Cookies....pick out the one that looks the very best out of all "choose wisely" and enjoy the one, then focus on conversation with those around me.

Sarah

Great tips thank you for sharing!!! I definitely need to work on just "sampling" things and not going overboard on the goodies!!

Hi Everyone - this goes under the "life is weird category". I reported in yesterday with a .5 weight loss which was less than past weeks but I am always happy with a trend in the right direction. This morning I went to my weight watchers meeting and was down 1.8 from last Saturday. I must have run a marathon in my sleep last night! :yay: Just goes to show, don't get to caught up in what the scale says from one day to the next. Remind me later that I said this!

Have great weekends ~ it is beautiful in Denver, sunny and high 60's. Good day for a walk with the DH and pups!

CONGRATs on your loss!!!! Hope you enjoyed the beautiful weather in your area!!!!!

Oh my gosh, Sarah! What an incredible change! It is amazing how much of a difference you can make in yourself in six months.

I also have to say, I have been coveting your 50 WISH clippie! It looks fantastic! I am taking my time getting to mine, but one of these days....

Congrats to both of you!! Thanks for sharing those pictures with us Sarah...you are looking amazing!!!!!!

Corinnak....that clippie will be yours before you know it!!!

Stayed the same this week - I am eating a lot better though. Tonight, for DN b'day we're having sushi.
I missed yesterday's QOTD so here goes-
I would want Mary Poppins as a motivational coach/weight loss partner. She would get me on track for sure:scared1:

Todays QOTD- I'm trying to make a list of all the things we love that are good choices for us. For example, smoked salmon, light laughing cows, heirloom peppers and toms, arugula. Those yummy flatbread crackers! Even if they cost a little more. We make our own apple sauce, and salsa. That way we will feel like celebrating without the sweets.
There will probably be hard cider, Malibu. I just have to use the will power with drinking.

Always having a plan of attack is very wise when you know you are going to be facing these situations. Loved your tip...thank you for sharing!!

Loved your Mary Poppins answers...she would be practically perfect at motivating you!!!!

QOTD: SO....what big temptations this holiday season do you know you will be facing and what one tip can you share with us on how you plan to make it through when it gets tough???

There are two major things that I will have to try and keep to a minimum and they are: STUFFING and EGG NOG (especially the Sugar Cookie flavored). I will just limit myself to a small serving and one glass of egg nog a week just like I do with my alcohol. I hope to reach 160 by Thanksgiving and 150-155 by Christmas. I plan on staying focused and get in my workouts each day no matter what.

Feeling better though still really tired. Had a pretty successful holiday fair. I did do 20 push ups, 50 crunches and 50 reverse crunches before my shower this morning. Carrying the boxes going into the fair wasn't bad as two men helped which was greatly appreciated. It was leaving that I worked up the sweat. I did about 10 trips to and from the car. I ate my sandwich, a tiny bag of M&Ms, a 100 calorie chocolate covered pretzel package, and had a cup of tea. Never felt like having the yogurt. Several people offered me cookies and then at the end were trying to sell the leftovers half price but I declined. Pork is cooking and I will stir fry myself some mushrooms, carrots, zucchini and onions to have with it.

Gotta go prepare for Sunday school tomorrow and then Christmas shopping with my girls.

:banana:Just a little bragging: DH and DD1 finished their soccer season today. They WON 3-1 having an overall record for the season of 4-3. DD2 scored the last goal of the season bringing her total to 3 goals and 2 assists! Now we need to find her an indoor league for the winter!

Awww congrats to your girls doing so well in their soccer season!!!!!

Glad to hear your Holiday fair went so well and that you were able to stay on the plan!!! That is GREAT :thumbsup2

Hope you have a great week!!!!!!

QOTD: SO....what big temptations this holiday season do you know you will be facing and what one tip can you share with us on how you plan to make it through when it gets tough???

We will host a big family holiday party sometime in December (Can you believe we don't have the date yet?! That would be my dh...sigh). It will be hard because we hold it at a restaurant, and we can only bring in dessert. That means my choices will mostly be pizza or fried. I will eat a sensible and filling lunch with plenty of veggies, so I'm not starving at dinner. I will also plan to just sample everyone's desserts, and then only the ones people actually made (so that will make the list much smaller!). I will also be sure I'm speaking with everyone more than eating.

