What has been your biggest challenge during this BL challenge? How have you handled it? Do you think you have been successful?
Work stress has been my worst stress this year. Some of the docs cutting their hours in our unit and our census being down, but 2 of our nurses left to go work at their outpt clinic, so that helped some of the stress of our hours being cut, and also the imminent hospital merger/buyout which is still in the process, but supposedly a plan will be in place some time this summer. I think I've been a 5 on a 1-10 scale in handling it. The stress/emotional eating, counteracts the regular exercise, which i've been good about, but I have not been sticking to my ww plan faithfully all.
Kathy--I really related to what you said yesterday. I definitely think I have a fear of success. And in retrospect I wasn't really living the life I wanted to live when I was carrying around all those extra pounds. I think that's why I am so afraid sometimes of regaining. Anyhow, I am glad you are still here.
Thank you Rose. I am glad I am still here, and very glad you are too. I am so inspired by all you have dealt with, and how successful you are.
--At my house we say hooray for Pooh a lot. It's not a weight reference, just something we started saying. Don't know why we got stuck on that, but I said it a lot every time I could eek out another painful mile training for this last 1/2. Anyhow, Mike sent me a text at like mile 10 after he was finished that said---keep running Pooh. First I thought it was that a weight reference. Why do I always go there?

Then I realized what he was saying and I just started crying. I couldn't text him back cause I thought I would really lose it. Anyhow, if I say hooray for Pooh--it's a good thing.

I do love Piglet.
Hooray for Pooh and you!! Great story.
I'll catch up later, but for now I need to say:
I did it!!!!!!!!!
After 3 months of training, I did my first 5K in 20+ years! I finished in 43:32 (14:03 pace!)! I didn't think I would do this well, I am so painfully slow. I'll try to do a race report later.
For now I am just so happy to finally do a race!!!!!!
Yay!!!

Congratulations!! I think 43 minutes is pretty fast for your first 5k in 20 years!!! Congratulations!! I am very turtle-y too, but we are getting out there, and doing our bodies good, and should be proud of that. You are on your way to that Tinkerbell half!!!!
Everything is packed and suitcases are at the front door!

Don't have anything to do tomorrow other then online check in for our flight. Oh, Alan needs to run and get Lizzy dog food (forgot to do it last night) but other then that just kicking back relaxing. We'll more then likely just do sandwiches for dinner tomorrow night. I don't want to eat anything heavy and then go to bed. I don't want to chance waking up feeling like crud.
Whooo hoo!! Have a fabulous trip!! Can't wait to hear all about it.

Silly question, but, do your clothes fit?
I have clothes to wear not that do fit, though I do have the next size down that don't fit to work toward. Though funny, I had to go to a wake the other day, and I don't have many clothes other than scrubs and jeans, so it was rainy, so I wore my black pants that I can't even zip under my rain jacket. My scrubs fit well, a little loose, but the next size down, is still too tight. I had gone from Lg to med scrubs when I was in the 180s a few years ago, and then gradually put on 10 pounds over a year so they were tight, and when my mom got sick 2 years ago, I started putting on a little more weight, and broke down and went back into the larges, and remain there. The larges got tight when I was up to 229, and when I couldnt breath when I bent down, was one of my ah ha moments that I needed to do something. For scrubs, I can gain or lose 40 pounds before changing sizes. Not really a good thing, but much more affordablle than having to change sizes in business clothes.
My biggest Challenge has been getting back on track after 2 half marathons. I think I've done ok -- I would have liked to have been more "on" quicker, but it's been a learning process for me. I actually had a loss after the 2nd trip to WDW, so that was a real breakthrough for me. I learned I could have a wonderful time, some treats, and still be true to my goals.

You were amazing to come back with a loss after the princess weekend.
Super quick update on me -- I hit everyone one of my planned workouts last week for 22 miles, I am so pleased! I had a slight gain at WW -- but I'm not upset. I usually gain 3-4 lbs with TOM, so under a half is a victory! I've also been doing a good job with food, and I'm excited for the coming week. I had so much stress at work, but I've been avoiding stress eating by focusing on eating as fuel.
Fabulous job on the exercise Maria!! You are so on this spring. So happy things are going well for you.

Then we went with my family to the Penn National Horse Track. Yep you read that right I took my kids to the horse races.

They loved watching the horses get ready and then they picked what number they wanted to win and cheered for them. Now nick wants to be a horse jockey and Ryan wants to own a race horse.

We laugh because Ryan is always the one sitting back and relaxing while he makes his younger brother do all the work so when they told us their dreams we laughed.

glad to hear I'm in good company. I'm on call today, so michael and I will head to the convenience store to pick up our lottery tickets this afternoon.

Oh and yesterday Ryan wanted to go running with me. We did 1.5miles and he kept up pretty well. He wants to do a 5K with me and I was thinking of having him do the tunnel to towers 5K in NYC. My friend was talking about having her daughter go who is the same age. So I am going to have him run with my more often to get him "trained". I actually really enjoyed the time together with him..
That will be so fun to run a race with him. It is amazing how fast he'll train too if he sets his mind to it. Ah, to be young again.
Lisah- Hope your long run went well this weekend!
Tracey- Thinking of you.
Good morning everyone! Hope you're all enjoying your weekends.
We had a nice saturday, baseball game, I ran/wallked 6.5 miles with my friend and michael hung with her kids in the afternooon. Then I cut the lawn, and we went to the batting cages and drivng range and got ice cream.
It's looking like a rainsoaked week here. Supposed to have a makeup game tonight, but I think it will be cancelled, which works out well since i'm on call.
I was reading the Help, and couldn't put it down last night, and I just finished it this morning. What a great book.
I didn't journal my food yesterday, but am today. I'm on call, but hoping the phone doesn't ring, so we're just hanging out at home where there's plenty to do, if I just get up off the couch.
I guess I'll hop in the shower and start being a little productive. Not too much though, it is sunday a day for rest.
Enjoy the day!!
