Biggest Loser 11 Spring Team Challenge--for Losers and Maintainers

Hello Joint Losers Alliance! Happy, Lovely Friday to all. :goodvibes

I'm MissOutandAbout from Team Donald.

LTS has kindly allowed us the use of her moving team:

For some reason, I can't focus on anything when those guys are around.

I'm a 30's something :rolleyes1 SAHM to an almost 4 year old and an adult mom to my chubster -- I mean hubster. He's my dieting partner-in-crime. We've lived in some "exotic" locales and are back in the States again (although he's British, so tainted by me! :darth:) We'll be celebrating our 10 anniversary this year at Disney.

Dieting Wise:
I'm a South Beacher. Started at the end of February with my hubster. We've done the co-dieting thing before successfully back many moons ago. Then baby happened. Then lazy eating and bad habits decided to come back for a visit. We both got tired of being near-physically ill every time we looked at ourselves in the mirror so said, "That's ENOUGH of this junk!" I don't really have a weight goal; I'll just "know it" when I look in the mirror. So far so good, we're just chuggin' along -- down 16 pounds so far. Glad to be here in the big group and nice to "meet" y'all. :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

Hi Everyone!!

I am Nancy from team Mickey. I am SAHM to 3 great kids DS 17, DD15, DD11.
DH and I have been married 21 years.

I turned 45 on Sunday. My goal was to lose 20 pounds when I joined this challenge to go on vacation in June. Then I was doing well, so I hope to lose 20 by my Birthday...while I didn't make it,,,I am Thrilled to report...

I REACHED MY GOAL TODAY...

I LOST 20 Pounds!! :cheer2:

I am so excited. I am so appreciative of all the support on here and am looking forward to the merge!

My new goal is 15 more pounds by June 11!! Which would be a final goal I think!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Wow, I've been so absent from the boards, but thought I'd reintroduce myself...

I'm Patricia; work full time, going to school almost full time too for nursing; have two children still at home (when they are there), dd is 23 and ds is 20. Also have son and dil who live two blocks away with our precious grand daughter Bella who is two and will be a big sister later this summer.

I started WW the very end of December and I've lost 22 pounds so far (been maintaining that within a pound the past two weeks) and hoping it will go down again next week. I've been really trying to be diligent with the program but get out of the habit of recording so don't realize how much I actually ate until i write it down.

I work out a few days a week (need to be more) and am just started up running again for a 10 miler race the first weekend of May.

I'm hoping i'll be thinner and healthier for our DCL cruise on the Dream in September.

Hi Everyone!

I'm Disneywedding2010 from Team Mickey! I'm a 27 year old widow who lost her husband and 2 year old daughter in 2008. I'm currently in a new relationship and am very happy.
My late husband and I's only vacation together was to Disney World in 2007 after his deployment. A few short months later he passed away. A year after their passing I bought into DVC. Now, we go at least twice a year. I love going to relive the memories of my late husband and I's trip. Disney will never get old in my eyes.

6 months after their passing I started my Bachelors. I'm currently in the last 2 weeks of my final class. Then on April 30th I will walk in commencement. However, if the Dallas commencement opens up I'll be walking in Texas vs the 2 day drive to AZ, lol.

Okay, weight loss wise: I was 180 the night of the accident. Being hospitalized and all that I dropped 30 pounds. Hey, not the healthiest way to lose weight but eh it happened. Then I met my wonderful fiance (no, we did not get married on 2010) and I got out of the deep dark hole of grief. Well, now that I'm happy it shows in my waist line :lmao:. I'm struggling with the weight loss but I know slow and steady will win this weight loss journey for me :).

Dona hello! Nice to see you again!
Karliebug congrats on your 25 lbs! I also lost 2.2 lbs this week. I love that number!
Dani Awesome job on the 10, hope the last 3 go fast! I gained 4 lbs on my WDW trip but it was gone within 2 days.
Hey Nancy! I hope you make it to the zoo!

Em congrats on being so close to goal. A normal bmi is a great accomplishment.