Wow! Sarah you look fantastic! What a positive change -- you should be so proud!

Maria :upsidedow

Great tips!!! I defintely working on the one where I don't go places with food hungry, especially grocery shopping!!!!!

Thanks LuvBaloo, that encouragement makes me feel a lot better.
I also thought of another encourager: Mrs. Potts. So, I don't know if I'd want her or Jiminy now!

QOTD: SO....what big temptations this holiday season do you know you will be facing and what one tip can you share with us on how you plan to make it through when it gets tough???

DESSERTS, DESSERTS, DESSERTS!!!! My tip would be to cut everything in half. That is how I will win the dessert battle.

Another great tip...I'm definitely writing all of these down. Thank you so much for sharing this with us!!!!

Gosh I dunno. I started my weight loss journey last year after New Years.
I think the best thing for me will be to limit my eating before get togethers. Also be better with cleaning the fridge before thanksgiving hits and being faithful with dealing with leftovers- properly storing/freezing things.

Just went to Portland to put kid on the plane to visit his sister in Albequerque-*sp?

Had dinner at Burgerville-- love of my life. Only had a pumpkin shake, albeit a lg. and some sweet potato fries. The shake was the best pumpkin shake I have ever had in my life and don't regret it lol. All their ingredients are real and local- very fresh. And we don't have any Burgervilles in Eugene because we are dumb.
I had a free glass of wine at the Holiday Inn with their priority club sign up instead of a free desert and it was lovely expensive Merlot so that was great. Today we went to Otto's in Portland before going home. It was a place Guy Fieri featured on one of his shows (Diners drive ins and dives) so we were determined to check it out. Had the most 'friggin awesome hot pastrami sandwich in my life and bought some pastrami to take with us on our anniversary trip and some chicken apple sausages they make there. Moral of the story is though I ate a very light and healthy breakfast yesterday and today didn't eat anything except for an orange in the room for breakfast and some tomato basil soup when I got home. (ok had a beer with the sandwich lol). I can do this....

Glad you had a great time!! Three words...Sweet Potato Fries...hmmm...I might have to break out my WW recipe and make those in the upcoming weeks when they are on sale!!

Sarah, thanks for posting your pics. You look absolutely wonderful! I love that colorful Mickey sweater! :thumbsup2 What a great accomplishment -- your hard work has paid off and you should be very proud of yourself. :flower3:

tigger813, I love eggnog, too. Between the eggnog and the alcohol, it's a double whammy. I've tried cutting the eggnog with skim milk -- it's not too bad, especially if you never have the full strength stuff during the season. You can fool yourself that is the way it really tastes! :santa:

Those are a lot of good strategies for dealing with the holidays! :thumbsup2

Congratulations to all of you who showed a loss this week and a big  to those to who didn't. We can do this!

Have a great day, all!

Not a huge egg nog person but lately I have been craving coffee with lots of cream...so I'm trying more sensible options like the fatfree types. Great tip!! Hope you have a great week yourself!!!!

Ok, so I just read this interesting "cookie" recipe, and I have to share it. Not because it's low in fat or calories, just because...

Cookie Splatters

Take saltine crackers, turn them salt side down, and spread them with the frosting of your choice.

So easy, anyone can do it -- I read it's a good way to use up leftover frosting after you make a cake, and keep people out of the cake before you're ready to serve it...sounds like a snack for the tween boys that just drop in when I have nothing else! They'll eat anything and everything...

Maria :upsidedow

LOL...thanks for sharing. It does sound like something my husband would love, although I'm not sure I could eat it LOL!!!! :rotfl:

You look great! In just six months! Wow!

QOTD: SO....what big temptations this holiday season do you know you will be facing and what one tip can you share with us on how you plan to make it through when it gets tough???

I host a Christmas eve feast starting with wine and cheese and Italian antipasta platters, baked clams, and shrimp cocktail. After all this I serve lasanga! Then dessert. Probably 2 weeks WW points in one night!

