Biggest Loser 2009 - Couples 2

As far as Joelle is concerned, EDITING, EDITING, EDITING!!! She is always shown as sulkey. When Carla is berating her, she shuts down. I would too if someone said (yelled) something to me over and over and over..... I noticed at the weigh-in when one of the contestants did well (I think it was Dan) that she was hooting and hollering encouragement as much as anyone there. I am pretty sure NBC is not giving us the entire Joelle picture.

You are so right, I said this last season....they "NBC" wants us to see what they want us to see and think.

Oh my gosh. I love that Joelle was below the line. I got a huge kick out of Damien smiling as soon as he saw that Joelle was with him. I also like how Jillian's team asked Bob's team what they wanted to do. I love how there is so much mutual respect this time around. It's very refreshing. I hope Joelle is gone!
I was happy too... little did we know....

Joelle is this seasons Vicki. They want us to think she is going to go. It is all in the editing. There had to be conversation about the elimination that we didn't see/hear.

I'm not really feeling it this season. Can't get behind any of the teams. usually by week 3, I have my favorites.

I am with ya, this season is just not doing it for me. I was crushed when they sent half the teamates home, the joelle editing is depressing I want her gone. bleh

Anybody know why DAN (orange) did not participate in the temptation thsi week? HE clearly was not there and they did not show him or his at home buddy discussing what they did or did not eat.

I too noticed no Orange team.

Editing does make a huge difference. Big Brother Live 24/7 (well more like 20/6 but who is counting)

You can watch a 2 hour long converstation that by Thursday air date turns into a 2 minute thing with the total opposite vibe to it.

Yellow team chick is a cry baby. Ok Don't care for Joelle but during the tempation she did not eat anything, so how was this her fault that she went home with Bob? & the yellow was crying & everyone is like she deserves to go home she needs to see her kids, waa, waa. then she should have eaten the food, she controls her own destiny & that is part of what they learn at BL.

ITA!! :thumbsup2 And as much as I dislike Joelle, it was Carla who ate all the food to bring her home!!

Why on earth did they do that? Is this one of those things where the producers are actually making some decisions in order to keep ratings up or what? And what's up with the preview for next week? It looks like it is telling us who the bottom 2 teams are already.

I am so glad that this is my first season to watch this show. It's too stressful for me. ;) :)

I think it was probably just gameplay to keep Joelle. I think the other team saw it as a chance to eliminate a stronger player early in the game. Joelle normally puts up low numbers so they probably figure that she will be below the yellow line next week.

where's this board? LInk?

NBC Biggest Loser message board here:

Just found this on Ali Sweeney's blog:

p.s. A couple people posted asking about where Dan (orange team) was during the temptation at the beginning of the episode. Dr. H does regular check ups on all the contestants, and he had a few questions he needed to follow up with Dan. So Dan chose to excuse himself from the temptation so he could get some tests done. It all turned out fine, and he came back after a few hours, but with so much else to cover with the busy episode, there just wasn't room to squeeze in the whole explanation of Dan's absence.

Oh, please! What baloney. (But thanks for the link!)

ETA: Oh, and if Bob was only in Detroit for 24 hours, why did he keep saying that he was away from the ranch "all week?"

that's what I kept thinking. 24 hours equals "all week".

Dan needed tests EXACTLY at the same time as the challenge.

The show could have had an extra half hour to explain Dan's absence if they just wouldn't repeat about two minutes of what already happened following every commercial break.

That's exactly why I can only watch the show on DVR. I get to fast forward all the repeated junk.

Agree with what everyone is saying here.

The "Orange Team" excuses are horsepucky. They edit the show to death to include baloney.

Why are the producers of the show playing it like this? It is unnerving to say the least.

I know they are lying with this one. I wonder what really happened?

Maybe with the way Dan's friend has been eating at home, the show felt like they would just be enabling him. The way he eats whn here isn't a temptation is crazy...plus it's called a temptation for a reason!! this would just be considered SNACKTIME for Dan's friend!

Dan really looked sad. In previous episodes he had a spark about him, but this last show he just looked sad.

I imagine he was in alot of pain. He has a hard time walking, imagine all that excerise.

On the BLC site they have blog videos the contestants do each week. On this weeks video of Dan he spoke for over a minute baout how tired and exhausted he was... and his blog was just over a minute. He looked tired too! There was no smile on that boy's face!

Ok I rewatchd the whole tempation thing again. Mandy winer, in her defense most of the time nobody eats anything so she thought she was ok & had a good shot at winning. But she didn't & this whole about her derserving to see her kids & stuff she is not the first person at the ranch who has kids & maybe she should have thought about that before she even started. I just had to get that off my chest.;)

I think Joelle was in shock, that Carla ate all that & she was thinking to herself holy crap, now everyone is really gonna hate me. So when other players were saying that she was celebrating, I don't think so, The looks on her face were shock.

The Dan thing is bugging me too.

So maybe we are looking at some psychological issues with him? He is looking depressed. That could explain it.

And I am sure he is in alot of pain, poor kid. I really hope that he can get some real help on BL.:guilty:

She probably did it just to check up on Joelle and it's probably good that she did. I think Joelle has some serious emotional issues.
