Biggest Loser 8 Fall Challenge -- for losers and maintainers!

Congrats to all the losers this week!! You are all motiviational!!:woohoo: I am a maintainer, which I'll take - being on 3 new meds, one which is a steroid has been a struggle!! Yesterday I was SICK all day b/c of some bad med interaction, in bed all day. Today though I feel GREAT, made some major adjustments. That's the good thing about being sick, when you feel better it's wonderful. :rotfl:

I need to make some comfort foods, does anyone have a good website with recipes? Stews, soups, casseroles...it's rainy gloomy and in the 40's...definitely weather for warming comfort food!

Congrats pjlla on breaking into the 130s!:cool1:

Cindylou - that will be cool to see Mark & Jay. I think they probably have kept most of the weight off.

jennz - hope you're feeling better today!

mullysisters - winterizing a farm sounds like a lot of work. Have you had the first snowfall yet?

:grouphug: to everyone for sharing those embarassing moments.

Hi all,

Congratulations to all the Big Losers this week. Keep it up!

Somehow I managed to lose weight this week too. I thought with cutting back my exercise to taper for my marathon I might not lose. A nice surprise that I did.

I found out that Mark and Jay Kruger the brothers that were on BL season 5 will be running the same marathon that I will on Sunday. It will be interesting to see if they've kept their weight off.

Have a great week everyone.
Cindy

Ohmygosh how fun! I'd like to look up a few of last years show- the gal with the 2 tone hair that stayed till almost the end I was really thinking about last night. I'd like to find her blog if she has one.

Actually, I do have those, but they are not in the car. Those are my "kitchen" CDs.... I listen to them when I am cooking and cleaning. I bought them on our trip to DL in 2005 and I am INSTANTLY transported back to that trip when I listen to the music. When I die, I hope they play the Soarin' soundtrack at my funeral. It is the BEST!

Well folks.... I took a sneak peek at the scale and guess what?! ...... I finally broke into the 130's!!! I am not counting it as official yet (that is what the Friday weigh-in is for), but I have said for a while that the day the scale shows 139 (or less) I will take a photo of it and that is what I did at 5:50 am this morning!!! It has given me some FABULOUS encouragement to finish up today and tomorrow STRONG!! I would hate to not see that number on Friday for the official weigh-in... it would be too discouraging! That is a GREAT Picture of the Day (for those who scrapbook, I am doing the Project 365).

Well... I am subbing in Kindergarten today and tomorrow, so I better get moving... those kids don't wait very patiently! I hope everyone has a great day. Stay OP, keep moving, keep drinking your water!.................P

FAbulous! I hadn't really thought of the reality of getting into the 130's wow. I've still got a ways to go but the fact it's even doable seems so strange to me.

I'd like some good healthy crockpot recipes for soup if anyone knows any websites to give me a kick in the rear to start doing it.

QUOTD Wednesday:

What movie makes you laugh? I mean really laugh--rotfl.

I thought of this because The Money Pit was on last night when I was skimming channells and I had to stop and watch. It always makes me laugh out loud. Next would be Bringing up Baby with Katharine Hepburn and Cary Grant, then Monkey Business. The part when Cary Grant joins the 'indians' absolutely kills me lol.

Hey everyone, Happy Hump Day YIPPEE!!!
I am SO DELIGHTED to be the 2nd Biggest Loser for last week!!
Unfortunately, I doubt I will even lose this week, being a woman can affect the scales quite differently at different times of the month :rolleyes1

I am looking at one day, winning biggest loser of the week and proudly having that signature. I am shooting for 3 weeks from now. Funny how different things motivate you isn't it? :)

Embarassing Moment..
When my husband weighed himself, and I was 10lbs heavier!! (My husband is 6'6") :scared1:

Movie that makes me laugh out loud
NAKED GUN..OMG..is there a funnier movie? Kills me!

A big congratulations to TammyAlphabet our biggest loser this week and all our other superstars! :thumbsup2 I see some new names on the list. :goodvibes

jennz, hope that you are feeling better.

That was an interesting Halloween mix list, 50sjayne. You reminded me of a few songs I haven't heard in awhile -- like Elton John.

I have to think about the QOTD and post an answer later.

DS woke up sick today. Took him to the doctor because H1N1 is running through our school and it is probably swine flu so we all get to be on Tamiflu for a bit here. :sad2:

DH is home with DS today and it will be my turn tomorrow.

Have a great OP day all!

QUOTD Wednesday:

What movie makes you laugh? I mean really laugh--rotfl.

