Biggest Loser 11 Spring Team Challenge--for Losers and Maintainers

Saturday 4/23/11 QOTD

What is your favorite Easter or Springtime traditions?

My favorite springtime tradition is going to see the Cherry Blossoms in Washington, DC. When the girls were little, we always went to Disney for Easter. But, now that they are grown, we don't have to do those crowds anymore - if we don't want to.

Morning All!

I've been so busy lately that I've went MIA here. So sorry.

I am feeling much better. On Thursday, I drank a bottle of Powerade Zero (loved it!) and the Gatorade with protein, which is only 3 points. Those were much better choices. Yesterday, I drank electrolyte-enhanced water and that worked well too. That's my plan for today too. I'll know on Tuesday when I can stop drinking electroyltes, but the water is fine, just expensive. It's actually no more expensive that Gatorade or Powerade, but still, regular water is almost free.

My dad and I spent so much time in CVS last playing the EB. I had loads of coupons, but felt like I couldn't find anything. My sister's is all set, and so is my father's and mine, but my mom's and BIL's could use some help. It's raining here today, so maybe I'll go shopping.

Then, I pointed out to my father that we are going to have to go through this again for Mother's Day and we just :rolleyes1. Maybe I'll get her another gift certificate for Disney. I worked so much OT one week that I got her one for her b-day gift. I insisted I was going to pay for their anniversary dinner and now I am. But, we are going to Le Cellier for dinner and that may not cover it completely, so more couldn't hurt. Plus, I've worked more OT since then. I think they want to buy a bottle of wine and do the 3-course thing. We never eat like that, but we've never celebrated anything in Disney before, so this is very special. My mom really wanted to eat in WS, but didn't want this or that, and the LC menu appealed to her, so that is where we finally decided on-I won't tell you how long that took. ;) The new menu looks good too and one of my sister's co-workers just ate there and raved about it, so we are feeling optimistic about our choice.

I also really want to pre-order a Photopass CD. My BIL hasn't been to Disney since before HS opened, so this is pretty much new to him. My sister and I are so excited to show him the magic and I want my sister and BIL to enjoy every minute of their first trip to WDW together. I feel like having Photopass paid for will make it more special to them. I'm really accruing the OT, so I feel like this is manageable too. This week was 3 hours and this week coming up could be another 3 or more. We are so busy that we jump out of our seats when the bell rings for lunch. It seems like we just had morning break. Then when the 3:30 bell rings to go home, we just laugh. No one can fathom the idea of leaving then. I only left then on Thursday because I had to be someplace an hour away in an hour.

I am sorry about the ramble. I'm just a bit ;) excited about our trip. I realized this morning that if I lose 2 lbs a week every week until the trip I'll be at about 130! That would be about 1 pound from a healthy BMI! I can definitely do this.

Well, it's time to start the day off well and finally eat breakfast. Hope everyone has a great day, and if you celebrate, have a great holiday!

QOTD: My mom makes lasagna!

WHew! I went back to sleep until 8:45!!!! Thank goodness soccer was canceled!

It's raining and SLEETING here! I had to run to the grocery store which was quite busy but still got in and out pretty fast! I needed more eggs, margarita mix, milk, honey glazed carrots, trash bags and oj! ALso ran to the toy store to get Izzie little Lego people that she's been talking about non-stop since last time we were in there!

Had my shake and grabbed a LUNA bar to have between clients. The rest of the family is eating their breakfast now. Brian is boiling eggs for us to paint later. I may make some deviled eggs to have tomorrow. Going to make chocolate chip coffee cake to have tomorrow for breakfast since we have to be at church early. No time to cook in the morning.

Company is coming at 6:30 and bringing pizza and ribs. I'm making the spicy chicken dip and drinks! We'll watch the hockey game and then the Dr. Who pre-show and then the episode! Kids will be tired since they get to stay up late!

Gotta get my water ready to take to work and my cup of tea.

TTFN :tigger:

Glad you are feeling better CC. When is your trip??? Sounds like you will have such a great time. All those OT hours are really paying off.

Sounds like a fun evening.

QOTD- My favorite tradition is our family easter egg hunt. My mom and aunt started it for me and my cousins when we were little. You each get a color of eggs to find. Once you find them all you trade them in for a bag of prizes. The prizes changed as we got older. Once we all were high school age or older we each got clues on where we could find our special egg. They were usually really hard and then once you found it there was money inside.

Now they do this for our kids. Since they are between the ages of 3 and 8 it is alot of fun. Then they still have an adult "kids" hunt. It is one large golden egg for everyone to search for.....whoever finds it gets 20$ so we all go crazy looking for it and it usually ends up in a few laughs.

