Biggest Loser 2009 - Couples 2

Ron also made a promise to Cathy that he would take Kristin to the finals and he reminded Kristen of that last week. It wasn't so much that he told Mike to vote for Kristin, it was how sneaky he was about it. He told her he would see what he could do to get Mike to vote for Helen. If he had said, "I promised your mom I would not write down your name but Mike is his own person and I can't make any promises about what he will do." then that would have been one thing. But he knew he was lying to her, he lied to Allison about knowing that Mike was going to vote for Kristin and he lied to Bob. I think Mike and Ron did the right thing voting for Kristin. But own up to what you did. Don't lie about it.
And Mike was getting just a little too cocky last week with his "I know I am going to win." and then this week with "My dad is playing chess while everyone else is playing checkers."

Can't believe we have another week to go before the finale.....

Then we get to vote. :confused3

I think Helen and Ron will still be at the bottom and we will be voting for one of them. This is a new twist this year that they go home for a month and come back.

I'm not sure we get to vote? Next week the TV description says-

"The players go home for 30 days to learn to keep up their healthy lifestyles outside the ranch. upon their return to campus, the players compete in the season's final challenge: running a full marathon. After the weigh-in, the final two are revealed."

If we do get to vote, and is it final three, DH made a good point while we were watching. I said I didn't think the viewers would keep Ron in the final. He said he WOULD keep Ron in the final three, and vote out whoever was the bigger threat to who you want to win. That does make a lot of sense. Plus, by keeping Ron in the final three, there is NO way for him to compete for the $100,000 prize either (not that he has a shot, but still).

Very impressed by the big numbers this week, by all the contestants. :thumbsup2

could someone explain to me how this works...why would we have a vote at all? doesn't it come down to who loses the most is the winner? and whomever loses the most (but was eliminated) wins the 100k?

Last season ( and only last season) The viewers voted for the final contestant in the final three, instead of the contestants voting between the 2 that fell below the line. No one is sure if they will do that again this season.

It's a game, folks. Pure and simple.

If Tara had ever fallen below that yellow line, she would have been voted off in a New York minute.

Recently, the same applied to Mike. If he had fallen below the yellow line again, he would be toast.

Bob's Blue Team had no qualms voting off Dane, Mandi, Aubrey. They shouldn't be all holier than thou and express self-righteous indignation when the same thing happened to them (Sione, Kristin, Filipe).

Do I like Ron? No. But he and Mike were only doing what everyone else was doing.

The ones with the most percentage will still be one and two we get to vote for one of the two with the lowest percentages. That person will take the third spot, doesn't matter about the percentage lost. One of them will compete for the $250,000 the other one will compete for the $100,00 home prize but they will not know which prize they are going for until the finale when they tell them out the public voted.

The finale is next Tuesday...so these people have been home for a while. I think Kristen has been home since Feb.

Thanks - I think I read that the 4 remaining went home since Feb 22 or somewhere around there. Can't wait to see what they ALL look like now. I am hoping that Dan (I think that was the young guy on the orange team) has lost more and that he keeps it off. He seemed like a nice guy (especially compared to his team mate) I wish them all the best. But I must say I can't stand Ron - can't believe he lied right to Bob's face - you think Bob didn't find out - it was all recorded. And Ron was the one calling everyone liar's. What a donkey's butt.

I agree with everything that you wrote! Kristen was the correct choice but Ron and Mike should have "owned up" to their lies and subterfuge. And yes, CajunDixie, Ron lied to Kristen and then to Alison and Bob. His whole "I won't write your name down" while telling his son to vote for her was total BS. As was his "innocent" act.

It makes me wonder how much different the game would be if they had voted Ron off one of the FOUR times he was personally below the line, or the other THREE times Bob's team was below the line.

