So onto the challenge. "Me" time is primarily scrapbooking. I love reliving those memories as I do the pages for each. If I need quite time I hang out in a hot bath. Interestingly enough, my walks have also become "me" time as well.
Scrapping makes me happy. As I look back on all the fun I have had, I think about all the fun events coming up. My baths relax me. That time helps me clear my head and just "chill". My walks give me pride, for lack of a better way to say it. When I take stock of my day and see that I have walked 10 miles (yes i did 10 yesterday!:woohoo: ) that just gives me such a boost of accomplishment and pride in myself.

I am wearing a sweater at work today that everyone has complimented me on. It fits correctly but I hate it because it is not my usual big and baggy make me look like a barrel thing.:goodvibes It feels weird to have clothing on where the lines are where they are supposed to be and not hanging down to my elbows...:goodvibes A few people have told me I look like I have lost some weight. Ummm let's see only 50 pounds since August but I guess when you are my size you can't see it. :confused3 I need new pants too. I went down one size and the next are beg. to sag badly. I have them tied but they keep falling. Hmmm maybe if I put the drier on super high for cotton:rotfl: Have a great day team.

Good job Annette & Amanda.

It must be good to have the support right in your house.

hang in there we all have ups days and down days!!!!

maybe next cruise I will have company walking deck 10 in the am!!!!!

have a great Wednesday.

Michele-Congratulations on the weight loss. Annette also wears the big and baggie clothes because she doesnt like them to touch her. This drives me insane:eek: The reason people cant see your weight loss is because there is so much fabric in the clothing you are wearing that it hides all of the good things you are doing for yourself. Do something more for yourself and buy at least a couple of shirts/sweaters and pairs of pants. Then burn the old stuff!!! dont just throw it away because you will keep it around saying you are donating it and it never leaves! This will make you feel better and your self esteem with go thru the roof.

Joannel- I will definetly be walking on the cruise. We are doing the Everest race the following weekend. I also will have to work off all the great food.

Hear Ye, Hear Ye, the Weight Keeper speaks

This info is late and out of date but I still wanted to share it with you. Some of you seem to be getting frustrated and stalled. I myself have been in a low place but I am getting back in the game and want to encourage you too.

At 5 weeks we had 69 participants in our challenge. 2 were newbies that just joined. Of the 67 regulars for 5 weeks we had

3 gains
2 maintains
32 losing 1-5 pounds
22 losing 6-10 pounds
6 losing 11-15 pounds
1 losing 16-20 pounds
1 losing 21-25 pounds

We started weighing 14746.6 pounds and ended week 5 weighing 14350 pounds with a net loss of 396.6 pounds. That is an average loss of 5.919 pounds per person, not bad for 5 weeks. Our average percentage of weight lost per person was 2.689%.

Now I would like to recognize our top 23 losers for the first third of the WISH Biggest Loser 4 challenge.

And a:yay: and a :woohoo: and a:rotfl: for ME!!!! I was a tad shocked to see my placing. But it came at a great time.

All the best to everyone. We are all winners for sticking this out. Because I'm sure that we've all had moments of AGRGGGGH.

Thanks Dona for your wonderful wishes. And thank you Brenda for all your calculations. Thank you to all the leaders for keeping this together each and every day.

Lisa

Down 2.2 this week.

For the QOTD - I don't really pay attention to the scale week-by-week. Nor to clothes sizes. Going by this morning's weight, I'm 3.4 pounds from goal

So wonderful to read. How excting allyphoe! Congratulations in advance on meeting your goal any day now! Fantastic.

Lisa

So onto the challenge. "Me" time is primarily scrapbooking.

My 'me' time is shopping for scrapbooking  .. and I occasionally scrap too. My other vice is playing Disney's VMK.

The eight hours should be a breeze for me, as my night time meds don't usually let me wake up before 8 hours. To some 8 hrs might seem like a luxury .. to me it is just annoying I have to sleep so long.

