Biggest Loser 2009 - Couples 2

Can't believe we have another week to go before the finale.....

Then we get to vote. :confused3

I think Helen and Ron will still be at the bottom and we will be voting for one of them. This is a new twist this year that they go home for a month and come back.

I think you are right about Helen and Ron....I loved that Tara didn't need that extra pound....you go girl!! Every one of them had great weight losses for how far they are in it....there should be some natural plateauing.

oh good, I thought I had missed something and this wasn't a new twist. :rotfl:

Ron also made a promise to Cathy that he would take Kristin to the finals and he reminded Kristen of that last week. It wasn't so much that he told Mike to vote for Kristin, it was how sneaky he was about it. He told her he would see what he could do to get Mike to vote for Helen. If he had said, "I promised your mom I would not write down your name but Mike is his own person and I can't make any promises about what he will do." then that would have been one thing. But he knew he was lying to her, he lied to Allison about knowing that Mike was going to vote for Kristin and he lied to Bob. I think Mike and Ron did the right thing voting for Kristin. But own up to what you did. Don't lie about it.
And Mike was getting just a little too cocky last week with his "I know I am going to win." and then this week with "My dad is playing chess while everyone else is playing checkers."

He was a stinker when he said that.

He and the girls looked amazing in their goal outfits!!

I honestly do not think Ron is going to do well at home. He has some serious family dynamic issues with his other son.

Now it could go the other way and he could really step it up which I do hope. Even though I do not care for Ron I don't want to see anyone fail with their health journey.

To be honest as much as I loathe Ron, I really am afraid for his health once he gets home.

I agree. I don't want him to win but it doesn't mean that I want him to fail. His boys are really depending on him. Did he say last night that he even had his jaw wired shut in the past and didn't lose weight? :scared1:

Ugh. I'm out. I was hoping Filipe or Tara to win. I still hope Tara wins, but I can't stomach watching the other who are left to see it.

:confused3 Why?? Last season everyone was mean, nasty and manipulative. This season everyone has been for the most part very nice. Sending people home is part of the show/game. You can't blame Mikey nor Ron for people falling below the yellow line. All along Ron has flat out said he'd do whatever he could to keep Mikey in the game until the end. How about you put the blame where it belongs....on Kristin for not only falling below the yellow line 2 weeks in a row but for actually gaining weight.

Ron didn't vote for Kristin. He kept his promise to her mom. Mikey make no promises and had the right to vote for the person that was the bigger threat to him. Kristin was obviously the bigger threat as she had quite a bit more weight to still lose. You can't blame Mikey for voiting for her....blame Kristin for GAINING weight therefore, falling below the yellow line for the second week in a row!! Now Ron did suggest to Mikey that Kristin was his biggest threat and he did say he was ok with Mikey voting for Kristin but again Ron stated facts and kept his promises; the promise to do what he could to keep his son in the game and the promise to Kristin's mom to never vote for her.

What made me upset about Ron and the Kristen thing was that Ron told Kristen he would talk to Mike and "see what he could do". Then he proceeded to tell Mike to vote off Kristen. Had he just said "I won't you vote off, but my son will make his own decision and I hope you understand" that would have been fine by me. And perfectly understandable. I don't like people who lie. He was less than honest with Kristin (I mean he did certainly "see what he could do") but he outright lied to Bob. Bob asked if he had talked to Mike to vote of Kristin, Ron lied to Bob's face. Ron has taken it upon himself to be the Wise Old Man of the ranch. He always talks about who needs to be there most etc. Just grates on my nerves. But its perfectly understandable for him to want his son to win. Just don't dance around the issue is my only beef with him. That and the fact he medicated himself and his kids with food and allowed two teen boys to become morbidly obese before they even had a chance to shave or drive a car.

"Mikey" was arrogant and really and truly the thing that has kept him there week after week, below the yellow line or not is his dad's "chess playing". I really like Mike, I just didn't like the arrogance he has shown the past few weeks. He got a huge amount of good luck by having his dad there. So for him to imply that its his game to win quite easily under estimates everyone else. Including his dad, who might also win this thing. You never know.

So I get how it works, and I agree this group is nicer. But there are two things in life I hate: dishonest and arrogance. Ron has shown the first one, MIke the second. But since its all a game, I guess who can blame them. But I hope he squirmed when he watched the show at home and heard his little whispered conference with Mike and knew that America and Bob would know the full truth. And he probably remembered that he lied to Bob's face the week after his little whisper thing with Mike. Its one thing to play but its another to be a bit of a dirtbag. And I am certainly not alone in feeling the way I do.

But at this point, I am hoping for either Tara or Mike. In that order.

Oh I also have to add, I had to laugh at Helen's thing about she doesn't trust Ron or Filippe. Pretty funny coming from a woman who sent her own daughter home. And the whole time she and Tara are sitting there last night discussing this, I kept wanting Tara to remind her you can't trust anybody on that ranch. Including the woman who gleefully ate a cookie that cost Tara 10K!

