Congrats to all the winners this week, especially LIsa and Wendy. Way to go.

Congrats Vija on your new job. Does it mean a raise since you will be working more days than you are now? It will be taking some getting used to. Enjoy.

I too would like to continue until Memorial Day since my birthday is May 29th.

Thanks Dona. It's a good thing for me to see it there. I feel very uninspiried this week. Extremely.

I too would like to continue until Memorial Day since my birthday is May 29th.:rotfl::lmao:

That's wild Dona. You know as we were PMing, out of the blue, I thought I wonder if Dona's birthday is near mine. Really. Wild.

:surfweb:

Vija,

Is it close to home? Anyway, loved hearing about all your plans for your free weekends. Nice.

Lisa

Hey wait!

Did I already know that Dona? Did we have that on all our initial "tell us about yourself" in the first week. Oh boy, gosh please tell me 40 doesn't bring memory loss.:lmao: I think I knew your birthday.

If 40 doesn't bring around memory loss then 53 certainly does. :rotfl: :rotfl:

Way to go on the new job Vija! The transition may be tough at first, but you'll do great!

I'm celebrating my own personal success lately with my nails. The challenge several weeks ago included giving yourself a manicure and pedicure. Since I was babysitting at my sister's and she had the stuff, I did it that night. Since then, I have not bitten my fingernails! I have white tips showing at the end of every finger and several of them are pretty decent size. I bought a nice file to keep with me for when their tear and to buff them up to look shiny. Now if I could just figure out how to strengthen them and get them to quit tearing easily.

Thanks! I hope the transition isn't too bad...:headache:

And congrats on the nails! I love it when my nails look nice, it isn't too often, so I can totally relate!

Well, not technically a raise, but my take home will be more because I will be working more hours. ANd guess what???!!!! I already told DH that 1/2 of the money can go to bills, but the other 1/2 is going to vacations. So next year we were not going to be able to do our big "out West" trip, and now we can!!!!   We are going to fly into Vegas (I want to see the lights at night), drive over the hoover dam and go to the Grand Canyon for 2-3 days and then drive to L.A. and guess what.... GO TO DISNEYLAND!!!!!:woohoo: We'll finish up with a trip to the sequioa national forest and a day at the beach/exploring L.A. Sound like fun? YOu betcha!

Vija,

Is it close to home? Anyway, loved hearing about all your plans for your free weekends. Nice.

Lisa

Yes, it is so much closer. Right now I drive 50 minutes to the hospital I work at, and the local hospital is only 5 minutes away!!!!! The savings in gas is going to be amazing. :thumbsup2

Hello BL Friends,

Can I come back? I know I have been away for a long time, but the months snuck up on me and this week I have been recommitting to myself to lose weight. Can you believe that we are already 1/4 of the way through the year??

I'd love to stick through the end of BL (although I will not likely be a BL) and through to Memorial Day since our school year ends the Friday before Memorial Day (as a teacher it is smart to work in a farming community).

Please let me know if I can come back, and also what my beginning and most recent weigh ins were. I'll just jump in from there, although I think I gained a pound or two...

Thank you!!
Congrats to all of you who are so much better than I am!

Of course you can come back. Brenda posts every week about welcoming anyone back with open arms. That's great Ashley. Welcome back.

And Ashley,

We are no better than you. That's to your last line!!;) ;) ;) Trust me. :rotfl: ;) I'm sure all of us have quit something at some point. It's courageous to me to come back on. I'm only learning to open up and ask for help when I need it in my life. Yeah Ashley. :woohoo:

Lisa

Brenda, daretodream will find you about giving your weight.

Good evening,

Congrats Vija. Good for you. I feel confident that you will do a fantastic job in your new position. The savings in the gas money will be a big bonus also.

Thanks to everyone for the best wishes as being this week's biggest loser. I will get my clippie and post it proudly.

It is hard to figure the scale at times - there were weeks when I thought "how could I not have lost more" or how did I gain/maintain this time. The biggest thing we all need to remember is to stay with the program and stay with the plan. The weight will eventually follow.