I'm going to try and lighten everything up as much as I can without affecting the quality. I'll add lots of fresh veggies to the antipasta and make sure to make a low fat dip. Otherwise I plan on moderation. One baked clam, not two or three! One or two pieces of soppersotta and cheese. Small piece of lasanga.

I'll be sure to drink lots of water too. Maybe sip on two glasses of water between each glass of wine.

Thats the plan. I hope it works!

Can I come to your house??? I'm also italian and your feast sounds wonderful!!! You have some really good tips and I know the plan will work for you!!!!!

Sarah,
That is a great pic and msut be so motivating to you.

QOTD Saturday: I don't know that I really have a game plan in place. With my family, I help with the cooking, so I make sure that I have some healthier options on the table. I do have one Thanksgiving party with the Worlds of Fun supervisors Thanksgiving weekend, but I think I should be okay.

I plan to keep exercising so that that component is there. I like working out at the gym, and we odn't have a 24 Hour Fitness in Jefferson City, so I'm not sure what I plan to do for workouts there.

Yes exercise is very important!!!! Do you have some videos you like that you could use to supplement when you can't make it to the gym????

Well, the yard and the pool and the garage are ready for winter.... FINALLY. Thank goodness we had a beautiful day here today... DH and I were able to get a LOT done outside. Both of the kids had friends over, so that kept them out of our hair and away from each other all day (although we didn't get any help from them either). And I got the trash out today... that is a really big deal because lately I miss it about 3 out of 4 weeks (ever since we went from Wed. mid-day pick up to Monday crack-of-dawn pick up) ! I got all of the recycling sorted, the newspapers bundled, and all kinds of odds and ends that have needed to be gone, out the door and ready for our early morning trash man!!

All of the gardening tools are put away for the winter, the tall flower stalks around the driveway and sides of the house are trimmed (something I always WANT to do, but rarely get to). The lawn has been mowed for the last time this year, the mower is put away in the shed, and sadly, the snowblower has been moved into its "ready" position in the garage :sad2:. I have my hooks up and ready for birdfeeder season (but no feeders yet... still bears around!)

I washed every "frequent touch" surface in the house today to kill germs... door knobs, cabinet knobs, light switch plates, stair rails, phones, computer mouse, appliance handles, etc. It was also warm enough to leave doors and windows open, so hopefully our sick germs are GONE!!

I didn't get to my scrapbook table, but that is okay. At least when I DO sit there (hopefully later this week) I can scrap GUILT FREE, knowing that all of my other chores are caught up!

I can't believe it is 4:40 pm and it is SO dark already. ICK. I hate winter!!!!!

Thanks for listening to my rambling!! Guess it's time to figure out what is for dinner!........................P

:worship::worship: WOW!! You were super productive!!!!!! I'm in awe right now!!!!!

Finally heading downstairs to get in a workout. Think I'll do the 3 mile WATP and later do 2-3 miles on the elliptical.

Got some Christmas shopping done and will take the girls to see Santa on Wednesday. He was there today but we weren't dressed nice enough. Had my bad thing for the weekend. The Chinese place at the Food court at the mall had a special of 7 items for $2.99. It was only a plateful so not too too bad. I plan on having a yogurt for supper and then some popcorn later. DH is prepping for a colonoscopy so I don't want to eat in front of him though he said I could. I ate my calories at lunch. We will probably have pizza and subs for supper tomorrow night so I'll have to be good tomorrow but I'll get in my workouts in the morning and Irish step tomorrow night.

Hope everyone had a good weekend. Leslie Sansone is summoning me! Gotta WALK!

Sounds like a great weekend was had!!!! Awww...I'm sure your girls will enjoy their meet with Santa!!! Leslie Sansone is calling me too...I need to get off this computer and go walk!!!!

Good Morning All!!! I hope you had a great weekend!!! I must let you know something, the next couple of days I might not be around as much depending on what happens with the weather in my area. I live in the Panhandle of Florida right smack dab where Hurricane Ida is due to make landfall. While its only a Cat 1, it is our first hurricane (for my family) and we are trying to get things prepared for the massive amounts of rain we are suspecting that we are going to get and there is a chance with any storm that we might lose power! SO I apologize now...however on the bright side, I am a high school teacher in the area and because a couple of our schools are evacuation centers, we do not have school until Thursday!! WOOT!!!!