We went out for breakfast this morning and then stopped at one of our older malls here. The easter bunny was there and you could get pics for 5$. Remember the old polaroid pics that they put into the card for you. I was excited because I just cant see spending 20+ dollars on pictures with the easter bunny. I am just fine doing it the old fashioned way. The boys wouldnt sit on its lap and nick wouldnt stand right next to it so we have a pic of the easter bunny with ryan next to him and nick on the other side of ryan.:lmao: Good enough.:thumbsup2 Considering they are 4 and 6 and this is the first picture with the bunny we are making progress. Other years they just screamed and cried to even get in line.:rotfl2:

Now I am just relaxing and hanging with the boys until I have to get ready to go to the bday party later. Its still raining outside so its a good day to lounge around.

Good morning. I loved the scale this morning. Yesterday I had regained a few lbs, but it dropped 4 lbs overnight :cool1: I'm average a 1 lbs per day loss which is about what I lost the first time we did it. I feel so empowered. I don't even want to cheat and feel full. I've already thought about trouble spots for the weekend and have a plan. Tonight we are taking my parents out for their 45th Wedding Anniversary. The family wants to go to the restaurant that I work at. I already know what I can eat so no problems there. Tomorrow we will have a big lunch for the 11 of us. Mom is making Ham, Potatoes, dessert. We can eat the ham. I'll make green beans and brocolli for veggies (both atkins friendly) I'll also get some cottage cheese and I'll make some fried eggs for Chris and I. We can still enjoy Easter dinner, just a bit modified, but still enjoyable. I'm going to wait until tomorrow for my official weigh in, but I am so happy to finally be heading in the right direction. I also went to GNC and got Chris and I some heavy duty vitamin packs to make sure that we're not lacking anything in the process.

:wave2: Busy day today-- we are going to do a bunch of spring cleaning. My kids are pulling every stitch of clothing our of their rooms and we are going through it. We already have about 6 big bags to get rid of. I have a lady I met on freecycle that I give all our old clothes to. Her daughter is a few years younger but she grows into it. They have a farm and a house in the city and the kids go to the grandparents so she likes having all the extra clothes so she can split them up among locations.

Making Grilled Cheese for lunch. DD and DH had to run and get cheese though so I am just waiting for them to get back.

Maybe there is more to the story that she is not relaying and it is something thier french teacher set up for them to learn the language or have a french dinner but still its odd that the teacher would not be there. Anyway good luck with the weekend. I hope her teenage hormones have calmed down by now.:lmao:
She is in a a better mood today. A big part of her crankiness is because of the website being down. I thought for sure it would be back up today but it is still down.

After more interrogation it sounds like the party may be a French Club activity with a French Movie and French foods, and I am sure the hosts are probably lovely people but there is still no way in heck she is going if her teacher won't be there. The fact that she waited to even mention it until after her teacher had left for vacation was just stupid on her part and I can't believe she thought that having some stranger's name and address on a piece of notebook paper would be all I would need to agree. She would have had a little better chance if she had said "Mom, there is a French Club party that my teacher set up blah blah blah." Instead I basically got "Can I go to a party at a French Guy's house?" The fact that I had to drag the information out of her didn't help either.

What is your favorite Easter or Springtime traditions?
We really don't have any traditions. About the only thing we ever did was the Easter Bunny visit and lots of candy. I definitely still enjoy that!

!

I am really glad that you found some you liked and that can fit into your plan.

The cheese is here so have to run. After lunch we hit the attics!

What is your favorite Easter or Springtime traditions?
I love to dye and decorate eggs every easter with michael. We did it last night and our kit came with foil that you rub the egg with glue, and then rub the foil paper on to make it glittery, but we ended up breaking most of the shells and had more foil on our hands than the eggs.
The past 2 years for mothers day we've driven up to Wells Maine to visit with my brother and his family from western mass for the day. They stay the whole weekend in a hotel right on the beach, and have always invited us along, but we usually just to a day trip, but this year we're going to stay the saturday night, so I hope that will become a new tradition.

My favorite springtime tradition is going to see the Cherry Blossoms in Washington, DC. When the girls were little, we always went to Disney for Easter. But, now that they are grown, we don't have to do those crowds anymore - if we don't want to.
This looks so beautiful. I'd love to go during cherry blossom season, when we go.

Glad you are feeling better, and found a drink that's tasty too. It might be expensive, but you are worth it. I love reading all about your disney plans. You're doing fabulous with the weightloss too. That's a great goal, and disney as a motivator is a huge help. Good luck!!
Company is coming at 6:30 and bringing pizza and ribs. I'm making the spicy chicken dip and drinks! We'll watch the hockey game and then the Dr. Who pre-show and then the episode! Kids will be tired since they get to stay up late!
My sister is bringing her buffalo chicken dip tomorrow, and it is soooo good, but I'm planning to have just 2 chips with it, and then move over to the fruit platter I'm bringing. Sounds like you have a fun night planned.