Have a great rest of the evening!

Wendy,

Let's just say I did this :lmao: and this :rotfl: when I read that line.

The week I was the biggest loser I knew my loss was big. Before it was calculated I scanned the entire week, with an awful feeling in my stomach, like this:

"Please, please someone out there must have lost more weight. Anyone? Someone? Pretty please. I want to be #2"

Wendy, I think we have an issue that needs to be fixed. :rotfl: :lmao:

:lmao: Honey, I have MANY issues that need to be fixed!!!:rotfl: Seriously though, while sometimes it's nice to be #1, I sort of feel like being #2 is "safer". Not so much to live up to, if that makes any sense.

Hi everyone,

I have much to report! First congrats to all the losers! Way to go!!!!

OK, here goes.... I got a new job! I will be working in the OR at the local hospital. (I have worked in the OR for a little over 16 years) It is going to be a M-F position (I do weekends right now). I am very excited to be getting off the weekend program. I know it will be a big adjustment and a learning curve, as they don't do any heart surgeries, and that is all I have done for the past 14 years! They also recover their patients, so that will be another area I will have to learn, I am a smart cookie, so I know it will be OK, I just hope I get the time needed for orientation to learn the new stuff.

I am going to miss my "me time" that I have had. It is nice to be off M-F. I have done the weekend program for almost 9 years!:scared1:

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: Congrats! And so close to home, very nice!

I'm celebrating my own personal success lately with my nails. The challenge several weeks ago included giving yourself a manicure and pedicure. OK, now THIS is very impressive! As a long time nailbiter, the only time I have EVER had nails was when I had acrylics for a few years. Yeah, i've got a little white at the end of each nail, but not much. And the are weak, brittle, and quite sad looking. Oh well, they are sort of low on the priority list right now... Anyway, CONGRATS!!!

Welcome back Ashley!!!

Welcome back Ashley - we are glad to have you join us - BUT - you MUST think positively that YOU TOO can be in the top 10 - first step to getting there :thumbsup2

Make it a good weekend everyone !

I have always wanted to be #1 i get so close but never the top. I'm just clad recently i am consistently losing and getting into the top 10. The week i just missed the top it really motivated me. Well this week has been crazy for me it is the last week of the quarter so i leave by 7-730 and last night i got home at 930. Today im tired and have to get moving i have an appointment at 9 and need to take extra time to get there becuase we had a snow storm last night. I know the calendar says spring but when is it going to get here. I want to go fishing!!! (ice is to thin but still there so no boat and i refuse to stand in snow next to the river)

I will post more later when i can.

Amanda

Way to go on the new job Vija! The transition may be tough at first, but you'll do great!

Congrats to this week's Superstars! Especially to you Lynn.

Lisa - Glad you'll be sticking around!

simpilotswife - Way to go on the pizza. I have found myself doing the same thing more lately and it feels great!

Hard as nails....every night! It does wonders!

Morning all,

I was so excited to see my name in the top 10. This has been a struggle this time.

Congrats to all and hang in there.

I have bunco tonight, so I bought a salad last night to take with me. I hope I can stick to it, cause I really dont' have any will power if it's in front of me.

I baked a cake last night for my bosses b-day and I made carrot cake since I don't like it and he does. So that will keep me out of that!!!

Have a great Friday!

Boy do I need to read that Lynn. Actually, I think I should post it somewhere.

There have been many days in the last couple of weeks (okay, pretty much everyday) that I have made it til lunch time on plan, then just break down emotionally after putting the kids down for nap time and end up eating the rest of the day.

So far today, I feel "sane". I feel like I can make it through the whole day on plan with my eating. I feel like this evening I can enjoy spending time with my own kiddos after the other kids leave (I do in-home daycare). So far, I don't feel like I "need" to go out to eat tonight or have DH bring me food from out. (Yes, he's such an enabler.;) )

Hopefully this will continue and I will be able to post a loss on Tuesday.

Even though I don't post on the thread much, I do read. And I want to say "thank you" to everyone who does post and supports each other. It's uplifting to read. :goodvibes