So since I can't be in my classroom this morning I'm going to have you guys do an activity that I do with my students with a bit of a Disney twist (sorry I'm a Disney nerd LOL). I'm also a big quotations nerd...I like to share quotes with my students in hopes of either making them laugh, making them think, or both LOL!!

QOTD for Monday: What Disney movie quotation best describes how you are feeling today????? (I try to get my students to "own" their feelings and become intuned to those feelings and find ways to express themselves with creativity.)

For me this morning the quote I need to embrance... "HAKUNA MATATA"...it means no worries - The Lion King, I have to admit this whole hurricane in November business has me a little worried! I'm a newbie to this stuff, we moved to Florida from Alaska, but I'm trying really hard to keep myself busy and not freak out!! LOL!!! SO thanks for listening guys!!

Have a great Monday...and if any of you also live down here in the Gulf Coast...stay dry!!!

Thanks, pjlla! Both a little nervous. I'm going to try and keep myself busy while I wait to go back and pick him up. I have a neighbor watching the girls while I go back to the hospital to pick him up after they get out of school. Wish it was in the morning. He's so hungry and I made stir fried veggies for my supper which he loved the smell of. Gonna stop and pick him up something on the way home and then order subs for supper!
Hoping to get the girls in bed by 7:45 so I can fit the whole 3 miles in on the elliptical. Of course, I'm drinking my water tonight so I may have to stop during the workout once or twice. LOL
I bought a size 12 Lee jean today that were almost a perfect fit. I plan on wearing them tomorrow. I tried on the St. John's Bay brand size 12 and they were REALLY loose!

Writing about my workouts also inspires me to get off the couch and workout. If I don't write it I won't do it but if I write it 9 times out of 10 I will do it. Except for this morning when I decided to stay in bed a little longer. I knew I'd fit in at least 1 workout today and maybe 2. Time for glass # 3 of water! Enjoy your workout!

Well, thanks to your inspiration I did a 20 minute Muscle Mile WATP and an extra 5 minutes of upper body free weights.

I LOVE shopping at JCP because the clothing sizes to tend to run bigger than othr brands. I currently own a pair of size 4 corduroys that are SJB brand from JCP and they fit GREAT.

Sending a prayer up for you and DH right now............P

I don't know what I was thinking but I made a cream cheese brownie pie from the Pillsbury Best of the Bakeoff cookbook this weekend and now I only have 2 more weekly allowance points for the next 2 1/2 days plus I still have a half a pie in the fridge! Last time I made a pie I gave a bunch of slices to my family members but this time they are all away on vacation. My next option was to take it in to work but I may not get to go to work as my kids are sick. DS got a fever again today and now dd is getting it too!

Sarah

Wow.... good luck avoiding the pie! It sounds scrumptious. Maybe you could freeze it in individual portions and save it for another day??

I hope your kids get better quick. Mine were sick last week, but for the most part it was mild and they recovered quickly.

I will CERTAINLY be thinking of you and praying for you, your family, and your home. I did hear on the news this morning that it was going to be downgraded to a Tropical storm, so that might help you.

I'm sure, living in hurricane territory, that you have an emergency kit already set up, but remember medications, credit cards, and MONEY... plus any pet supplies you might need. I'm sure you all will be fine.

QOTD for Monday: What Disney movie quotation best describes how you are feeling today?????

Well... its an easy one for me "just keep swimming"!! I got assigned to substitute for the GYM teacher today. It is an assignment I really dislike! But it is supposed to be a decent day (weather-wise) so I will be taking the kids out if possible. And I will try HARD to get my own workout in while working with the kids. (I didn't do my early am workout.... I just couldn't haul myself up this morning!) So even if the class is loud and/or obnoxious, I will "just keep swimming" until 3pm!! (and of course, then on to coaching Robotics, driving DD to swim practice, working out while she is swiming, then driving her to Rainbow Girls and hitting the grocery store while she is at Rainbow... then a 30 minute drive home, unload the groceries, and hit the pillow!).....................P

QOTD for Monday: What Disney movie quotation best describes how you are feeling today?????

This is a good QOTD!
I would say "a dream is a wish your heart makes" more of a song then a quote, but if I keep dreaming, I know I can survive Monday!!!!

