I'm back.... but my laptop cord broke last night and I haven't gotten a replacement. So I'm typing fast!!
Again, I'm sorry I didn't have the time to go back and re-reply to the stuff that got lost today. I can't do it all from memory... memory is too old now!
Hi everyone!
I think one of my favorites was the Bozo Show. I watched it every day before school. My siblings and I used to practice for the grand prize game in case we ever got to go to the show
Hey.... I was actually ON the Bozo show when I was about 6!! We went to Worcester for the taping.... we got to go cause a friend's Dad worked for TableTalk pies and they were a sponsor. I even got selected to be on one of those "in-show" commercials! I think it was for Buster Brown shoes! But honestly.... I've always hated clowns... so I'm not sure why I even wanted to attend!!
Okay, I have been totally overwhelmed by the speed of this thread, but have loved reading it from the time it became the master thread. Catching up has taken me every single minute of my "fun computer time" from mid-day yesterday until just now. I think I was about 14 pages behind.
Pam I have thought of your DH so often and was thrilled to read how well he is doing.
I have to keep reminding myself that even if I am not seeing the results on the scale, I should still be happy about what I am seeing - my current jeans are all now too baggie in the back end to wear (they look ridiculous). My sport bras are all a bit loser and my normal bras are on the tightest hook and too loose. I can now get back into the smallest jeans I have ever worn as an adult (a bit of a muffin top but hardly) and all of my pants that havent fit since January 2009 fit again. How the scale can be so uncooperative, I have no idea. LOL!
I'm so glad to see you! I haven't seen any posts from you and I was actually thinking of sending you a PM to see if everything was okay. Sounds like life is super-duper busy for you now.... but I'm pleased to see you've made progress on the scale. DUMP the baggie clothes and GO SHOPPING! At least buy a few new bras!!!
DH is doing really well..... other than a few changes with his physical appearance and his right arm (continues therapy still), he has no other lasting effects from the accident (other than weight loss... and he has continued to lose at a healthy pace... I'm proud of him for that!). Thanks for thinking of us!
Big Congrats to you!!
Well I had some big dental work done this week! An old root canal revision that had some infection in the base. Some of the infected material was pushed ot throught the bottom into my jaw (I think that's what he was saying) and my body can fight it there but not in my tooth. I'm on an antibiotic and have not been able to do any workouts due to the jaw pain. When the blood gets pumping the throbbing starts. Hopefully tonight I can get back at it.
I've had an ok week but not great. Made some good choices at work by saying no to some things but the evening just kill me! The snacking monster and my sweet tooth kick into overdrive! and I'm getting tired of carrots and hummus etc!
I know I will not be in the top 10 list with tomorrow's weigh-in!
My kid had those frosted animal crackers left over from taking snack to school so - I ate them

DOH!
69 days until my Disney trip!!
Dang frosted animal crackers!!

I hope your mouth and jaw can recover quickly..... sounds like it was a big infection!
I"m at 35 days out from my trip..... and I can't wait!!! I"ll tell Mickey hello for you and tell him you'll be visiting soon!
You lucky dog!!!! My favorite show was The Brady Bunch - always wanted to be Marcia's little sister!
QOTD: Would definitely get the park pass! Isn't a day at Disney better than a good day anywhere else?
I think I'm going to have a loss this week (after several weeks with no movement on the scale!)

Lovin' my new Leslie Sansone DVD. It's 5 Day Slim Down - the workouts for each day are only about 20 mins. (if you warm up and cool down) - perfect for me for now. If I try to take on too much, I get discouraged when I "mess up" and throw in the towel. But a mile a day makes me feel like I've accomplished something without a big time commitment! Have a great day everyone! Congrats to Dave on the NSV!!!
Glad you are enjoying the WATP videos! I started out doing them nearly every day for many months! I have many of them (including some old VHS workouts that I got at the Goodwill) and I mixed them up a lot. I actually put them away for a long time since I started running last year... but since I haven't been running much lately, I pulled them out again last week.
If you find you still enjoy them but they aren't challenging enough, try adding weights. I do them wearing 5 lb. ankle weights, 1 lb. wrist weights, and a 2 lb weight belt. It really adds to the challenge. Plus, when they use the weighted balls (which I do own), I usually use 3 lb. hand weights instead. And I really push myself to give every step my most.
OW

Hate dental work, hope you feel better soon.
QOTD We are a disneyland/DCA family so I would just spend the day at california adventures. They have the better roller coaster on that side.
I think my kids would really agree with you! When we visited DL and DCA, I think we rode California Screamin' 7 times in one day!! It is a great coaster!!
Tonight is my final weigh-in at Weight Watchers before our vacation to WDW. If I can drop 1.4 pounds then I have reached 45 pounds since I started, which means I get to change the 40 to a 45 on my signature page. If I drop 3 pounds then I am at 250 pounds even and that was my vacation goal when I started Weight Watchers 16 weeks ago. I think I will be in between the two targets and that is just fine with me.
Now I must go and get in my "last chance" workout to guarantee I have done all I could to have a good weigh-in.
See you all in a few hours.
Dave
I"m anxious to hear how it goes with the scale tonight!! I'm sure it will be great, no matter what! You've had such success and worked so hard at this!
***Good Evening friends! As I mentioned, I am working on borrowed time here with my laptop and DD is using the family desktop for her homework.
We are preparing for a snowday here tomorrow.... nothing confirmed from the school system, but we are definitely in the mindset of "no school tomorrow". It will be quite a shock to our systems if we, in fact, have school!!
One comment I made earlier that got deleted I wanted to repeat, cause I'd like some feedback. I'm thinking of trying two weeks of South Beach Diet, Phase 1 to see if I can shake off this final 3-5 pounds that I've been struggling with for a year now. I LOVE WW and will continue to count my points... but I feel like a change in WHAT I eat might help.
I feel like I eat really healthy and most of my carbs are the "right" carbs.... but I'm sure that I could definitely benefit from reducing my carb intake.
I tried Atkins for about 10 days many years ago when DH was doing it and I found it pretty nearly intolerable after those 10 days. But I also felt, all along, that Atkins was NOT healthy... and I still feel that way. It seems like SB is a much healthier way to go if you are trying to reduce carbs.
It would definitely be a BIG change in my eating.... I eat a Sandwich Thin, whole wheat english muffin, or oat bran/flaxseed pita pocket EVERY DAY.... sometimes more than once. Plus, of course, I eat about two servings of fruit every day.... and other high GI vegetables... sweet potato, parsnips, onions, carrots. But for two weeks, I think I could definitely make the change.
Anyone want to comment on this idea??? I know LTS would love to talk about South Beach, but of course, she is gone for the next two weeks..... figures!
Battery is running low! I hope everyone has a GREAT weigh-in tomorrow! I probably won't be on again until the morning, unless I borrow DD's laptop. TTYL......................P