Did anyone else happen to notice last night that during the weigh in Bob was clean shaven. After some of the weigh ins though, when they show the trainers comments, Bob was "hairy". So obviously the interviews with the trainers are done after the "real" weigh in and not the fake one that we see. I just found that amusing for some reason.

Rooting for Tara to knock them all out of the competition!!

I'm not sure we get to vote? Next week the TV description says-

"The players go home for 30 days to learn to keep up their healthy lifestyles outside the ranch. upon their return to campus, the players compete in the season's final challenge: running a full marathon. After the weigh-in, the final two are revealed."

If we do get to vote, and is it final three, DH made a good point while we were watching. I said I didn't think the viewers would keep Ron in the final. He said he WOULD keep Ron in the final three, and vote out whoever was the bigger threat to who you want to win. That does make a lot of sense. Plus, by keeping Ron in the final three, there is NO way for him to compete for the $100,000 prize either (not that he has a shot, but still).

Very impressed by the big numbers this week, by all the contestants. :thumbsup2

I'll vote for Ron if he's up against Mike or Helen. I don't like Helen for thinking of herself over her daughter. I don't like Ron for his rudeness and all the gameplay nonsense. I liked Mike until his big speach and realized he was too young and neive to get the money. I really Tara. She's over the top at times but she is SO good and she is really consistant and doing well.

I think the Mike and Ron were 3rd and 4th...and we voted...which makes sense since we've voted for the past 2 or 3 seasons now and we'll know "the final 2" next week (it only make sense that the 3rd would be revealed at the finale)...than it would upset Ron more if his son wasn't even in the running for the big money.

I don't mind the game play but I hate when people are smug and so in your face about it.

All I can say is Karma's a B and Bob's "original" players have all pretty much gotten what they deserve for their whole behavior about all that coach stuff in the beginning...

Bob's face went from hairy to clean shaven all episode long...I noticed when he was talking to Ron about the whole kristen vote he was clean shaven, but his "alone" interview that was shown at the same time he had a beard. Obviously these were added on later and someone forgot to hand Bob his razor!

I hope Tara wins. She deserves it; she's one determined lady. My next vote would be for Mike, and then I guess Helen. I really can't stand Ron. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if from a year from now, Ron's gained most of his weight back. I really hope it doesn't happen, because he needs to keep it off for his health, but I've just never felt like he actually really wanted it. I think he's wants it for his son, but I really don't think he cares about it as far as he's concerned, and I don't think he's willing to do the work to keep taking weight off and keeping it off. I hope I'm wrong, but I've felt like that the whole season with him.:confused3

Next week is the Finale, right? so how can we vote? They would have a zillion people voting in a hour and they wouldn't be able to handle it and get ther results that fast. so I don't think we are voting.
Also did anyone catch when Helen was voting, that she said for the first time she was going to be selfish and do something for Helen and not for everyone else, like she normally does. Who is she trying to fool. I think she's been selfish from day 1. LOL!

yeah cuz Helen wasn't selfish when she ate the cookie for Tara or sent her daughter packing.

I heard that the finale is going to be 3 hours long!!

Hope it is because they are going to bring back some old contestants and show us where they are now. Because if it is more of these contestants on there journey it will make for a long night since I am sure they will do that next week with final four.

Also heard the final four will be doing a full marathon as their last challenge.

According to the descriptions on the comast TV listings, the final epsiode is 5/12/09 from 8-11 EST. and the challange on 5/5 is a marathon. On the description for the finale, there is something about America being introduced and voting for 2 players for next season.

There are 2 more episodes 5/5, and 5/12.

I sowre they kept saying that next week was the Finale. I don;t know how I got so confused. :confused3

I too thought it would be next week but they added another week there.

I don't think anyone will be eleminated next week though. The four just come back after being home a month. But you never know :confused3

I'm finally watching the first half of the makeover episode and my heart is positively breaking for Max. Mike has been a bit arrogant the past few weeks sure, but he has done some amazing things against the odds and he is still a teenager. Seeing him with Max made me respect him all over again. They need to do a follow up with this family. I'm really praying that Max gets a handle on this.

I keep on thinking that Max's best shot is having his dad and brother in the finals. It is the ONLY thing that makes me feel even the tiniest bit good that Ron made it to the final 4. Max will have 3 out of 4 of his family members "eating right" and exercising around him. No more McDonald's binges or midnight munchies of leftover pizza. Mike and Ron and Mrs. Ron know what needs to be done and Max will be on "the program" or else. If Mike and Ron had any sympathy for Max they would take him to the gym with them for their workouts and start him off with a bit of walking cardio. No, he won't have Bob to encourage him but if they are smart they will hire another personal trainer for him. I really hope to see him in the audience and have them tell us that he had lost weight.

For the past several years, when it gets to the final four, they weigh in at the very end. Two are above the yellow line and make it to the finals. Then two are below the yellow line and America votes on who they want to be in the finals. They reveal America's choice at the beginning of the finale. One competes for $100,000 and the other competes for the $250,000 grand prize.
