Tues QOTD: What's your favourite Disney movie? cartoon, live-action, whatever you like

I think mine is obvious. :lmao:

Cinderella has been my favorite movie/character since I was a little girl. I love how she worked hard to make here dreams come true. That is what I am doing with my weight loss goals. Step by step i will make them come true!:wizard:

This challenge is awesome, i love reading everyone else's posts, learning about everyone and losing together!:goodvibes

Have a Magical day!pixiedust:

I forgot to mention: (now you've got me started!!)

Thomasina, Miracle of the White Stallions, and Moonspinners.

When we were very little kids our Township used to show these movies at the primary school in the gym. We just sat on the floor - I can't imagine my nieces and nephews doing that today !!

PS I just walked our pony 1.7kms and rode 5kms (does that count as exercise?)

Uggg.

I feel no motivation! I have this great vacation to look forward to and it's a wonderful reason to lose but I just can't get into it. I have to be in a certain mindset and it's just not here. I know I can because I've done it before. I just lost 40 pounds in about 6 months (only to gain most of it back) so I know what I need to do but I have no motivation. I keep telling myself, "you have a year to lose 50 or so pounds so you'll be fine" when in all reality I know I'll be scrambling to lose all 50 in the last few months and mad at myself cause I had all this time so what more do I need?

I know why I want to lose it and I know how to lose it but I don't know why I can't get into the groove. Help me!

The walking part counts but I'm sure there was some energy expended riding.

Slow any steady wins the race, most of the time.

I'm hooked on exercise again! And I'm down 2.2 pounds so far for the week.

I've had most of my water today and done the 1 mile and 2 mile WATP. Gonna try to do 30 minutes of free step while watching BL tonight. I also gave an hour massage today. I'm a massage therapist and I find that I get a good workout giving a massage. I was working up a major sweat!

Off to have another glass of water!

Hope everyone else is doing well!

Tues QOTD: What's your favourite Disney movie? cartoon, live-action, whatever you like

These are the tough ones. I am going to choose only one. And I am going to choose it based on which one I would most like to have in my minivan's DVD player for 2 months without relent. And the winner is:

Leroy and Stitch.

OK, it was a direct to DVD, and I hang my head with the shame of it, but it cracks me up every single time. That business about Gantu's knee. And the Backity back. And "I have my OWN army and I have them riding in the frontity front!"

Honorable mentions go to:

Atlantis, Lilo and Stitch, Little Mermaid, Treasure Planet and finally in the Live Action category, The Cat from Outer Space. Anyone else remember that one?

Oh, I forgot to ask if anyone else is as excited as I am that THe Biggest Loser starts tonight? I can't wait. I have a meeting from 5:30-6:30 and then I have to get my girls from my mom's and should get home just in time to watch it. I'm so lame that my sister invited me over for dinner but I don't want to miss it so I declined. I told her I am to tired. LOL! Maybe I'll get my ball out and exercise on it while the show is on like I used to when I was actually kicking butt and getting rid of major pounds.

I've never heard of Thomasina, and Miracle of the White Stallions.:confused3 I think I have Moonspinners on VHS.:thumbsup2.

Can you try breaking it down? You want to lose 50lbs in 1 year, so 4lbs a month. Would it help to put a picture of your vacation location up with a picture of the outfit you want to wear? I've stuck things up inside the bathroom cabinet mirrow, so when I'd open it every morning I'd see it. You might already have the clothes since you said you've been at that weight before. Before my last cruise, I had a dress I wanted to wear on semi-formal night, and I hung it on the side of my dresser where I could see it. It hung there for 3 months, but helped stay focussed.

Enjoy watching the show tonight! Maybe just watching it will give you the motivation you are looking for.:goodvibes

I really enjoy Lion King 1-1/2, which was direct to video and DH & I laughed at way more than our kids did.:lmao:

Tues QOTD: What's your favourite Disney movie? cartoon, live-action, whatever you like

Peter Pan....Mary Poppins....Cars....and all of the other ones too!

Questions for all of you: Can all of this water make you GAIN weight?

Aaaaahhhh!

Good afternoon. Just had a few minutes at work, with noone around to check in and post. I don't usually get too much free time at work. I am excited about the show tonight. I have exercised every day since last tuesda, and tonight I'm going to to the wii free step for the first half hour of the show, and then have my ww fudge bar. That's my plan, and I'm sticking to it. It helps me to follow through when I say or type it.

dizzyfordisney- I think drinking all this water could make you gain a little weight if you are eating a lot of higher sodium foods, but not usually. I have also heard that if you are exercising more regularly, and more than your body is used to, that the muscles do retain some water, and you can gain a little, or not lose as much.