LTS you made me :rotfl2: with your s in the wrong place comment! WTG on your twenty!

Sparks19 nice to meet you! I'm sure it will be gone in no time. When I first started it seemed like it was moving so slow, then all of a sudden I was at 25 lbs!

Pamela I found a similar outlook on my C25k training. It was pushing me faster than I wanted and I was dreading it. Now I just run when I feel like it and walk as long as I want. My only goal is to get at least 6 min of running in each time. Eventually I'll get longer runs. Besides, I am also focusing more on HR.

Linda I have the same issue! Mine seems to be related to weather. First nice day & I am outside asap. Cold dreary day? On the couch watching tv. The only thing that saved me was the compulsive calorie counting too. Luckily getting a new gym membership last month pushed me a little.

Beth :cheer2: on your engagement! We are planning our Hawaii trip for early 2013.

Kim Good luck tonight. My church used to do a dinner like that I used to love going. Every one would "get" a country and bring a dish for it & dress up. It was so much fun.
I spent all of February bouncing btw the same 3 pounds. It was frustrating but I reevaluated my calories (& exercise, see above, lol) and it finally started moving. Don't be afraid to go up a pound or two to adjust, it will even out.

Congratulations Nancy on making your goal! party: that is awesome!

Well I did my run at lunch and actually did intervals but only moderately. The first 15 minutes I did 4.6 with a 1% incline, then the next 15 minutes was 4.7 with 0% incline, then 4.6 again with incline, and the last 10 minutes was 4.7 w/o incline. It just seems to make running on a treadmill go a little faster, kwim :3dglasses

Working on my water, had a healthy lunch of Lean Cuisine w/a large salad, yummy.

We don't have much going on this weekend except round 2 of potty training :scared1: :scared: I'm positive this kid fully understands the concept, I just think he's resisting because he can :rolleyes2....suddenly what was one of my strong traits, being independent, is biting me in the butt now via my son :lmao: So we'll see how it goes.

Have a great Friday everyone!

Nicole princess:

Oh I hear you on this one. my daughter is 3 1/2 and is still not potty trained. I KNOW she knows how to do it. she's done it... and very consistently before. then she just decides she doesnt' want to anymore and ... she doesn't.

:dance3::dance3:Congrats on goal:dance3::dance3:

Hi I'm Bungle from team mickey. I'm struggling with my weight loss lately but still hang on to keep myself accountable.

I will say that this week I didn't post a gain though:woohoo:

This is my daughter to a T. The difference is she WAS potty trained and still is at school. At home is the problem.

I am Haley from Team Donald. Actually, I just started the challenge. I am 27 and have two kids, Bridget 3.5 and Bode 1.5. I am a SAHM in NC. I love to sew, knit, talk and take photos. I know that once I am committed to losing weight I can do it. I lost 40 pounds then got pregnant with dd. I am hoping to lose a total of 50 pounds. Since Jan 7 I am down 14! I am doing weight watchers as of 3/2, so that is helping.

Good luck to everyone!

LTS--I am going to go check out your pics when I get done here. And the occasional maintain week is not a bad thing.:goodvibes

I sent my weigh in today. I was down to 226 this morning and I started this challenge a few weeks ago at 233.4 so that's something :)
Congrats on the loss!

Hi P! I have been doing arms at the Y. It's funny, cause I usually go to strength class, but I can't do a lot of the leg stuff right now, so I have started using the free weights--with all the big buff powerlifter dudes. I was REALLY intimidated at first. But now I just go get my 7.5 pound weights and do my little routine. I must say when some of those big guys are there, I look really tiny.:rotfl: Congrats on the loss this week and have fun at Harvard! I posted a link to the white bean "crab" cakes. They had mayo in them, but they were really yummy!:goodvibes

Hi Linda! I get my motivation to exercise from everyone else as well!

