Biggest Loser 2009 - Couples 2

Since they are changing up the teams does that mean they are playing singles now? And it will go back to two under the yellow line.

I liked how they actually had to decide do we play the game and sent the threat home or keep the person that needs to be there more. By the votes last night they are playing the game now. Maybe Bob scared them into playing the game.....:rotfl:

wowsmom-- thanks for checking if Dane was there. I don't record it. Most of that challenge I remember is Tar puking :scared:

Just a thought... I dont think Laura will want to continue her friendship with Tara after seeing the show! I dont think I would. We know she wants to win, we know, we know!

I like Tara and I can understand why she was worried about Laura pulling her own weight. Tara is the leader right now with a 24.5% weight loss. Laura is the 3rd lowest with 15.5%. If Green team went below the yellow line Tara would be booted so fast! That being said, I think she was shooting herself in the foot kvetching over Laura constantly ... she should be supporting Laura as a team member.

I can't remember ... does this mean that it's Blue Team combined weight v/s Black Team combined weight or will weights be individual with 2 people below the line?

Do you think so?
I kind of got the feeling that Shanon just didn't want to be there, but she wasn't going to admit it.

Yup!!

Brown dad said something to the effect of as a parent we'd want to do what's best for our kids. If we ever went on Biggest Loser and it was down to myself or my daughter, I so would say send me home...espescially since I've been here for more time.

Shanon seemed to have been pressured by mom to say it was okay for her to be sent home. She even said she wanted to go back down to the group and say she changed her mind.

I realllllly liked last nights episode!!!! :happytv: The KEY challenge was a GREAT challenge!!! I will say I wanted to punch Aubrey in the face MYSELF when Mandi said YEAH....when she really did not get the key to work. Hey there is nothing wrong with a little levity. And then Aubrey YELLS at her and tells her to "get going or I will punch you in the face"!!!

Not sure what I really thought about them all playing in the MUD but if they needed to relieve some STRESS then go for it.

Jillian saying she hates to work out outside....:confused3 I would perfer to go for a walk/jog/run outside then inside ANYDAY. I love riding bikes and swimming....that kinda surprised me.

I really felt badly for Tara when she was crying so hard after losing the challenge to Dane. I absolutely HATE rowing machines....I would have been the first one out if I was doing that. You really need allot of upper body arm strength.

***Why does it appear to me that Bob and Jillian get thinner and thinner as the seasons go on............?

I noticed that too. Bob in particular in one shot looked like almost anorexic.

Thought Bob's little hissy fit was just par for his course lately. They need to boot him off the ranch and hire that Jessi guy from Dietribe.

I was touched when Pink Mom wanted to help Ron down the hill. Even though at times she bugs me, it reminded me again of how much nicer this group is than the last one.

Thank God Ron got into the pool. Surely this wasn't the first time Bob thought of that?

Right now if I had to bet, I'd say that the blue team and Tara are all the most likely to be BL. The first week Tara has a measley loss, she is so out of there. I can see why Tara gets upset with Laura but she is sometimes over the top with that.

As soon as pink team started redecorating the gym and setting the table, I knew one of them was going home. Combo of Karma and time wasted!

Seriously, when they were in there rearranging furniture I just sat there and laughed! I mean did they think for a minute the other people would be like, "oh we can't work out in the gym, lets all go to Dairy Queen"? They should have known that everybody would freak out, and work like horses outside under Jillian and Bob's direction. They even made a dumb sign and the daughter needed help on how to spell "members". While mom stands there and arranges her fruit platter. :rotfl:

Can someone explain something to me since this is my first season watching the show? Am I wrong to assume they carefully consider the candidates each time? I would guess they have to have all their medical records, get a physical, etc before the decision is made, right? So why would Ron get the go ahead for this show? I would think that someone that has had bypass surgery and a recurring knee problem would be the last person they would pick. His son is at a huge disadvantage. I feel sorry for Ron and he seems like a great dad but he doesn't stand a snowballs chance of winning. If it wasn't for the antics of Joelle, the brown team would have been gone weeks ago. He just seems like such an odd choice since his health is such a problem. I feel bad for Mike.

And she STILL misspelled "Members Only" ... the sign said "Member's Only" :lmao:.

I'm not sure exactly what criteria they use in choosing contestants, but we all know that the REAL purpose of this show is to get people to watch (in order to sell advertising, of course). In addition to people applying to be on the show, they also go out and recruit people. Last season, Bob recruited a couple he saw at a bar (or so we are told...). I think the brown team was chosen for their likeability, and also because the son is the youngest contestant ever. Apparently, there's a teenage girl demographic out there that they haven't been winning... LOL!

Dad might not have much of a chance of winning, but the son certainly does!

The last two seasons have had men in REALLY bad shape, and they both went on to do GREAT - mainly at home after being voted off fairly early (even though they didn't win).

His bypass was gastric bypass, not with his heart. Other than that alot of the people have had bad knees and ankles, it comes with the weight.

I didn't know that! I thought he had heart bypass. Thanks for clearing that up. I just couldn't figure out why they would put a man with heart problems in that position. Thanks!

IMHO He should be the FIRST person they pick! He's tried other options that haven't worked for him. Eventually you run out of options and die. :scared: It's not all about them winning money, it's about changing their lives. OF course, great TV ratings are high on their priority list also but they are quite creative about editing.

Does anyone know if the contestants get paid while they are on campus? My DH is seriously thinking about going to the casting call in our area. Our concern is how we would handle finances if he is not working for 3+ months.

Also, since he is not as big as most of the men are (he is at 290) do you think he might be "too small" for BL standards? He has tried diets and exercise, but does not seem to have a whole lot of will power to do it on his own. Our DS9 has asked him to apply.

They have regular medical exams during the whole time they are there.
I wish they'd do more to show what kinds of exercise Ron CAN do with those knees, rather than just showing him limping all over the place.

Even last night, Bob told Ron to get in the pool, but I don't think they ever actually showed it.

You're right, they didn't. Which makes me wonder if there are other trainers in the house  He told him to get in the pool and stay there, but not what to do...

It wasn't as much of a blow out as it was a hissy fit. He was going on and on about don't ask me for advice if you aren't going to take it etc. I lost a little respect for him too after that :sad2:

I was wondering if any of the contestants had even asked Bob for advice on who to vote for? He was so mad at them for not voting out Dane and was saying "well don't ask me for advice any more" but I don't think any of them did ask him!

Oh I can't believe I missed that! I was laughing so hard at how idiotic they were both being I guess I couldn't see straight!

I'll also add that girl looked like she wanted to turn back the clock when they voted her off. I think she all of the sudden started to realize maybe she needed to be there as much as mama did.

I do think pink mom is a bit selfish (and yet she was nice to Ron). I remember the challenge last week when her daughter fell over and knocked the mom over, I thought mom was going to pound her.

I almost forgot to post this, what's up with 2 episodes next week?? Are we getting rid of 2 players too??????????
