Biggest Loser 2009 - Couples 2

All I can think is if Joelle keeps falling below the yellow line Jillians team can just pick off Bobs team one by one. JMO

Yep, MTE!!!!!::yes::

Even thought they did not show Dan, I am still rooting for him.

I also like Brown and Green. Yea, she has attitude however it is positive attitude of past shows. Winning and weight loss.

I wonder if she has one of the issues that girls have had in the past that kept them from losing the weight as quickly. I know she isn't working as hard as the others but when you consider how little (relatively speaking) she has lost and she is doing some work - I am sure she is very sedentary at home - I would think she would have still lost a little more.

Maybe it's the McDonald's food.... (Did anyone else catch that comment?)

I'm confused on the team thing. I understand that only one team can win. I don't understand why Bob & Jillian both have teams though. Is there a reason to vote for one team or the other? Will everyone on the winning trainer's team get something in the end?

No. Only one person will win, not team.

The reason to vote for one team over another is that you form alliances to keep your team from being voted off.

So you are trying to reduce the other team. If it comes down to both teams being under the yellow line then the team with the most people are going to vote off their opposition.

Actually one person can win. Near the end they are no longer weighted as a team but individually. Only one person goes home with the $250,000. but they also have a prize for the one that went home and lost the most percentage and they get $100,000.

They had always broke them down into teams. On one show they sent people home so they thought but made up a whole another team with a trainer.

I think it is a competition thing, makes them work harder and one trainer couldn't possibly help them all.

I knew Joelle was staying on as one of the commercial breaks said wait to you see the shocking elimination. If Joelle had gone home, it wouldn't have been shocking. I wonder if Bob's team will be pissed that they didn't vote Joelle off.

Regardless of the reasons they stated, I think they kept Joelle on as she isn't a big threat.

I'm starting to wonder how much of this show is staged/real. Like I was even at the point when the girl in yellow broke down on the treadmill, that that could have been staged to some extent for drama too.

I think it is editing. They probably take a ton of footage and then put it together so it appears one way, you know?

I wish they would explain why Dan was not there for the temptation portion. That was very odd to me.

I think that elimination is not between Dan and the brown boy, but maybe competition. It seems weird that they would show the end like that.
I also thought it was poor planning to keep Joelle since Carla weighs so much and for the simple reason of her wasting everyone else's time at the ranch.

I thought last night's show was hilarious. Joelle looked so ticked off that she had to stay on the show. DH and I couldn't stop laughing.:thumbsup2

Anybody know why DAN (orange) did not participate in the temptation thsi week? HE clearly was not there and they did not show him or his at home buddy discussing what they did or did not eat.

I didn't even notice that he wasn't there. :guilty:

My daughter noticed that as well. Because you know for sure that Dan's partner would have eaten since they showed him chowing down at a buffet with some fried chicken. Doesnt look like he is learning anything.
That was weird that they didnt even say why he wasnt participating in the challenge.

On the NBC Biggest Loser board, they are speculating that either:

Dan had an injury, and couldn't participate in the temptation

Dan has a food allergy to something that was in the room, and couldn't participate in the temptation

Dan doesn't have a home (?had not heard this?) to go home to, if his team won the temptation

Right now NBC/The Biggest Loser isn't saying - which makes it that much stranger.

And I had to LOL at the PP that stated Joelle looked disappointed that she won the vote and gets to stay on campus another week :)

The game playing is on, and that's all there really is to say. Jillian's team wanted Bob's team to believe they respected their wishes, but in the end they voted to keep the person making the most trouble within the team and they voted off the bigger threat.

It's not that I don't like Joelle, but she has serious issues. It's not her physical abilities that are stopping her, it's her mental abilities. She doesn't believe she can do it. She obviously needs a lot of therapy. Yelling obviously is not helping her. It's very frustrating because I think she has thrown in the towel before she ever began, which makes me believe she is not going to ever succeed. She'll be one of those few who shows up at the finale weighing more then she did when she left the ranch, or weighing the same as when she left the ranch.

I do not blame Carla for being mad. It seems like she really does want to change her life, and being the biggest woman on the show's history, she HAS TO change her life. Maybe she overdid it with Joelle, but I can only imagine how mad and frustrated I would be knowing Joelle has every advantage being at the ranch, and here I was at home having to do it all on my own.

I wanted Kristen to win the challenge so bad. She was working so hard and Tara had won the week before.

I had hoped they'd send Joelle home and have a twist: bring Carla back. I don't think Joelle is really in the mindset to do this -- Carla must have been the driving force to join BL this year ... Joelle had totally closed down by the time Bob was dishing out salad in Detroit ....

My DD made the comment that while Joelle didn't eat the donut, she bet she licked the bottom of it! :rotfl2: We can laugh because we started back on the First Phase of South Beach a week ago (we had a hiatus over Christmas ...) :thumbsup2

Game play for Joelle to stay makes sense. You figure if she keeps on as she has been, she's going to be 1 of the 2 below the yellow line, keeping you safe another week.

I agree with burberryplaid, Joelle doesn't think she can do it. I can relate not putting my "all" into exercising.
I still think they are behaving better than last season. It wasn't Joelle's fault yellow didn't get to go home, she could be happy to go home if she wanted.

This is what I thought too.

They have never told us who will be the bottom two before, but it looks like Dan is in the bottom again.

But I did see their team mates come back. His friend might have pulled him down. He was still eating fried chicken for pete sake!!!

Poor Dan...he is working his tail off. His partner just doesn't seem to be.

I felt the same way even when Dave was saying Dan really needed this opportunity he didn't stop eating the junk.

I saw that too...I think she was hoping to have somebody/something else to blame for her not being on the ranch...she just doesn't want be there but doesn't want to admit it.