Congrats to all our STAR winners, and thanks for keeping me motivated

Yesterday was the day that wasn't for me.....up at 5:30, get everyone out, then had to go to my annual mammogram....Hoping/praying it's all ok. Will know in about a week. Since I was close to the univ. I called DS18 to see if he wanted to go to lunch. Met him....ate too much, but it was the only meal yesterday. Then he decided he needed to skip 2 of his classes to work on a paper, so I had to hang around down there. Got home at 4:30, left for Zumba class at 5, back home at 7:15 in time to catch BL & go to bed.

So, I didn't get my weight reported til today, but I was down .8. Brings me to 5.2 so far. Not much, but I've always been a slow loser and I'll take it!!!

As for 'me' time.....Baths are about the only time I get to myself, & my kids are 16, 18 & 21!!!! Swimming does almost the same thing, but hard to make it there lately. I also enjoy a good book....mainly Christian fiction & usually while in the bathtub!

Hello everyone! I am new this week to this challenge and to this part of the DIS. It is so encouraging to read all that you guys post. It really makes me feel like I am not going trough this alone. Now a little bit about me. I am a 26 year old wife and mother of two. I am doing WW and feeling pretty well about it. I have been on program for six weeks now but spent two of those at WDW and on the Magic. I still have managed to get down 11 pounds. It is coming off slow but steady. I have another 30 that I am wanting to lose. Thank all of you for sharing your achevements and your struggles with me. I am looking forward to getting to know you guys!

Hi,

Thanks to everyone for posting. I really enjoy reading all the thoughts and concerns we have as a group.

I am so glad to see my name in the list of top losers for this 1/3 way mark. This is inspiring me to "keep on keeping on". We all like seeing our "names in lights, righht? If you name is not on the list, well like Brenda posted, you know what you need to do to get there.

Congrats to all the others!.

I will plug away at this next challenge but the 8 hours sleep a night is not my usual,. 6 to 7 for me does it.

I didn't get a chance to check in yesterday, but I'm down 2.8 pounds this week :woohoo: I had been up a little for the last two weeks so it is good to finally see the scale moving back in the right direction! :cool1:

I'm also Totally Stoked to see that I made the top 23 :woohoo: :cheer2: I really appreciate all the support here because I really couldn't do this without all of you! I know that I have to report in and it helps me to make better choices throughout the week!

Last week's challenge helped to motivate me to exercise which tends to be something I struggle with. This week's challenge is not really me. I Need 8 hours of sleep each night and try to get it most of the time, but DH is on call this week which means that he gets pages all throughout the night. I always wake up with him to which is not good for the ole sleep patterns :sad2:
I am not much on the mani/pedi thing and I can't really think of any old friends I want to contact - I'm the world's worst at keeping in touch :guilty: I'll try to think about ways I can fulfill the challenge though. I guess if it is an area where I find it hard to think of ways to do it, then it is probably a part of my life that is out of balance and needs work.

Congratulations to ALL of us for still being here on this Very important journey :cheer2: Keep up the good work everyone!! :cheer2:

:welcome: mfabre!! Glad to have you with us! We're a wacky bunch, but we're very supportive of each other!

I was kind of bummed to see I'm not even in the running for the 1st 5 weeks, but hopefully that will change now that I seem to be moving along a bit better. Congrats to those who did make it! Does this mean there won't be a list for this week?

I got cleared by my primary today to return to the gym to use the treadmill. Now I just have to get the ok from the ortho, and I'm headed over there for a walk! I never thought I'd be "begging" someone to let me exercise!!!
:lmao:

Hear Ye, Hear Ye, the Weight Keeper speaks

We started the week with 63 participants. 4 folks have not checked in for three weeks and have been dropped from the challenge. Of course they will be welcomed with open arms if they decide to make a report to me in the future. 3 new participants have joined us this week.

:welcome:to Bluesdad that joined us last week, our only current male participant and

:welcome:to mfabre - Michelle, suzieqinga - Kelly, and tinaninea - Tina that have joined us this week.

We have 62 current participants. 16 people did not check in for the week. 7 of them have missed 2 weeks, 9 have missed one week. Two newbies will report their first weight change next week.