Mister Mom (1983) with Michael Keaton and Terri Garr. It will run every once in a while on T.V. and I practically pee myself laughing everytime I see the scene when the baby gets ahold of a can of chili beans. The next scene is him changing the diaper in a gas mask. :rotfl2::rotfl::rotfl::eek:

Mister Mom (1983) with Michael Keaton and Terri Garr.

Ha! "220, 221, whatever it takes." I use that one all of the time and so few get it. That and "Jack, you're doing it wrong". Cracks me up.

Ronda

I had a really hard time thimking of a movie that made me laugh. Boy thats kinda sad, isnt it? Mostly I don't watch comedy.
Anyway, I did finally think of one that I keep finding when I'm looking for something to watch, then I watch whatever is left of it. I think it's called "College Road Trip" with Martin Lawrence and that pretty young girl Raven-Symone. I really laughed when the little pig eats the coffee beans and crashs the wedding. Donny Osmond is absolutely hilarious. Good fun.

HMMMMM...my post from earlier didn't show up?

Oh well, I love Momma Mia and Love Actually! Something about Hugh Grant dancing to JUMP! There are so many hilarious scenes!

Congrats to the BL this week! I'm psyched that I made the TOP 10 for the third week in a row. Maybe someday I'll be number 1! I won't stop until I reach my goal weight! Just finished supper so I will go down to do the Wii in a bit! Had a good day with my food intake today. Still drinking my water. Did a 2 mile WATP this morning and then gave a 75 minute Hot Stone Massage! Hope to do 30-60 minutes on the Wii tonight. Got my Skinny Cows again so I won't ruin my hard work with fattening desserts!

Have a great night everyone!

Lisa - oh no, I hope the flu misses you and your ds recovers quickly!! All this healthyl living has to help though right? ;)

CindyLou OMG "I want my two dollars!" :lmao: I said that the other day and it even took DH a few seconds to catch on...:headache: I LOVE that!!

LuvBaloo - when Goldie is sitting there in a stupor and the kids are lobbing grapes at her! :rotfl2:

I am also a Mama Mia fan - I don't think you can watch that movie without a smile.

One of my favorites is Something About Mary...:rolleyes1 Cameron Diaz is great in that!

Mullysisters...I am going to check out that website! Thanks!

50sjayne - I am making vegetable beef barley soup in the crock pot tomorrow...1# beef stew meat, onions, green beans, stewed tomatoes, V8, corn, beef boullion and something else...oh yea barley! I forgot about this recipe from my Cook it Lightly and Forget It book. It is tasty! Should be good tomorrow - nasty wind chills in the 30s here today and rainy and cold again tomorrow...perfect for soup! I'd make some bread too but I'd end up eating 1/2 the loaf myself.:flower3:

Thanks for the well wishes everyone, I am feeling much better today, it was "just" a problem with meds lol. I haven't been that bad in years! Just very exhausted now - I am going to do some yoga stretches on my wii fit and read and go to bed early.

Did another 2 mile WATP workout and then did 20 minutes on the Wii Fit PLUS. I love the rhythm parade and bike race. I also did the advanced step and got my highest score ever of 1 miss and 1 OK, I don't know how as I was stepping on it! Oh, well! Going to fix myself my last glass of water for the day and maybe have an apple. Hope to see good numbers in the morning and will have time to workout tomorrow.

OK, I've procrastinated enough! Time to fold 3 HUGE bags of laundry!

I know there is a thread for this but I just had to say that I just finished W1D1 of C25K and I didn't expect it to be that difficult! Wow:scared1:

I'm in worse shape than I thought! I did finish though......I have got to lose some weight.:yay:

50sjayne - Thanks for the list of Halloween songs! I have the Rocky Horror soundtrack playing now, and I was just thinking of making a new CD...

I made it to the top #10! I'm #5! Woohoo!:dance3:
I am so excited, and WAY TO GO for all the other "losers" this week!
It finally stopped snowing this afternoon, so maybe I will head out for a run... mustering some strength to head out in the cold.

Wednesday QOTD:
The Disney movie "Up". I laughed so hard I couldn't breathe and my ab muscles were killing me! When is Disney going to start making those collars so we can hear our own dogs talk?!? :rotfl:

I've been so bad eating this week it's ridiculous. I thought I was feeling bad just because I'm tired and stressed, but it turns out I've got strep throat! At least now I know why I've been feeling so cruddy, and hopefully I'll start feeling better soon with the meds.