ShortyNBug-:grouphug: I like luvbaloo's answer to you, and the idea of breaking it into smaller goals, and having some clothes to work towards. I like to commit to doing one healthy thing for a week. Like for me, I will pledge to journal my food this week, or to exercise 3 days/week this week. Also, it's great you joined this challenge, and coming here for inspiration, support, and ideas can be so helpful. Hang in there! :hug:You can do it!!

Molli- on the woman thing- (sorry guys) I think you can be peri-menopausal for several years before you completely go through menopause, and have symptoms like you are having, and be irregular. I would want to see an md, incase there is anything else going on, but I think it can happen anytime after 40. I'm 45, and things are definitely different over the past couple years, and lately, I think I'm starting to have hot flashes.

Hope you all have a good evening, and get inspired if you're watching BL tonight. From the previews I've seen, I think we'll need lots of tissues. :rotfl:

I'm going to do the first 30 minutes on the wi free step during the show too! I already had my Skinny Cow bar for the day but am enjoying another 16 oz glass of water!

Mary Poppins is a favorite. Fully animated is hard b/c there are some many good movies but I'll go with the Lion King (for today). Cartoon features I like are the ones with J. Audubon Woodlore and Humphrey the Bear.

"First you stick a rag, put in the bag, bump bump
Then you bend your back, put it in the sack, bump bump
That's the way it's done, it's a lot of fun, bump bump
Cuttin' capers puttin' papers in the bag"

My grandma and I used to sing this while dancing around the kitchen baking and we would bump behinds during the bump bump part! One of my favorite memories!

I understand what you are saying. I had the same issue for a while. I knew I needed to lose weight but I just wasn't feeling it. What I did to help get me in the right mindset was to start doing other things to make me feel better about myself. I got the trays made and I whitened my teeth, I painted my toenails, got a facial and had a massage and I also got a haircut. All of these things made me feel better about myself and I liked the feeling and finally had the right mindset to work on my weight as well. Maybe try doing some things that make you feel better about yourself and see if that helps you! Good luck! I know you can do this!

I haven't tried the wii free step - for some reason I'm intimidated. Don't ask me to explain that one!! :lmao: It said you can do it while you enjoy your tv shows...does it still have steps to follow or do you just climb on and off for as long as you can?

ShortyNBug....I struggle w/daily motivation too...sometimes it helps to say "for the next hour" and actually do it that small...and for me, to remember it's a choice. Yes one day I will have McDonald's fries again!! But not today. Hope that helps a little...

and yes our whole family watches BL. Since they've gone to the 2 hour format we tape it and watch it w/dd (she's 11 and 10pm is too late for her) the next day. I usually cheat and watch it that night and then again though.:woohoo:

It gives you a beat to step to. You start it and then put whatever show you want to on. It will tell you how much time you have left, how many steps you've done at 100 step intervals. If it's too slow you can speed it up. It's not fast enough but it will do. You have to start with 10 minutes but it does go up to 30 minutes. Doing the 10 minutes will show you how it works! I will sometimes do side steps but mostly up and down. I hope to get the riser for the step for Christmas. It's on my wish list. You can also change which foot leads as it does in the video of it.

It's not that bad. I can't wait for the Wii Fit Plus to come out next month as there are more things on the balance board to do. Sports Active is also fun to do.

I am really excited but it usually takes me a few weeks to really really get into the show and that only happens once I know the contestants better.

Now for the QOTD: I think for me it's a tie between Finding Nemo and Aladdin I thought Robin Williams nailed it as the Genie

We're really excited about watching Biggest Loser again too. Except now, we are eating Skinny Cows while watching it instead of Dreyers!

QOTD - My Disney favorites are:
Animated - Lion King (seems to change every month)
Live Action - POTC: Curse of the Black Pearl
Pixar - Toy Story

And Shannon, I Luv Baloo too! He's always been my favorite Disney character.

Are we allowing people in that are a tad late to the party? LOL! If so I'd love to join. I am in need of some motivation I have really given up trying to lose weight and well, you can tell. Since March I put on 20 pounds!!! Now I do believe my Thyroid disease has something to do with it and I am now taking a good dosage so I'm hoping the pounds will start to come off.

I think I saw that Luvbaloo (something close to that) is the weight keeper. Should I email/pm her my weight then?

Anyways, Thanks and good luck. Can't wait to start watching Biggest Loser tonight!

For the QOTD: Mulan is my favorite movie I absolutely love that movie! Followed by Beauty and the Beast.