44 participants weighed in this week. We had 10 gains, 6 maintains, and 28 losses. This week we had a net loss of 30.4 pounds. That is almost 20 pounds less than last week, we must have had an off week. Our current cumulative loss is 448.3 pounds.

And now (drum roll and fanfare please)

or you can use http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b322/ohmom/weeklyBL.jpg

followed by the backslash IMG "". Congratulations Wendy!!! Be proud of your accomplishment. mom2mimmiemouse - Cathy, last week's reigning Biggest Loser must now give up the clippie. Only one loser may reign at a time.

It's great once again to see some new names as superstars. This is Bluesdad's first weigh in and look where he wound up. Ladies we need to get to work!

To those that were not named superstars this week please don't get discouraged. Keep working hard and your efforts will be rewarded. You might not be named a superstar but the satisfaction of developing healthy habits and having those pants zipping a little easier is also a great reward. You are the true superstars here because you are sticking with the program and you will eventually see results.

Keep up the great work my Biggest Loser teammates we will all be losers before this thing is over.

Have a healthy day!

Congrats to all the losers this week. :cheer2:

Special Congrats to Wendy wghrn:cheer2: :cheer2: Even being out of the action you were still able to lose and be the top winner. Way to go.

Good Thursday morning It is very cold here in Jersey. I am also without a car since ds1's car is in the shop. He has been living at home and communting to college an hour away in my car, so I am stuck to at school until at least 3:30. Yesterday I had a student make up a test. Today I have my sneakers on and I may walk the halls after school. The upper level of the school is approximately 1/4 mile (track team clocked it years ago and that is where they practice during really bad weather.

I have to go now but will be back. I need to ask you guys how to handle a situation.

Have a magical losing day.pixiedust: pixiedust:

Congratulations to Wendy and the other Superstars! Great job!

Dona - Way to make the most of the situation and walking!

Michelle - Welcome to the challenge!! I hope you'll enjoy your stay here and be as encouraged by these other women (and man! - welcome Bluesdad if I didn't say so already) as I have felt.

We've got an icy yucky day out there. It was sleeting when I got up to drive DH to work at 5:30, but the schools hadn't closed yet. DSis was minutes from walking out the door to the bus when they finally popped up our schools. Probably a good idea since it's only supposed to sleet, ice and maybe snow all day long.

And finally in the area of exercise...it's amazing the work out that one can get looking ridiculous. :thumbsup2 DD was watching a Wiggles Christmas DVD last night so I decided that the 48 min of movie was a nice length and that I needed a change up from the bike, so....I danced my way through the Wiggles. It was apparently a sight to see as DSis (12) was laughing at me throughout, but hey, I got my work out in and it was fun! So I don't dance well, I know that, but I also wasn't that bad. I'm sure that I was a sight though. :rotfl:

Good morning everyone!

Congrats to the top 10! Way to go! :thumbsup2

This weeks challenge is kind of split for me. The 8 hours sleep. I've been able to do it the last two nights and actually feel great. Usually I'm more of 6-7 hours sleep. Since I get up at 5 I need to go to bed at 9.

I won't be doing the manicure/pedicure. A pedicure is a treat I'll do before vacation or a cruise but I don't really get enjoyment out of it like some do.

I like the challenge of the date and letter writing so plan to do some of those.

As for what I do for myself. I journal. I try and take time at least a couple of times a week to do it. It is just for me. My hopes, my dreams, what makes me happy and what makes me sad. I also love to scrapbook and plan to do some of that this weekend.

Have a great day everyone!

I can't BELIEVE I am #11, that is WAYCOOL:cool1:

I have to be honest and say I have been discouraged with only losing 10.4 over 7 weeks, but seeing it posted in % of weight lost really helps, I am aiming for a GREAT week

Congrats again to all loser, maintainers and gainers

onward and downward

number 2 for me yahoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was shocked. This really is great with all the support. Thanks guys. Week ends are my hardest with nothing to do i want to munch. I hope it gets nicer out so I can stay outside and away from the TV.

Have a great Thursday.