:confused3 Why?? Last season everyone was mean, nasty and manipulative. This season everyone has been for the most part very nice. Sending people home is part of the show/game. You can't blame Mikey nor Ron for people falling below the yellow line. All along Ron has flat out said he'd do whatever he could to keep Mikey in the game until the end. How about you put the blame where it belongs....on Kristin for not only falling below the yellow line 2 weeks in a row but for actually gaining weight.

Ron didn't vote for Kristin. He kept his promise to her mom. Mikey make no promises and had the right to vote for the person that was the bigger threat to him. Kristin was obviously the bigger threat as she had quite a bit more weight to still lose. You can't blame Mikey for voiting for her....blame Kristin for GAINING weight therefore, falling below the yellow line for the second week in a row!! Now Ron did suggest to Mikey that Kristin was his biggest threat and he did say he was ok with Mikey voting for Kristin but again Ron stated facts and kept his promises; the promise to do what he could to keep his son in the game and the promise to Kristin's mom to never vote for her.

All I am saying is everyone thing he is just this little prince of a guy, & slamming on Ron when the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Just like everyone just loved Carla, but did we ever get to know her?

I agree with this.

I would like to see Mike & Ron in the bottom two...Ron begs America to keep his son in the finals....America votes for Ron instead, which puts his son out of the chance to win.

See that is what happened last year with Heba and her husband. Heba would have won top prize and her husband would have taken the home prize. People didn't like her so they vote for her husband to be in the final three. Michelle won.

It did say America is voting so I am assuming it is the same as last year. I just thought it would be out of the too lowest left this week. Do they really think the order is going to change since they are going home. I don't think Tara is going to fall to the bottom. Just hope Helen doesn't become number 2.

Haven't read all the responses after this, but they also did a vote season before last. I can't remember who it was between, but I remember the guy was a football coach from Tennessee (maybe?) and was giving America a hug on his "vote for me" video.

I think you are giving way too much credit and power to Ron.

I don't believe for a minute that the whispered conversation that Ron had with Mike regarding Kristen wasn't a set up by BL. Mike isn't an idiot. He didn't need his dad to point out that Kristen was the biggest threat.

Ron could have simply scribbled a note to his son instead of broadcasting it to the TV - but that wouldn't make good TV.

If Ron was voted off weeks ago, does anyone really think it would have changed the way Mike voted for anyone? For that matter, do you think anyone would have voted differently if Ron was gone because Ron had so much "power" over them?

They kept Ron on the show for 2 reasons. #1 - He isn't a threat to win. #2 - The producers felt he made for good ratings.

Good point. I did like it when Filipe and Ron both had the big losses and Filipe said it's because they're with Bob.

Then Jill's team weighed in with better numbers. :rotfl:

I heard that the finale is going to be 3 hours long!!

Hope it is because they are going to bring back some old contestants and show us where they are now. Because if it is more of these contestants on there journey it will make for a long night since I am sure they will do that next week with final four.

Also heard the final four will be doing a full marathon as their last challenge.

I totally agree. As much as I love Kristin you have to ask how did she gain weight...could it have been 'that time of the month'

I dont fault Ron for his actions. He has come right out and said, I will do what I have to, to keep his kid in there. And I am so proud of Mike for what he has done. I am also willing to cut him slack with his attitude because he, for the first time in his life feels good about himself and his accomplishments. I fear he will read some of the evil things said about him and his dad and not dealing with all that very well.

At this point, I really want to see how the Orange team has done at home.

I think everyone is underestimating Ron's weight loss ability. He can easily come back after 30 days and have the highest % of weight loss, especially against Tara and Helen, who are small already.

Where are you hearing this? I'd love to have a link to read it too.

Oh yea was that sweet.....it gave me goosebumps that Jill whipped their cans.

I honestly do not think Ron is going to do well at home. He has some serious family dynamic issues with his other son.

Now it could go the other way and he could really step it up which I do hope. Even though I do not care for Ron I don't want to see anyone fail with their health journey.

To be honest as much as I loathe Ron, I really am afraid for his health once he gets home.
