Biggest Loser 2009 - Couples 2

I have a question about Laura's injury. Do these types of stress fractures "just happen?" How much responsibility does Jillian have as her trainer? I think the trainers are way over the top in terms of the way they push the contestants. It makes for good TV, but I have concerns about whether it is good for the people involved. It seems like a lot of people are going to the hospital this season.

So...people who have had experience with stress fractures.....Should a good trainer be able to prevent this type of injury from happening?

Didn't the doctor say it was a sports injury. Jillian did look pretty upset about it. I think it all depends on the person. I was thinking Jillian should have done the milk commercial with Laura instead of Helen.

Anyone training at "athlete" levels ie: 6-8 hours a day, is at risk for injury, especially stress fractures. Heck, obese people are at risk for stress fractures anyway. I don't think the trainers are responsible for this type of injury...it is more the nature of the beast. You put an obese person on a campus for 15 weeks and ask them to workout 6-8 hours a day, injuries will happen. These contestants are there voluntarily and are under constant medical supervision.

I was glad to see that they took care of her and got her through it. That was nice.:goodvibes

Why is it that Ron is always the first to open his mouth at the elimination meetings? I am so ready for him to go. I'm also getting annoyed with his "Mikey" this & "My son" that. Does anyone else feel like they're watching "The Mike Show" rather than "Biggest Loser"?
Ron is definately this season's Icky Vicky!

Loved Laura's hair, and I liked Tara's green dress. Not liking Kristen's hair.

I like Laura's hair. HATED Tara's dress. And I miss the stripes in Kristens hair. I liked it much better that way.
But I had a deep violet red going trhough my bonde hair!

LOVED the milk commercial, but my DH is a Dairy framer! :lmao:

If he will do anything for his son he should have voted off Kristen. Total gameplay. He thinks he has Kristen in his backpocket.

That is why he voted off Laura.
Yup, I agree. Kristen appears to be the most naive of the players and Ron thinks that she will go along with what he wants until he executes her at the end. It was more important for him to break up the green voting block that was protecting Mike's biggest threat: Tara.

Now, I agree with glasslipper that Tara and Helen are selfish. ALL of them are selfish. You don't participate in a game show like Biggest Loser if you are NOT selfish. They all want to stay at the ranch in their little diet/workout cocoon as long as they can. Was one of the reasons why Tara wanted Laura to stay because she wanted her protection vote? You bet. But I also think that this experience has brought them closer. I think that when Laura reached out to Tara when she was down and wanted to quit that a light went off in Tara's head and she realized what a good friend she had in Laura and you could see her reach back.

Of course it's game play, apparently he thought that was his best move. Just to clarify, when someone says they would do anything, I'm thinking that also includes lying, so yea, I think Ron has lied to people, but he has also been honest about it. Does that make sense:rotfl:

One thing that hasn't been mentioned yet.
Why did they make this huge production of carrrying Laura up to weigh in? How was she getting around everywhere else? I thought she could walk, but just wasn't to put extra pressure on her hip?

I know what you are trying to say. Like robinb said he was breaking up the green team block which makes sense.

And yes they are all selfish. You have to be at this point to win.

True, they are all selfish to a degree, some are just way more self-absorbed than others. Tara has always been all about Tara, remember how she constantly put down Laura and blamed her for holding herself back? Remember Helen convincing her own daughter to go home just so she could be there longer? This is why I can't stomach either one of those women, they are more than selfish, kwim?

I think she could not walk up the steps.

Maybe the steps were an issue?

I like Tara but I can't stand Helen - I think she is extremely selfish especially sending her daughter home instead of offering herself to go home so her daughter could stay and get healthy. I was so happy last night when Tara beat Felipe - there is something about Felipe and Sione that I didn't care for.

If you will go back and rewatch the end, Laura and Kristen were already in the "vote" room when the others came in, you did not any of the contestants walking into or out of the gym for weigh in, and you did not see Laura leave the table after her attempt to talk them into keeping her. The other contestants left the kitchen and went into the livingroom. I am assuming she is using crutches because we are not seeing her move around. And, when she returned home, we did not see the usual family "party". She really may not have the support at home that the others seem to.

I know what my "something" is. Going off on Jill. She gets the last laugh because Bob is stinking up the place.

Mystery Machine - you called it right about what that something is that I don't like about them guys. I forgot to add in my post that I don't care for Bob either - he is a cry baby just like Sione and Felipe. I don't want Jillian to leave - hopefully she will stick with the show - if any trainer had to be replaced I would hope it would be Bob. And I will just say - GO Jillian's team!!

I was thinking that the comment by Filipe about being tired of Jillian always winning and now it's Bob's turn as some kind of anvil from the producers.

I hope to high heavens that The Biggest Loser has the sense to bring Max in next season. it was just heartbreaking to see him realize how much his brother and father have lost and where they are in life compared to him.

And knowing that the final weigh-in is NOT done up on that big altar scale .... I found it unnecessary for them to have to carry Laura up the stairs. Admit they'd weighed her on another scale so she wouldn't have to make that trip up there .....

At the start of the make-overs, I told DD I hoped they took those skunk stripes out of Kristen's hair.

Please get Ron out of there .... now ..... :lmao:
