Good FRIDAY morning everyone. We made it till Friday. It is so dark and dismal today here in Jersey. Dh is leaving this morning to go hiking in Pa for the weekend with a friend. Ds and I are going to north Jersey tonight to see Beauty and the Beast again at the school that bought the set from ds's school. I can't wait for him to see how wonderful the set looks. He told me that their cast and crew are not as professional as his school (he and some friends spent a Sat showing the cast how the set worked) so it should be interesting to see.

The discussion on food this week has been wonderful to see that even though we are all trying to lose weight we don't think cutting out certain foods will work for the long run. I think one of the major problems with this world is people are not into moderation. Look at how many people supersize at McDonald's.

Have to go. I have a lot to do this morning before classes start.

Have a magical losing day pixiedust: pixiedust:

morning :surfweb: last day of spring break at my house and i forced myself to put my workout clothes on before coming downstairs. so after i finish my cup o' joe i'm heading to the FC for my scheduled 5 mile walk; maybe 5.5 if my feet are feeling good

foxfiregrrl -- i like my wine and my 100 calorie packs :teeth: but i can buy a box of the packs and they last quite a while for me. i don't have them everyday, but i like having the choice when my sweet tooth kicks in. it's a way i feel i can control my portion

Vija -- i feel your pain -- our older car died over a month a ago and we were down to one car for like 4 weeks! but we didn't want to rush a purchase of a new car for that reason, ended up with a CRV and love it

have a great OP day everyone!!!

Oh so sorry to hear about your car! Yes I totally agree, really hate care repairs. Hang in there and do not feel you have to make up for lost Mickey D's time when the car is fixed :lmao:

Have a great weekend, you are doing a family activity, right?

That made me laugh about not making up lost time!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: I have been craving it, makes me realize how addicted I am to it.:sad2:

Thanks for the weekend thoughts... but they have to wait a bit, my last work day for weekends is 4/19, so my first day off of weekends is 4/20. Then the following weekend we are going up north so my DH can put the pier in at my parents lake cottage. I am so excited because we would go to my parents cottage alot before I started weekends! Now I get to go so soon!!!

Last night my roommate was making brownies. So she's an athlete and never a weight issue. So she looks at the recipe she tore out of a magazine and sees Splenda and other low this or that/substitutes and says, "what the heck? What?:confused3 Forget that. Butter's going in. Full chocolate is going in. And sugar is going in". I smiled because it's so opposite to what we are barraged with. Nothing wrong with healthier, though I'm unsure about sugar substitutes, brownies. But she was having none of it. Not for a minute.

I just love this thought process!!!! It prooves all in moderation and go for healthy, non processed stuff!

But like you said you never know what something frustrating is taking you from or away from - even something as awful as an accident. I had a car absolutely die for the last time on my birthday one year (those little Chevettes....so loyal). Anyway, my father goes to pick me up and his car dies. :lmao: Not funny but how is it possible. And a third car had to come.

Hope things go okay Vija. Regardless of all my thoughts I know how frustrating it is.

Hey, how is tae kwon do. It is that right, the class? Forgive me for possibly killing the spelling.

Lisa

THAT IS EXACTLY what I told DH!!!! You never know what the reason is behind these unexpected bumps in the road. I truly feel I was not supposed to be driving during the day for the last couple of days. WHatever the reason may be. God is in control, and I agree with you completely! And BTW, cool that you are in "the spot"! Things work out for a reason and that is a neat story how you came to live in that neighborhood.

and you got the spelling right!:teacher: class last night was great! I had been feeling burnt out a little from running around and trying to manage getting all of us to different activities with 1 car, and I even thought, I would like to have a night off.... but still went and I had one of my best classes so far! Felt really great! Thanks for asking!:flower3:

Great way to get yourself ready to exercise! The last couple of days I have been out walking, and it really is wonderful to get outside after such a long winter. And thanks for the car support! Last night they called and said something else is wrong with it, so it is delayed another day.:headache: But as I said above.... everything happens for a reason!

Hey, what do you guys think about the spin on BL that we get to vote for the 3rd person? So that means that the person won't know in real time (from the time they fell below the yellow line during taping) until we vote... probably until the finale. Oh, that would be overwhelming and frustrating for the person that ends up in 4th place!

Who do you want in the top 3? It is a toss up for me. Right now I really hope Alli gets in the top. Otherwise It doesn't matter. Kelly sometimes I really like, but I get tired of her whining too. Roger used to be a favorite, but now I don't know.... and Mark, well just not quite sure what to make of him.

Who do you think will be the biggest loser from the elimnated contestants? I think if Trent really kept going, he would have a great chance, as well as Dan and Curtis seemed to really be pulling some big numbers.

I love this show, can't wait to see the next installment. Does anyone know when it will start?

Oh man, I must have missed something! We turned over for the Dancing with the Stars final result and I missed the final announcements. Can someone PM me what was said after Jay said goodbye?

As for my choices, I think Alli and then probably Kelly and Roger.

I think one of the major problems with this world is people are not into moderation. Look at how many people supersize at McDonald's.

