Biggest Loser 5 Week 3

I'm still working on last week's quiz. I took the food challenge and got 8 right and 4 wrong. Not bad.

How do I eat healthy when there is no time to cook. I try to have some pre washed veggies on hand and also some fruit so I can just grab and go. I also keep low fat granola bars and 100 cal packs of snacks so I don't get too hungry.

I'm only down .8, but I'll take it. I know I'm getting stronger at the gym. Things that were impossible 6 weeks ago I can do now.

I didn't post from last week how I eat when I don't have time to cook...
I ask my husband what he's making :rotfl2:

Actually, I throw together a fruit smoothie with 1/2 banana, some strawberries, Fat Free Lactaid milk, a scoop of whey protein, and sometimes a dash of flaxseed oil. That's my breakfast when I don't have time to make eggs.

Also, I grab fruit, a cheese snack, nuts, or throw together a boring salad with Fat Free ranch dressing (other times I put more effort into my salads...)

Have a great week everybody!!!!

I'm up a pound today but it's OK because it's bloaty time. I was actually up almost 4, on Monday, so the extra water drinking has done a lot to purge the bloat!!

Now I need to go take a look at the new challenge!:)

Good work everyone!!

Well friends, according to the stress test, I"m a candidate for heart disease - my test score was 61:eek: I knew I was stressed out, but I didn't realize I was that bad

I can already tell that I'm going to do terrible with this weeks points. I can't leave my work at lunch, because I'm alone, and I need to be here. I can't take time to relax, because that is impossible for me to do. Oh well, maybe I can make up with some points next week.

Congrats to everyone for all the hard work! Going to weigh myself in and will be back to report.

I am down 2 pounds this week! :cool1:

I scored a 57 on the stress test -- not too good! I need to work on chilling out a little more. I have a hard time letting stuff slide.

I am down 4.6 pounds this week (I weigh in on Saturdays)!!!! I was very surprised it was that much!!!!!:cool1:

HI

I am down 1 pound this week. Even though the scale does not really reflect a loss, my clothes are fitting a lot differently these days.

Hang in there everyone, we can do this with all the support that is provided on this thread.

If you are a loser, big congrats!

Hey everyone. I am popping in quick to report a 4.2# loss!!!!!

I started my new job and I am doing OK, I just have very limited time now to hit the computer. I plan on coming on tomorrow to read up on all the WISH success stories!

Happy weekend everyone... I can say that now!:woohoo: :woohoo:

Hey everyone! I've lost 4 pounds since I started the challenge but I didn't lose or gain any this week. This past week was not as good as last week. Not enough exercising and too much junk, but I'll try to be better this week.

Oh, I think i was supposed to mention that I did take the quiz last week, and I only got 5 right. I was surprised as I thought I would have gotten more right. I guess that means I need to learn more!:teacher:

Down another pound this week making the total 2 for this challenge. Haven't been feeling very good today. There is a bug making its way through our house.

I did the stress quiz. I got a 39. That's pretty good for me. Years ago I was having a lot of stomach problems and I went to a gastroenterologist. He asked me if I had any stress. I said that that depended on his defination of stress. He asked me what I meant. I said, well, I work full time in Manhatten (lived on Long Island at the time), I have 2 kids and my DH is in medical school. His reply was, "Oh, you have stress!!!" Didn't seem like it to me. Just my daily life! We do what we have to do. Looking back now, I realized that I treated myself with food. I'm trying not to do that anymore.

I am down this week again. :cool1:

I took the stress quiz and got a 46. That is about what I expected.

No gain or loss this week. I've worked a lot and had sick kids on the days I was home, so not ideal, but that's life.

Scored a 57 on the stress test. Not very likely that number will improve any time soon! I've always said if I ever relaxed I'd probably pass out!

i lost 2 lbs this week... YAY! congrats everyone!
i haven't posted in a couple days and this is where i would usually drop out... but i am in this for the long haul! i have to do it this time... this is it!!! i had so many temptations this week. on tuesday i worked the snack bar at my kids baseball field... i chewed my gum the whole night and didn't eat one piece of candy or ice cream!! i was so proud of myself! then another day one of my day care kids brought in this huge piece of chocolate cake left over from her mom's birthday to share with everyone. again i just chewed my gum...

ways i eat healthy when there's no time to cook...
for breakfast i will eat a weight control oatmeal... it takes 90 seconds in the microwave. For lunch I usually have one of those salad kits... I love the Bacon Ranch and Taco Toss and Romano ones. I also eat Lean Cuisines... 3 mins in the microwave. I also like to make those new steam in the microwave veggies... 5 mins. Broccoli, Cauliflower, and Carrots is my favorite. I also just found these Planters Trail Mix- Energy Mix snacks...mmmmm they are so yummy. They have a mixture of nuts and a few chocolate covered soy nuts. And South Beach came out with those packets that you pour into your water bottle called Tide Me Over... it's really yummy too. And they do just that... tide me over!

I had a really bad food night last night, but I going to try and not feel bad about it. We went out to dinner last night for my in-laws 40th anniversary, and I ate everything I shouldn't - including fried onion rings and cake (I didn't eat the icing though). We all need to splurge once in awhile right?!?! :upsidedow

Today I have a booth at a local car to advertise my store. :car:
So, I need to gather some good things to eat while I'm there all day today.

I gotta go and get ready for this show
Have a good day today everyone!!

my score on the stress test was 40. When I do get stressed I exercise, it calms me down and if i don't I would eat anything I see. I am a recovering stress eater LOL!!!

I have been working really hard the last couple of months trying to keep my stress level down and I guess it is working because I scored a 31 on the test. Very close to being non-productive and/or lacking purpose. I don't agreee with that. I think you can have a purpose in life and still be balanced and be unstressed.

Hope everyone is having a great Sat. I went out with friends last night and ate too much but today is another day and I am watching what I am eating very closely today.

Well...I only maintained last week but considering the amount of junk that went into my mouth I should be grateful. Now going to really push myself to eat clean this week and maintain the level of workouts I've been doing and hopefully I will see results next weigh in.

Tried Jillian's 30 day shred video last week but have to say I far prefer the Slim Series (next level of the Slim in 6 program) Not only is there less standing around during transition of diferent moves but overall I feel Debbie gives a workout that's just as tough but maybe not so prone to injury.

Have a great weekend everyone!

well, took the stress test and it's 49, so not far from becoming a bit excessive. don't think there is much I can do about it, sometimes it's just the stage of life you're in: basically too old to have have 3 young kids! :)

I have found more than anything that my biggest weakness is reaching for sweets when I am stressed out. I can crave chocolate like you would not believe! And I only get more stressed out when I don't have it around. If I could get a handle on that, I would be much better off.
hoping to have a better week this week.