I had a good weekend. Got yard work done, exercise and shopping. Hoping for a drama free Monday- we will see.

JENJOLT- Good luck with the hurricane, my cousin and her family moved from Washington to Florida for the Navy and had some adjustments to make because of the weather. I am sending good, non-scary weather thoughts your way!:goodvibes

Have a Magical Day Everyone!!!!pixiedust:

Wednesday's QOTD:

What do you do to keep the "Disney Magic" alive in your house on a daily basis?

Right now we have our countdown chain going for our trip (only 17 more days!). The Disney Channel is on pretty much 24/7 in our house. We listen to Wishes in the car sometimes. Whenever we see the Airtran planes taking off we say, "Take me with you! I want to go to Disney!" We read Disney guidebooks and spend time on the disboards since we're always planning our next trip.

Today's QOTD:

Well... the folks from the BL tv show have seen our threads... and they want to talk to us about helping with their next book!! But there are so many of us that we can only contribute ONE SENTENCE each. What could you say, in one sentence, to help others get on and stay on a healthy lifestyle plan??(There can't be ANY repeats.)

Weight loss doesn't happen by itself. You have to make it a priority every time you put something in your mouth.

QOTD: What one Disney Character would you choose to be your "motivational" or "accountability" partner on your weight loss journey????

Mine would be Dory. I even sang "Just Keep Swimming" when I was riding my bike this summer whenever those last couple miles got tough.

I wanted to ask you this weekend's QOTD (well two days, tomorrow is church day and I will be very busy with that). It is helpful to me to know what my biggest weaknesses will be and identify them and then come up with a strategy to help me not fall when faced with that.

SO....what big temptations this holiday season do you know you will be facing and what one tip can you share with us on how you plan to make it through when it gets tough???

My biggest temptation is Archway Stars and Bells cookies. Since MikeSells bought Archway, I'm not even sure if the cookies will be the same this year, but you can bet I'll be trying them to find out. I'm going to do what I did last year and separate them into ziploc baggies with 4 cookies each and limit myself to 1 serving a day. I went through 5 packages of them last year, and everyone in the house knows that those are mom's cookies and you better not touch them! We'll be at WDW eating at 1900 Park Fare for Thanksgiving, so lots of healthy options. I need to find out how many points are in the chilled strawberry soup because I love it! No idea what we're doing for Christmas. I'm working, so we may just make a big breakfast after opening presents and then DH and the kids can head up to his parents if they want because I'll need to sleep all day. I'll probably make french toast stuffed with FF cream cheese and strawberries.

QOTD for Monday: What Disney movie quotation best describes how you are feeling today????? (I try to get my students to "own" their feelings and become intuned to those feelings and find ways to express themselves with creativity.)

Once again, I have to go with "Just Keep Swimming".

I kinda put the weight loss effort on the back burner while getting things prepared for my brother to come home. Our basement wasn't really intended as living space, but we've torn loose plaster off the walls, sprayed everything down with a pressure washer and fungicide, painted with masonry waterproofer, and put down some vinyl and indoor/outdoor carpet. It's not a Disney resort by any means, but it's quite a transformation and I think he'll be comfortable down there after living in Viet Nam for the last year. He made it home safely last night and we took him to his favorite pizza place, then had cake at home that my girls had made for him. It said, "Welcome Home Uncle Doc" with an American flag on each side. Of course they cut it and started eating before I got a picture of it! Today I'm taking DB job hunting and I have to do some major grocery shopping. I think I'll take the dog for a walk later for my exercise since it's so nice out. I didn't get to enjoy the warm weather over the weekend since I was working in the basement the whole time. I wanted to go for a walk now, but the dog is snoring away, so I think I'll shower and get the errands done first, and we can get our walk in after lunch. I really need to get a few more pounds off before vacation!

I've been a maniac this morning. Got up and did 2 miles on the elliptical, after putting DD1 on bus came back and did the 3 mile WATP. Took DD2 to school and then went to the grocery store and came home and did the 2 mile WATP! It's stress talking! Taking DH to hospital now for his colonoscopy! I'm only up .4 since Friday and hope to be down 2-3 for the week as long as I don't eat too much during the week! Getting subs for supper but planning on doing roast beef on a pita with lettuce and pickles. I will add my own lite mayo or mustard. May have some onion rings but I think I earned them and will work them off at dancing tonight.
Done rambling!