I'm realizing too that I often did this out of habit or because it was easy to just say "yes" when they'd ask, "Do you want to Supersize that?" Now, if I got to McD I have either a cheeseburger or a 4-piece nugget and a small fry. Usually I even split the small fry with DD. Several years ago I would have gotten a quarter pounder meal, supersized, so what, almost double the meat and triple or more the fries? And am I any less satisfied now? Nope. In fact, I feel better because I'm not stuffed. (Because of course, I had to finish them, can't just throw half the fries away, that would be wasteful. :sad2: )

I usually eat my McDonald's at home because many times I will order the kids meal, sometimes with fries sometimes with the apples. I don't mind getting the prize. But my kid is now almost 18 and taller than me so I kind of have to hide it. :rotfl: :rotfl:

I always get the little kids meal with chicken, apples and juice box when we are on the road and have to stop at fast food. My fiancé has an obsession with Chick-fil-a (usually eats it once a week or so), but it is really easy to eat healthy there (not that he does, but if I am there I take advantage of that fact).

I almost always get the Happy Meal too. DD likes it cause she gets the toy even though she doesn't usually eat McD. We're a Chick-Fil-A family too. My sister has been working there since she was 14yo and hopes to have her own store in the next few years. I like that it is tasty to eat healthy there.

I think the top 3 should be Mark, Ali & Kelly. That way a girl may have a shot, that is if KELLY can kick *** between the end of taping and the finale. Ali has done amazing but won't have the #'s to win. IMO, the person who has the bigger starting number will be the one to win and I think that that will be Kelly, if Roger isn't in the top 3.

I ate too much!!!:lmao:

Okay, let me explain neat. I ate too much really by "accident". It wasn't about emotions or cravings. I just waited too long to eat and then chose too much. I have no bad feelings about it. Nor would I probably if it did have to do with emotions or cravings at this point in my journey. That part is neat. It's just life. Will happen once in awhile.

But this part is the best. It really wasn't that much. But because it was definitely too much I feel physically uncomfortable. And I feel sick. Best is a weird word for that - but it fits. I can't believe that I was okay with feeling uncomfortable by overeating. Actually, of course I can believe it but it's great to be so conscious now that I knew immediately that it was too much and my body told me.

Hope this all makes some sense. :lmao:

Have a great weekend everyone,

Lisa

Hey guys here for a minute to see what you all have been up to

Just home from getting my hair cut and errands and grabbing quick bite to eat and read Lisaviolet saying
I just waited too long to eat and then chose too much.
yep - that is why I grabbed some cottage cheese and applesauce and headed out of the kitchen - too long in there and I may have done some damage :rotfl:

I am bummed this morning about Skybus' announcement - shoot I was hoping that it was going to provide me an opportunity to visit a DIS friend and maybe another WDW visit even.............

Sun is out in OH and probably warmer outside than in the house. I think I need to get out in the sunshine today - I seemed to be smiling and feeling "springing" when I was out there this morning.

My choice for BL is Ali and Kelly - I probably lean for Roger just because Mark did get eliminated once - it does seem that Mark has learned to "respect" others and their feelings while he is on his journey - but thanks PV I think I will check out the site too and see what's posted.

Just heard this morning that the suburb city where I get my hair done (15 min away) had a BL going and last night was their "graduation" and over 900 lbs were lost on the venture :thumbsup2 they are getting another round up and going again.

Have a good weekend everyone - make good choices and don't forget your water (I just remembered I haven't had any today - so off I go)!

:wizard: :wizard: to all for making "strides" in being healthier!

Way to go on your loss Buddy!! :thumbsup2

Hopefully your knee will hold up for the couple of days a week.

I'm down this week too so that is good. :)

You go girl. I decided that it is going to have to be replaced one way or anotherm no choice, I have known since I was in my late 20's and it is not due to weight-although that impacted it. So I am walking and biking. If it gets too bad I will just take a few days off and RICE then get back to it. While listening to my body may be nice, I am a much happier person doing this!;) Glad to see that you are down as well. I am hoping to be dwon again this week but bad TOM and snacking--does anyone else crave crunch and salt and chocolate lol. :scared1: Oh well I did my walk and bike today and have even added this week without reading the challenge until now. Have a great week Kimberly!:goodvibes

Thanks. It's my TOM too so tonight could have been a bit better but again as long as I'm heading in the right direction I'm okay with taking a little detour now and again.

I've been pretty lucky with the knees. Both my mom and my brother had bad knees but I seem to have escaped that particular family curse.

I've been trying to get back into running unfortunately my lungs don't seem to be as cooperative as they were 25 yrs ago LOL. Instead I have been working my way slowly back into it by running a couple of blocks then walking then running then walking etc. It's not as bad as it was and I have a personal goal for myself of doing a mile without walking by the end of April. I guess we'll see how that goes.

Have you heard about the C25K program to get back into running? I am not a runner, never have been, and well I can say that the program does work. I am on week 8 (of 9) and am amazed. Just a thought for you. There is a whole separate WISH thread for C25K.

Good Monday morning It is cold and dark here in NJ and it supposed to be breezy today so it will be really chilly.

I was out last night to a dinner and when I came home dh had to talk since we hadn't seen each other since Friday morning. He went camping over the weekend had had to catch up. Needless to say I didn't get to bed until 11:30. I am so tired.

Off to get some things done at work before classes start.

c25k- It looks interesting- I wonder if you can load it into an ipod to tell you when to run/walk.

There are special playlists you can download to tell you when to do what (walk or run).

Glad you are thinking about trying it. You can also google c25k to get to a website all about it, other than just the WISH thread if there is not enough information there, which there is plenty of support there and helpful information.

Thanks for the input. I know there is much out there. I just plug in my sony MP3 and away I go on the TM with my timer on. I am doing time and not distance right now and will increase my time and speed eventually. Also I plan that once the weather stays pretty decent outside to go out and run. I want to run at least 3 days a week.