I also am a huge baseball fan...I have been listening to spring training games on the radio over my lunch breaks for the last couple of weeks! For a few years some friends and I travelled around and saw opening day games in different parks. I have been to see the Angels, the Rangers and the White Sox on opening day and have been to 23 different stadiums for major league games.

Have an awesome day everyone!

beth
Congratulations on your engagement! Very cool about visiting all the different stadiums. We have been to 6. And we have AAA minor league season tickets. I do love baseball!

Tonight is a big night for me. :) I am the Chair of the Cultural Showcase at my DDs school.:teacher: It's the event with the highest attendance of the school year.
very fun! I hope it's a great event. Ds's HS had kids from 26 different countries! He loved it.

I lost 15lbs in the first 4 months of my new lifestyle. However, since January I've hit a weight loss plateau, I can't break 187 to save my life. But I just recently bought a Polar watch, which has turned my whole exercise routine upside-down since I thought I was burning more calories than I really was :scared1: So I'm hoping with my new watch and a modified exercise routine I'll end up breaking through this plateau..I haven't given up yet, though it has taken it's toll on me mentally :sad2:
Nicole--I hope you bust throught that plateau soon!

Hi Gina! I've heard competitive cheer keeps you really busy!

Hi Tracey! Have a fabulous weekend! Say his to redwalker!

I'm having a pretty consistent weight loss though. about 2 pounds a week seems to be my average.

I'm excited with this new lifestyle :) glad to be here
I think that's a great loss rate! Very maintainable.

. So far so good, we're just chuggin' along -- down 16 pounds so far. Glad to be here in the big group and nice to "meet" y'all. :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes
16 pounds is great!

I REACHED MY GOAL TODAY...

My new goal is 15 more pounds by June 11!! Which would be a final goal I think!

Great job Nancy! I think 15 pounds by June 11 is doable!

I work out a few days a week (need to be more) and am just started up running again for a 10 miler race the first weekend of May.

I'm hoping i'll be thinner and healthier for our DCL cruise on the Dream in September.
That's exciting! I like 10 miles. Not too long, not too short. :)
I know slow and steady will win this weight loss journey for me :).
That's a great philosophy!:goodvibes

we didn't make it to the zoo today. i was feeling really lazy and couldn't get myself going. instead we took a ride to CVS for a bridal shower card for my cousin and a bday card for my aunt. oh, and i picked up another pregnancy test. you know, just in case the other three i took were broken. :rotfl:

tonight is mommy's night out with the mommy and me class that i teach. i can walk to the bar which is pretty nice. i'm planning on just nursing a beer or two the whole time. hopefully there will be alot of us so nobody will notice i'm not getting drunk! the mozzarella sticks at this place are really calling my name. i SO badly want to skip them but i've been really good this whole week!

you know how they say nothing tastes as good as being thin feels? yeah those people obviously have never tasted these mozzarella sticks!

i'm really enjoying reading everyone's intros! really looking forward to getting to know everyone :)

I will say that this week I didn't post a gain though:woohoo:
Woohoo for no gain, Bungle!

This is my daughter to a T. The difference is she WAS potty trained and still is at school. At home is the problem.

Welcome Haley!

Well, I had an interesting day. I did zumba at the Y--though not very well. I was concentrating so hard on taking it easy on my knee that I was having trouble keeping up. Then I did a quick mile on the elliptical, did my arm weight lifting, did my rehab for my knee, got a quick shower and met some friends for lunch. We don't eat out much since I went g-f, but we do like BJ's and they have a g-f menu. I had a baked potato with tons of yummy veggies and some cheese. It was fabulous!

Then on my way home my car was acting funny so I ran it by the dealer. It's a clutch and it was behaving weird. I guess it was operator error;) cause they could find nothing wrong with it. I think we are going to have to break down and buy a new car. My car is 4 years old with almost 50k miles and Mike's truck has less miles but it's 8 years old and has a lot of issues. We just take too many road trips to not have at least one car under warranty. (My warranty has 300 miles left on it!) Anyhow, that stressed me out a little cause I was on the busiest street in the state and I thought I was going to be stranded!