Then they still have an adult "kids" hunt. It is one large golden egg for everyone to search for.....whoever finds it gets 20$ so we all go crazy looking for it and it usually ends up in a few laughs.

I remember those old polaroid pics. Too funny about the boys and the bunny. At least you got both of them in the pic with the bunny. He is pretty frightening. :rotfl2: Sounds like a fun and relaxing day.
Have fun at the party tonight.
I love the idea of the adult egg hunt. Sounds like a lot of fun.

Awesome loss!! Enjoy every minute of your weekend off, Deb. You deserve it. You work so hard.

Evening/Morning Teams! ::MickeyMo :donald:

It's after midnight here and I'm still up. I didn't get anything accomplished today. I just took it easy. Tomorrow is our Grand Opening for the shop so Alan will be busy til early afternoon. I'm going to stay home and get some things done around the house. I think I might see if he wants to go see a movie tomorrow. I also need to decide if I'm going to make something for an Easter get together or if I'm just going to go pick something up from Wally World. I can't wait to see my mom who flies in Sunday night! :)

Everyone have a great weekend!
Congrats on the grand opening, and good luck!!

At this point DH and I both started :lmao::rotfl2: because it was so absurd

Now granted, we aren't big on sensitivity so laughing was probably not the best thing to do, but REALLY? She thought we would say yes to this?

And her favorite website has been affected by the Amazon Server crash and been unavailable, but she managed to get a pretty bad virus on her computer anyway so it is unusable. It is going to be a very LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG weekend. :headache:
This story had me laughing, but also grateful I have a boy. :rotfl: I love that you laughed, and think I would be the same way. Hope the weekend is going better than the start of it.

Just got home from the movies and saw a good show. I am amazed how the photographers captured such great shots. And poor Fang got dissed.
Glad you enjoyed it. I just watched Oceans on netflix and loved it.

I did get productive, and finished organizing all our clothes. If I ever say I'm going shopping for something for ds, stop me. I had a bunch of handme downs from my sisters sil, and he has so many clothes that will probably last the next 3 years. Nice things, too. Abercrombie, hollister, polo. I was shocked going through the bags, because this woman has 3 kids, and is often complaining about the lack of funds, and there must have been 6 pairs of abercrombie jeans in size 14. Maybe she got some good deals.

I'm still journalling my food. Made a big fruit salad for here for the weekend, and tomorrow will have bacon and eggs for breakfast with cinnamon buns. I am going to try to stay in control tomorrow, and go to my sisters with a plan. I slacked on the exercise this week, but am sure getting back to the work/school routine, I will be back on track.

Happy Easter weekend to all who celebrate, and a happy fun weekend to everyone.:daisy:

I think we had more of the decorations on our hands than on the eggs too. I always manage to crack some eggs before even getting them out of the pot. It is alot of fun and these the memories that will make us smile when we are old and are kids are grown.:goodvibes

Your mothers day trip sounds like it will be fun and what a great tradition to start.

I just got done feeding the boys grilled cheese sandwiches. I burned the first batch because I got preoccupied on the phone with my best friend who is planning their family disney trip for oct. She was asking me good places to take the kids to eat. That sort of got me distracted.:rolleyes1 Talking to her has me excited to plan our next family trip. It may not be for the next 2 or 3 years but its never too early to plan right.;)

Hello BL friends:cool1: I haven't been on since Wednesday so wanted to check in quickly and wish everyone a Happy Easter:goodvibes We are on Spring Break this week. We are at our resort on the coast of North Holland at the North Sea. The town is called Zaandvoort and it is about 30K east of Amsterdam. It's 11:45 pm and everyone else is asleep but me! Enjoying a little alone time!

I had a crazy crazy day Thursday and do not feel like I got as prepared for this trip as I could have. I did a 2 hour "power walk" with my friend, had a couple come and look at our apartment, washed clothes at my neighbor's house-she had gone out of town-talked with my realtor back home about a house we want to rent (brand new house completed in 2008 that has never sold or been lived in!), babysat for my friend's daughter after school, played cards with the neighbors outside and went to the biergarten for a few hours!
While we were sitting at the biergarten at about 9:00 pm, we got a call from some local friends who were in Vienna - they had gotten a call from the Police stating there was a fire at their apt and they had to force their way in! DH went over to get everything sorted as best he could and of course was over there until after midnight. They have some moderate smoke damage that hopefully can be cleaned and fixed.