Gotta think about the QOTD! Anyone help based on what I wrote above?

Have a great day everyone!

A great big THANK YOU to eveyone on this thread - thanks to all of you posting your motivations and what you do for your workouts and how you make them happen I am proud of myself the past three days...you have all contributed to my motivation! Yesterday all day was at a cheer competition - downtown at the convention center, junk food everywhere. Although I did have a soft pretzel, no cheese, I also had a plain turkey sandwich instead of the yummy nachos the skinny tweens were running around eating.:rotfl2: I wore my pedometer and walked around while waiting for dd's comp and walked 3 miles! These are positive choices!

Saturday - I had to work 5 hours. After that instead of lounging I went out and walked my puppy!

On to today...my older puppy had surgery on her "knee" and came home Friday, she has to be kept as still as possible, so we have her blocked in the family room. DH sat with her most of the weekend. She is still in pain and gets agitated when we leave because of course she wants to get upstairs - but she can't use the stairs and is a 90 pound beast so down here she stays! Anyway - today is my day with her, and tomorrow too. I lounged around for a few hours and then - drum roll - rediscovered my bl workout dvd and did a 45 minute workout! woo hoo!! when dd gets home from school I'll have her sit with the dog while I walk the other one.

Yes I know I'm bragging on myself, I am feeling quite proud of my choices right now. And seriously thank you all!

Sarah- thanks for posting those pictures, you look sooooo great! I see your 50 pound clippie and get envious, and sometimes beat myself up when I slip - "if I had stayed on track I'd be closer to my clippie" and "that's what you get when you don't slip up, a 50 pound clippie." When you said that you've been working on it and have gone been back and forth I realized it's okay to do 2 steps forward, 1 step back.

Jen - stay dry and safe!

My favorite Disney quote...I have two..."whistle while you work" and "just a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down. ":thumbsup2 No matter how awful the job/exercise (ha!) it doesn't last forever and I'll get through it quicker with a whistle and a spoonful of splenda.:rotfl2:

QOTD for Monday: What Disney movie quotation best describes how you are feeling today????? (I try to get my students to "own" their feelings and become intuned to those feelings and find ways to express themselves with creativity.)

The only ones I could think of came from songs, so I went looking and came up with some gems.

From The Lion King"

"The past can hurt. You can either run from it or learn from it." - Rafiki

And this one from Finding Nemo:

"I am a nice shark, not a mindless eating machine. If I am to change this image, I must first change myself. Fish are friends, not food."—Bruce

All right, so I'm not a shark and I don't eat fish, but it is still a struggle not to behave like a "mindless eating machine!"

From Bambi:

"Eating greens is a special treat. It makes long ears and great big feet. But it sure is awful stuff to eat."—Thumper

I totally disagree with that last part, Thumper! Sometimes it is too easy to have this attitude though about the stuff we "should" eat, though.

I thought this one from Mulan was just lovely:

The flower that blooms in adversity is the most rare and beautiful of all."—The Emperor of China

These are not from movies, but here are a couple from the man himself:

"All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them" - Walt Disney

"All the adversity I've had in my life, all my troubles and obstacles, have strengthened me... You may not realize it when it happens, but a kick in the teeth may be the best thing in the world for you." - Walt Disney

And finally the one from Mulan I thought of off the top of my head (probably because it is in my running mix and therefore seared into my brain:

"Tranquil as a forest, but on fire within; once you find your center, you are sure to win." - Shang

Hope I didn't take anyone else's - I was surprised at how many I found that spoke to me about this journey!

Hey there! Had kind of an off week all week last week. Ended up gaining and am still trying to get back down to where I was the 30th. Hope everyone is doing fantastic. Going to try and catch up a little before I have to go home from work. Been so slow today. Will run W9D2 of the Cto5K this afternoon when I get home. THings are going great as far as that is concerned. I just wish I had my eating aligned with my exercise. I can't seem to do good at both right now.

