous day!:wave2:

Another Disney one!

Wednesday QOTD: Let’s say you find yourself in Disney – alone! No kids, work, pets, responsibilities! What special event, show, tour, spa, little extra Disney thing would you like to do right now? You’ll have all the time you want to ride, there aren’t any lines, so what special thing would you like to do?

Definitely the MK Wishes Dessert Party...I've always wanted to do that!

This is my last question as your coach, Disney one more time!

Thursday QOTD: The weekend is almost here! Wish we could all be in Disney this weekend! If you were at a Disney park right now, what would you be doing? What is your favorite park, and when is your next trip?

If I were at a park right now, it would so be Epcot, and I would be finishing a tasty French pastry breakfast...mmmm, Chocolate croissants....My favorite park is Epcot because of the WS, for sure. And my next trip is in 41 DAYS!!!!:dance3:pixiedust:

Pamela, sending massive prayers your way!!

Kristina, thinking about you and Alan's daughter and hoping everything turns out all right! I know from her perspective she's seeing everything that lies behind her, and not paying attention to all that's in front of her- I completely know what that feels like. Doesn't make it okay to ignore the important people in her life, but still...is there anything you can do together to maybe bring her to the "present"? I'm not too much older than her I don't think, and sometimes I need that for myself. Hope it gets better!

So this Saturday is the longest run I've had to do so far in my training- nine miles! I'm hoping to get in under 1:45. Then that evening, I'm gonna be making dinner for my guy :lovestruc It's something so NOT healthy, I must admit...but it looked really good on Pinterest!

Your secret is safe iwth Me - good luck in finding the perfect way to tell the hubby, but no matter how you do I am sure you'll get the same wonderful reaction!

Sorry about that frustration. Been there, done that... and kept at it. And you will too. I've actually had moments on the scale when I couldn't decide if I wanted to cry or just throw the scale across the room. You know, those weeks when everything you ate was spot on, you weighed/measured every portion, drank water like a fish, guzzled green tea, and worked out like a boss every day.... and the scale shows NOTHING for your efforts (or worse, a .2 you like had today). And you just can't figure out where to go from there (other than giving up, starving, or liposuction :rolleyes1). DO NOT GIVE UP! You are worth it.... the 20 pounds you have already lost are worth it. Even if you never lose another ounce (but you know you will), the weight you have already lost has made you healthier, happier, and stronger, right??

Take a moment to think about the past week and maybe take a peek at your food journal/exercise journal. Could you change up the workouts a bit? Add or subtract some cardio or weights? Watch the salt, increase the water?? Drop the carbs a bit? Add a few more serving of veggies?

Make some notes, and try to make a few positive changes this week and see how it goes from there. But NEVER GIVE UP!

I have several of the mugs but we don't use them.... we "save" them. We are "savers". I will die with new clothes in my closet with the tags on them because I was "saving" them! I know it is silly.... but that is me (and my Dad and my daughter). :confused3

Definitely the MK Wishes Dessert Party...I've always wanted to do that!

Is that the one they do in that Tomorrowland Terrace area? I think that sounds like so much fun!

I do adore WS. Sadly, my family could definitely give it a pass. But DD and I had a good visit there last time. She "tolerated" it for old Mom and I think we had a great afternoon!

Thanks. Talked with Dad a bit ago (on the premise of asking him a home improvement type question), and he is worried. When I asked him if he was golfing today (he usually golfs on Fridays), he said he was golfing to get his mind off "things".

Okay friends. I really need to stay off Pinterest. Instead of getting ANYTHING done around the house today, I've just looked up ideas for getting stuff done around the house!! :lmao:

I did do one "repair" project (restuck a floor tile that was lifting at the corner) and one "cute" project. DS has a wall of "L" in his room (his first initial). It kind of happened by chance.... shortly after we painted and redecorated his room a few years ago, I came across a large black leather "L" in Homegoods on clearance. I snagged it for his room and it has evolved into a wall of "L" and it is so cute! Hobby Lobby frequently has large letters in different colors, textures, types (metal, ceramic, wood, etc) and I try to grab some here and there. Plus as I dug through his closet, I came across a few that he had painted as a toddler.

Anyhoooo.... DH's keyboard stopped working yesterday and he asked DS to take a look at it (DS loves doing stuff like that). It was declared a total loss and was heading for the trash when I decided to pop off a few keys to keep "just in case". I put some doublestick tape behind the "L" and stuck it to the "L" wall! It looks adorable. You need to get close to see that it is more than just a black square, but it is sweet. Any ideas what else I can do with these keys? I saved a few.... maybe fridge magnets? I thought that would be fun with the ones that say things like "save" "delete" etc. Couldn't spell out anyone's name in the family because the letters were worn off of several of the significant letters like A, E, S, D. (oh my gosh.... can you tell I've spent WAAAAAYYY too much time on Pinterest lately?? Just throw the stupid keyboard away already!!:rotfl2: )

Kids haven't brought their laundry down yet (I have asked and asked) so I haven't done any wash yet. Oh well... if they don't get it to me soon, it won't have time to dry on the line today and they will have to wait another day for it. DS doesn't care, but DD has a few favorite pairs of shorts that she wears every day and I'm sure they need washing.

DH is away for a lunch/afternoon meeting. His eyes are still incredibly red from his surgery last week, but he is much less light sensitive and doing well, so he is off to work. Got the A-OK from the surgeon yesterday and will continue to heal as time goes on.

Off to make my bed (finally) and hit the scrapping table. Will make lunch for the kids and I when someone declares their hunger...................P
