The Public weigh in did not bother me. I think it helps they all knew they were overweight & everyone was going to see it anyway when the show airs & maybe will give the contestants more support at home. I just thought the first challege was huge but better than last seasons challenge. that would have been harder for me, not that biking was easy.

The weigh in did bother me. Yes, they are weighing in in front of America on the show. BUT, the only people in the room with them at the time of the weigh in are the other condestants, crew, trainers, and Ali. The rest of the world is removed from them in that moment and they are not as vulnerable. It's kind of like how people here can get kind of nasy because they are sitting behind a computer talking to anonymous people.

In their hometowns, not only are there a bunch of people standing right there, but it is people they know and love. I would find that much more humiliating than a normal weigh in.

As always, YMMV. No matter what the show does or how they do it, somebody will be upset about it. For example, i thought it was great they invited Shea to come back to this season's finale, but one of my friends was complaining that it was unfair to invite her and not others.

The lost the challenge, but they are going home with a chance to come back in a month. Whichever teams loses the most weight, They get to come back. The trainers are going to be working with them as well at hoime

Because they lost the challenge. Yes it was heart wrenching. But I do understand that they are trying to show people weight loss can be done at home, but it still stunk. I did not feel much love for a first episode.

I have always been curious about this ... when the contestants go home are the nutritionists, gym fees, personal trainers, etc paid for by BL?

I do believe that you are paid weekly to be a contestant on the BL. From what I have read it is anywhere from 500-750/week.

So, as long as they are a "contestant" my guess is that they are being paid at home to.

Now if you were a gym owner you might flip a contestant a free membership while on the show for some media advertising. I would if I owned a gym. Otherwise I will bet that you have to pay for your stuff out of your stipend.

I think they get paid a stipend only as long as they are on the ranch. As soon as they are voted out it stops. That is the reason the twins wanted the one brother to stay so he could continue to get the $$, if he left the ranch the payment would stop and he would have to go back to work.

My favs so far are Orange team and White team. That orange mama cracks me up!!!!!!

Last week we said the pink girl looked like Helen's daughter. Tonight I think the purple girl looks like Brittnay? The girl that was all upset saying a girl could never win the Biggest Loser and it turned out she had hormone problems and it was causing her not to lose weight. I think she was paired with Bernie.

Honestly, I'm having a hard time getting into the show this year. I just don't feel a 'connection' with anyone. I keep thinking about the incredible stories from last season and I haven't been impressed so far this year.

Now that you mention it, I think the Extra 'commercial' has been the only one. That's odd.

Previews for next week look interesting too. Bet it is the same team they are talking about. It seems like Bob and Jillian are really pushing this bunch harder this time round.

The son on the white team sure is a mama's boy.... He was so proud of her lost instead of his own.

Red seems to be the players so far...but who knows who did enough to get both of the trainers so mad.

Michael is my favorite so far (yes, he is a mama's boy but losing 3 family members in less than a year when you are 15/16 is enough to make anyone a mama's boy).

I think that was John (the brown team ) who lost 3 family members.
