Biggest Loser 2009 - Couples 2

When does everyone think they will break up the teams, and fly solo?

I still don't have a favorite team--Everyone is just EH:confused3 I was put off by the fact that Mandi was begging the others- Come on EVERY one would like to see family. Bringing the boys to the prize was just mean-Poor little guys-having to only see mom for a bit, and then go thru leaving her again.

I wonder how long Mike can carry his dad. A lot of pressure on a kid.

I completely agree!

And I was surprised that they didn't go to individuals this week, since they've broken up the black team. Maybe they'll announce it first thing next week...

You know they mentioned will the 18yo kid be able to carry his dad this week on the preview. So it appears they are not going to break them up yet.:confused3

Why did they do that to the black team?

I'm new to this show, started watching midway thru last season, and I kept thinking the same thing about the pool...why are they not utilizing it? these people are heavy, and especially the brown team dad could use that, I would think. it got to be funny after a while, they kept showing the pool, but noone doing anything with it!

am curious, is there anyplace that lists the typical w/o regimen and diet while they are at the ranch?

Did they start knocking some of this way last year this way and then they went solo. To many of them left to have them weigh in alone.

I couldn't believe the guys let Melanie(?) win the reward either. It still sounds like the husband doesn't like her being there.

I read somewhere they never go into the pool they just do the opening of the show there when the trainers come in the next day after weigh in.

:thumbsup2 Funny how I've heard Bob say you're here to lose weight, get healthy, become a new person, not to play a game. Maybe we need to go back and find Bob %&&^$$%*(## someone out because they "played" the game. Hmmmm I don't think he liked Vicky's attitude when she played the game. So why is he now "playing"?

.

Bob is so full of crap with his "helping people to lose weight".
Did he ever whisper to the others as he says goodbye who they should vote out?
I thought that was terrible!!! I'm glad most of them did the right thing.
The crap that Dane could do it on home better then Blaine was a poor excuse!

I don't have any favorites eiother.Mandi is getting on my nerves with her begging the others to see her family.

According to articles I've read, they DO use the pool. The camera crews are there 3 days a week and they use the pool on off days. Can't quite figure out why, but apparently it's a common question.

They also leave the campus a lot more often than they imply -- Joelle got to go home to vote, for example.

And every single immunity winner has water loaded. This week's gal just got caught!

I lost all respect I had for Bob last night...from the thumbs up at the beginning when he found out Joelle and Carla were gone, to the way he berated poor Mike of the brown team, the last straw was when he told each and every one of them to vote "Dane and only Dane" I was proud of them for not following that crap (excuse my language)

The entire yellow team is driving me batty and Jillian was so right, they were probably the only ones who couldn't truly handle the "prize". Though I agree with you all, it wasn't much of a prize. The one yellow team member has lost less than 20 lbs hasn't she?

I was so proud of the purple team...I chose not to believe that she drank water, she just wanted to be under 300 lbs so badly.

Do you have links to any of the articles? I'd love to read them!

somewhere on the website is a Carla/Joelle interview where she talks about going home to vote that week. Apparently she didn't get her early ballot taken care of the way she was supposed to, and then all the sudden that week she HAD to go home to do her civic duty. That's why everybody was so mad at her, not just the random wandering around the gym just staring at the equipment -- that she actually left the Ranch that week.

I find Aubrey a little annoying. She was so judgmental of Joelle, but Aubrey sure isn't dropping the pounds either. 2lbs in 30 days, 1lb last week.

It was kind of funny last night when Jillian was ranting about her team. They're weepy, they're tired, they're emotional -- it's EXHAUSTING! I know that's how I felt just watching them for 20minutes on tv, I can't imagine what it was like having to be with them all day long in a gym.

Kristen is full of it. her 2 pound weight gain is nonsense. She won immunity and "water loaded" before the weigh in to save herself NEXT week. Typical immunity holder tactic and a low blow as far as I am concerned. She couldn't even pull off being sad/mortified on the scale, which made her "If it wasn't for immunity I would be under the yellow line!" speech a tirade of nonsense and crocodile tears.

I wondered that same thing about her weight gain. She didn't seem all that devastated about it even after the speech about finally weighing less than 300 lbs for the first time in 8 years or whatever she said.

I still don't really have a true favorite this season. I like Tara's spunk but it gets annoying. Too bad she is single-handedly carrying the weight for the green team. Laura is hardly trying.

I also agree that it was just cruel to bring the kids for the 24 hour visit. It would have been hard enough for just the husband but to add the kids emotions into it was so heartwrenching.

I'm guess that the contestants don't want to be seen in their bathing suits. :confused3 That would be my guess.

AS far as not showing Jillian's team...I feel they do interview the yellow team and the green team quite often.

I am not sure I understand what the problem is with water loading?

1. This is a game.

2. There are two goals - lose weight and win the big prize.

If you managed to win immunity, why wouldn't you save up that weight loss? If you don't water load and the following week you hit a wall, you could be gone. This buys them an extra week. It seems like smart game play to me. It isn't hurting anyone and they are still working out hard to achieve both goals of weight loss and the grand prize.

Maybe the animosity is because they lie about it and try and act devastated? On the other hand, I wouldn't like the contestant that went up there and said, "  I water loaded because I got immunity." If they admitted it, people would hate them for it. I think they are in a no-win situation. Unless I am missing something.

The yellow team is very annoying. Just like in the beginning when Joelle won that challage & even the blue team guys was mad at her, well first Carla won it not her & the blue would have been 2nd so she wouldn't have been able go home anyway. And now this one & her partner is having trouble with the whole being away from your family thing too. Duh you should have thought about this before you signed up. There could have been another team of 2 on the BL instead of those two. Maybe they need to do some Mental test on these people.

Also I think Jillian hit the nail on the head about the spouses who are scared of their partner losing weight & looking bettter, Then I saw Mandi & her DH together & BINGO that is totally it.

I think there are a lot of teams where only one person is really "there". They just seem to be there and not to lose weight.

No problem...just game strategy (begun I believe by that Matt guy in Season 2 or 3, he eventually won). But it's smacks of bad form and makes me think less of trhose who do it, particularly when they try to act surprised or try to use the "i would've been below the line" argument. Puh-leaze!

No, you still get your immunity.
Personally, I think that if a person with immunity gains weight, the immunity should pass on to the person that came in second place in the challenge. And in the instance where it's a team weigh in, if anyone on the team gains, the immunity should pass to the next team. That would give them reason to rethink the water loading thing.

Now Jillian doesn't really go for all the "game play". That is why I like here. She is direct and not full of it.
I loved it when Jillian told Mandi she was the last person that should have won that "prize". Can't get anymore direct than that.
