biggest loser couples

I missed the 1st 15 minutes. Why did Tara compete?

Ali and Sam came back to and did a work out with them . Then they said this was a fan favourite challenge so they had Tara back. She won $5,000. and her face on a Wheatie box.

It was great to see Ali, Sam and Tara (my #1 Favorite!). However, I did not think that it was quite fair that Tara was able to win the challenge and everything that went with it. Sure, she beat everyone else but the prizes should have been only available to the contestants and the show should have paid Tara's foundation anyway. I think losing to Tara put Rulon into a mental tailspin and made him think like he was ready to go home. He didn't like missing out on the Wheaties box and he didn't like being beaten by a slip of a girl. I also call BS on being close to his goal weight. His "goal weight" was his Olympic wrestling weight and NOT a healthy weight for him. It's still way too much at 6'2" and nearly 300 lbs. I'll be interested to see him in the finale. Do you think he'll show?

The quinoa salad looked really yummy! It's pretty close to one that I make at home:

1 C quinoa (pronounced "keen-wah")
1/2 - 1 C diced cucumbers
1/2 - 1 C diced peppers (your choice in color)
2 T chopped cilantro
1 T olive oil
1 T lime juice
(I also included a can of drained and rinsed black beans, but you would skip that one)

I cooked the quinoa in 1 1/2 C water for about 20 minutes, cooled it and then added the other ingredients. Very simple with lots of protein. The downside is that quinoa can be fairly expensive which is why I buy it in bulk.

Another foolish elimination! I was SURE they were going to send Irene home! Don't get me wrong ... I really like Irene and she is probably my favorite but they were really dumb to not get rid of her while they could. Did she have some kind of alliance that I am unaware of? Now that Rulon is gone it's all her for the win!

Did anyone notice that Kaylee said that she figured out why she wasn't losing at the Ranch and was at her "goal weight" after losing 68 lbs off her initial 233 lbs? Um ... that's a 165 which was your final weight AT the Ranch! Maybe she figured out that she would just declare "goal!" and not work at it anymore :rolleyes1. On the bright side, that Vance is a real cutie! Too bad we didn't get to see more of him because he could have become a BL heartthrob like Sam.

I was never a Rulon fan but I felt for him that he didn't get the prizes for the car pulling competition. I thought it was cool of Tara to come back and compete but she should not have won the prizes, I kept waiting for her to say "since it was such a close competition I've decided to give the prizes to Rulon". Maybe she tried and he refused, who knows, she had her chance at prizes on her own season, just seemed a bit unfair last night. It was sad to see rulon so excited about the race car experience and seeing the race car driver and then to be defeated. I'm kind of glad he left though, from the beginning I thought he shouldn't be there. They kept making such a big deal about him being an olympic athlete, well then he already has the tools and knowledge to lose this weight, it was all for show. Doesn't he even own his own gym to train wrestlers?

It was good to see Sam again, he's hot!

I don't understand Kaylee at all. She says she is confident and knows everything now in order to lose weight, but she gained weight more than once on the ranch with the help of trainers.

I am guessing she and Rulon will have the hardest time maintaining their weight.

I felt weird about Tara winning, but the producers put her in that position. I'm sure they coached her that it was okay for her to win. I thought it was a terrible decision on the show's part to let a past contestant get her face on the Wheaties box - how is that helping your publicity? BUT after Rulon walking off the show, I'm sure there was more to this Tara/contest story behind the scenes. Since the prize didn't have anything to do with the game (it wasn't immunity or pounds), I wonder if the producers "helped" her win? Wheaties certainly wouldn't have wanted a quitter on their box either.

I love that they brought Sam back and that he's a trainer at the resort! It would be awesome if they brought him on the actual show as a trainer - Kara has never grown on me! Her voice drives me nuts. I know, they still need a female trainer besides Jillian, but I'm not a Kara fan.

I figured Kaylee would be voted off since the purple girls and Irene are best friends. I'm excited that we have 3 strong young women in the remaining 5 - and I actually like all of them!

As for makeovers, I hope they didn't turn anyone full-on blond, like the promo - the remaining women are lovely as brunettes.

Can someone remind me what Ken said in his exit interview that was about Rulon?