We ended up leaving much later Friday morning than planned and the drive here took us close to 8 hours instead of the planned 6. I brought lots of drinks and snacks and some sandwich and breakfast stuff but wasn't sure how many meals we would eat in the cottage. We have full kitchen and we are wishing we had brought more food to prepare here. We also forgot some things too = Really stupid things like sunscreen and beach towels! DH even forgot toothpaste and toothbrush! We bought some things at the resort but we need to find a normal priced store soon! I am also wishing we had brought a friend along for DS. I briefly thought about that earlier and didn't want to pay the extra cost but now I think it would have been worth it! There are lots of kids and teens hanging out at the resort and there are alot of activities, water park, bowling, tennis, minin-golf, etc. There's no supervision so we aren't letting DS go off by himself but if he had a friend with him I think I would be OK with that. Today we visited the tulip fields of Keukenhof and the village of Haarlem.(harlem in NYC is named after) Saw some really cool stuff. We have walked on the beach both tonight and Friday night. It has been really warm and sunny! The forecast is the same until rain next Thursday:banana:

Tomorrow we will rent bikes and probably cycle along the boardwalk down by the beach and maybe back to Haarlem, about 6 K away. It's so flat here and there are thousands of people riding bikes everywhere! Hopefully we can find a store open or we will eat PB sandwiches or restaurant for Easter. I did bring candy to put out for DS from the EB! Monday and Tuesday we will go to Amsterdam and not sure what we will do the other days although I have a whole list of places I would like to go explore - Delft, Den Hague, Rotterdam, etc.

Friday morning when I weighed in I recd quite a shock - up almost 4 pounds:scared1: from my lowest on this challenge. I have been playing with fire and not eating well or exercising as much lately. I've been consistently up 2 pounds from my lowest and really just working at maintaining that and been very lucky but the truth is now showing up on the scale. I'm going to have to be as careful as I can this week on vacation. Tonight I read all the posts on here and caught up and feel very motivated.

To those who celebrate it, I hope you have a very Happy Easter!

I will probably get to check back in here later on in the week.

Shawnprincess:

Shawn- have a wonderful time and Happy Easter!!!!

I only have a few minutes. Just got home from the bday party which was really nice. I now have to get our clothes ready for tomorrow and the easter bunny needs to come.

I wanted to get tomorrow's QOTD up because I most likely will not be on here until evening. So have a wonderful Easter everyone!!!!

Sunday 4-24-11 QOTD-

I took a stress reliever class last week and one of the things you should do when stressed is say one positive thing about your day. So what is one/or more positive thing about today.

OMG!!!! This hockey game is intense!!!! (Bruins vs Canadiens)

Just finished watching Dr. Who with our friends! Ate and drank wayyyyy toooo much but will be back on track on Monday! I really need to drink some water now!

Easter Bunny has work to do in a bit. He's just waiting for the kiddies to be asleep. I think Izzie went right to sleep. Ash is another story.

Happy Easter! We have to get up early and be to church early so we need to head to bed soon ourselves!

TTFN :tigger:

We had a lovely night out. Dinner was great and 100% on track :cool1: I did not even lick my fingers when serving the cake which looked fabulous. A moment on the lips a lifetime on the hips...

Now if I can make it through Easter I'm golden.

Deb

Just stopping by to say

Happy Easter everyone

Have a happy and healthy day

Happy Easter everyone!

Just couldn't sleep any more so I got up to check email and take photos of the Easter baskets. Good thing Ash and I had a discussion about the Easter bunny recently as she interrupted him last night. She was way overtired and complaining she didn't feel well. Took some Motrin and I never heard another word. We let them stay up until 10 to watch Dr. Who so they were wiped. I just hope I can get them up this morning and ready for church on time.

Had one rib last night and chips and spicy chicken dip and a few drinks but didn't go over board. I'm really thirsty this morning.

Great Bruins hockey game last night! Very stressful though! Double OT but a WIN is all that mattered! Sox were doing well too when we went to sleep!

Glad to say breakfast is all ready since I made the coffee cake yesterday afternoon. It will make things quicker this morning.

TV is acting up yet again. Picture kept popping on and off.

Time to get more water!

TTFN :tigger:

happy easter everyone!

we had a little egg hunt for thomas in the house and although he didn't quite get it, he enjoyed picking up the eggs and putting them in his mickey mouse easter basket (of course, hehe).

i got him a couple little things like a ball and a $3 toy train from CVS and he is in LOVE with the "goo-goo". it's amazing how something that costs $3 is like the best thing EVER!!!

we are going to go to 8:30 mass and will hopefully get thomas to take an early-ish nap so we can try to get to my aunt's as close to on time as possible at 2pm.

we're planning on telling the family that we're having another baby today too. should be...interesting. i'm not a big "look at me!!" kind of gal so i might just tell one aunt and let her reaction do the telling for everyone else. i'm not the type to make a big deal of the announcement, you know?

anyway, i hope everyone has a lovely day! the sun is ACTUALLY out today!!!

Happy Easter!!!