It was busy but fun weekend. I'm tired today, because I stayed up late Friday and Saturday night playing games, and didn't get to sleep in. Didn't make it onto Disboards the last couple days, but I'm all caught up now.

Eeyore's Butterfly and Sahbushka - thanks for sharing the pictures :goodvibes

tigger813 - wow, you are on a roll for excercising! you and pjlla are animals! (I mean that in a good way :goodvibes )

jenjolt - hope all is okay with the hurricane :goodvibes

SO....what big temptations this holiday season do you know you will be facing and what one tip can you share with us on how you plan to make it through when it gets tough???

well, I think we'll be at home for Christmas, so I'm in control of the menu. I'll be making sure there's some healthy choices I like and some of what everybody likes, so it will be a great season. I have ordered some chocolates from DD's fundraiser, and since they are delicious and expensive its easier to savour them. Last years lasted a few months because I don't want to rush through them.

QOTD for Monday: What Disney movie quotation best describes how you are feeling today????? (I try to get my students to "own" their feelings and become intuned to those feelings and find ways to express themselves with creativity.)

Okay, today, I am really not in the mood for work, not feeling motivated. So I'm really feeling like "just keep swimming, just keep swimming" to get through the day :goodvibes

Well I had to think about this one a long time!
Obviously there are so many that I cant even remember.
When I was going thru a difficult time I listened to Classic Disney CD #5 (I think) and this is a favorite quote from that:

"Though the steps he takes are infinitely small
They're a step in the right direction after all".
Its from "Bedknobs and Broomsticks"

I have really enjoyed reading all of your posts.:grouphug:

ooooh I like that!!:thumbsup2

Thanks for all the prayers for DH. He came through it fine. They found 2 small polyps and he has diverticulosis. He's very sleepy tonight but doing well. He'll probably head to bed soon.

Irish Step was great tonight! I'm wiped and man was I sweating! Had a really yummy eggplant parmesan for lunch and had roast beef on a pita with lettuce and pickles and miracle whip lite for supper.

Couldn't come up with a quote for today's QOTD.

Tomorrow will be 2 miles on the elliptical, 2 mile WATP, a 75 minute hot stone massage (which I were receiving but it's a work out for me), and then 3 miles on the elliptical while watching BL tomorrow night. Hoping to be 163 by Friday!

Bought a pair of size 10 Lee Rider jeans today at KMart and they FIT! and were only $14.99. Going back another day this week to get 2 more pairs!!!!

I had a run in with pie today....3 pieces which puts me way over my points for the week. So frustrated! I really wanted to hit 4 weeks in a row with a loss but it is unlikely now. I will try to pick it up and do better and we will see what the scale says but it is frustrating!

Okay - haven't been on in a while -- was feeling pretty lousy last week with a head cold. Didn't get in any exercise and just basically sniffled, sneezed and medicated my way through the week. I did manage to take off a pound but only because I stayed out of the pantry and mostly in bed instead! :lmao: But, then we had a gathering of friends at our house on Saturday -- our annual Chili-fest and it went downhill. Ate too much, drank too much and basically had a great time! But, I'm paying for that now and have to re-loose the pound I lost last week. But I'm back OP today and hopefully it will disappear quickly.

Monday QOTD...Change is nature. The part we can influence. And it starts when we decide. (Remy - Ratatouille)

I can make a change for the better -- I have decided to get healthy by losing the extra pounds I've been carrying around!

Oh, and then there's this one -- that mouse is one smart cookie :thumbsup2 If you are what you eat, then I only wanna eat the good stuff. - Remy

Of course the good stuff is different from what it used to be -- it's now the healthy stuff and although it still tastes good -- it's different from what I used to think was the good stuff, that ended up being the bad stuff, which got to be too much stuff in places that I don't want stuff sticking too! :lmao:

QOTD:

From Cinderella, the Fairy Godmother said, "Even miracles take a little time."

This is my fave disney movie for many reasons. I love this quote. It means so much to me in just plain everyday life but even more in my weight loss journey.

Hmmmmm...

I think my quote would be from Beauty and the Beast: "I want adventure in the great wide, somewhere. I want it more than I can tell. And for once it might be grand, to have someone understand, I want so much more than they've got planned."