I complete agree with the bolded! I wouldn't mind seeing Sam every week. :rolleyes1

Rulon never impressed me like I expected him to. I've read the rumors about the DQ and I wouldn't be surprised if they were true. I don't expect to see him on the finale show and I expect him (and Kaylee) to gain back the weight. I really think Rulon has some serious issues and is in need of professional help.

Irene is my favorite and I'm glad she's still around, but what a stupid decision game-wise to keep her over Kaylee. Kaylee was not a threat to anyone.

I can't imagine Rulon looking good for makeover week anyway

I can't wait to see Irene next week for that though, she's looking so good now :)

So what did you think of the make overs?

Loved Olivia short hair but didn't like it much at the weight in.

Did not like Hannah's hair at all.

Irene's was nice with the highlights and a bit shorter.

Austin got highlights too , thought he could habe went a bit shorter.

Jay looked pretty good all dressed up and cleanshaven.

I liked how they did the fairy tale theme instead of the runway.

But I was so hoping Hannah would have went home.

Was happy to see Irene win the car and was hoping that Austin would have won the second one. At least it wasn't both sisters. I am really tired of hearing these two talk.

Only two shows left....

I did not care for Hanna as a Blonde. Irene hair looked great & I really liked Olivia's thought it suited her very well looked like she has really nice hair work with. Austin looked nice too. Jay well not alot to work with;) but he looked nice.

I was kind of underwhelmed at the makeovers. I like short hair, but didn't care for Olivia's asymmetrical cut.

Also did not like the hair color choices for Hannah and Irene. (What is it with this show always taking dark-haired female contestants and making them blonde?!)

Didn't care for Hannah's cut at all. The bang was way too heavy...made her look like a drag queen! Irene looked pretty with the shorter cut and wavy hair.

The men looked nice, but their transformation was no where near as spectacular as Michael's last year, when he finally tamed that 'fro!

With Tim Gunn in the picture (whom I adore!), I was kind of surprised that the gowns were so beauty pageant/prom queen-ish...then I remembered this was Biggest Loser, LOL. And I guess they went well with the whole "fairy tale" vibe of the castle.

Not digging the trend of musical performances, at all. Just seems very awkward and forced.

The surprise 3rd wish at the end was a nice, happy surprise.

The best thing about the episode, to me: that it was only an hour long, LOL!

I liked the whole show. I don't have a problem with the sisters, I like them so I was so happy when NO one went home. I actually teared up at Jays reaction.
I loved the royal theme and the beautiful dresses the girls wore.
I have no clue who the band was that played for them though. :lmao:

I am not liking that it was only one hour. Some of the shows don't bother me now that they are an hour, but this one needed more time. Is this going to be the norm now?

Next back to 2 hours. I think it was just for the 2 first shows of The Voice.

I wondered how they would make up for the extra week once Rulon left. That was great -- no one this week.

I thought Austin's makeover was the best. He looked younger, fresh and healthy.

I always get the sisters mixed up, but I hated the blonde and bangs on the sister. She looks so much better as a brunette. The short hair on the other sister looked nice.

For some reason, none of the makeovers really wowed me.

Since I'm still kind of in "Royal Wedding" mode, I really enjoyed the fairytale themed makeovers. :goodvibes But I think I enjoyed the coach/castle/pretty flowers and lights aspect of it more than the makeovers themselves.

Did anyone else notice the picture they showed of Olivia and her husband? They were in front of the floral Mickey in the MK during Halloween. :)

I agree with this 100%. I don't think we'll see any of them keeping up those looks at the finale. That blond hair with harsh bangs looked like a wig.

No comments about the sister singing??? She has a beautiful singing voice!! I was very surprised by that. I mute all her talking bc I find it annoying but she has a talent in her singing.

I'm glad only 1 sister won the car but isn't she the one that lives in NYC? Why does she need a car?! lol

Can't wait to see Jillian ride Jay's **** next week like she said she would.

It was a fun episode...I really like all of the contestants who are there, they are all just supportive and are friendly to each other.

(BTW, I've been catching up on past seasons on Hulu Plus and watching Season 6 right now...what a major difference in attitudes from that season!!!)

I noticed that too! Her husband has lost a ton of weight too! :goodvibes