We have no big plans for the weekend, but I am going to attempt to run tomorrow. Then Monday it's back to the chiropractor for more torture on my poor leg. It is feeling really good, though so it's worth it.

Have a good Friday.:goodvibes

Whether you have been successful so far or not we still have 8 weeks to make something happen.

Thanks Dona I needed that. :goodvibes

Hi all I'm from Team Mickey I'm in my late 50's a mother of 3 adult daughters and wife of my high school sweetheart. I've been a nurse for 35 years
I currently work as a Parish Nurse. I Love to knit, sew, scrap, and all things Disney. Oh and I love my tea ;)

Greetings to all our BL challengers! :goodvibes

I would like to join biggest loser 11 team challenge.

:welcome:

Hi CC! Thanks for being HH coach! :flower3: Don't forget to send in those HH points just cause we are all on the same thread now!

Today is also WIN! reporting. Thanks connie96 for being WIN! coach. If you haven't tried WIN! this is a great time to start because there are still three measurements to turn in (today's, April's and the final numbers) and time to see some results! WIN! is a great way to measure your success besides using the scale. :goodvibes

Kathy, bummer about the internet!

Thanks!:goodvibes I was so frustrated with Mike and Tom last weekend that I deleted their pictures.:rotfl:

Well, did they straighten up after that? ;)

Hi Dona! :wave2:

Hi everyone! Ilost 2.2 pounds at my weight watcher4s weigh in last night so that means I have now lost 25 pond since we started. I am so psyched that I found the support of all of you. I have to go change my weight loss ticker! Excited about the merge and meeting new people. I am 48, a teacher and mom of 3 girls. I need to lose 80 more pounds so I have a long way to go but I am on the journey!

Congratulations on your success so far! You are doing great! :thumbsup2 Don't think about how far you have to go -- enjoy your success.

Hi Dani! Nice to see you! :goodvibes

hi dona! nice to meet you :) AP Calc - that was my favorite subject! i bet you don't hear that often. love math.

Wowza! I had to take business calculus twice in college so I salute you! :worship: Hope the weather improves in your neck of the woods soon. :sunny:

Good Morning! Welcome to everyone from both teams!
I am Kelli and I will be your coach this week! Well, it looks like some of you have already gotten a head start on today's question, lol!

QOTD 3/25/11 Friday
As we start to get to know each other again, please reintroduce yourself and tell us about your journey so far.

Hi Kelli! Thanks for being our coach this week! :flower3:

I'm Lisa and a Team Donald member. I'm married and have an 11 y/o DS. I'm a lawyer and practice with my DH -- it's not for everyone but it works for us (most of the time). ;) I've been on the WISH boards since 2009 and thanks to the support I've received here I have finished every year weighing less than I started. That had not happened for a long time before then. I've lost 49 pounds since I started this journey but gained so much from all of you! :flower3: I'm looking forward to finally getting to ONE-derland by the end of this challenge.

I've picked up the running bug and have the Everest 5K, the DLR 1/2 and the Wine and Dine 1/2 all in my future-

Go, Em, go! :cheer2:

LTS, I love your hair color! Thanks for coaching Team Donald last week! :donald:

sparks19 you are doing great! :thumbsup2

Everytime I hear that you teach AP Calc I get SO intimidated!

:lmao: I'm glad I'm not the only one, Pamela! I used to worry when I would send dona my HH numbers when she was HH coach that I would make an addition error, even though she would have been perfectly nice about it.

And a BIG WOO HOO to you for a great weigh in today! :cool1:

Hello everyone! My name is Linda. I am 44 yo, SAHM. This is my 2nd time participating in BL. I did the summer thread last year for a DIS trip in September. But I quit after we got back, and the weight started creeping back on. Since Jan. 1, 2011 - I have lost 20+ lbs. - only 5 lbs. away from the goal I set for this challenge, but still have 15 lbs. to go to my ultimate goal. I am compulsive about counting calories, but I can't seem to kick my exercise gene into gear!!! That is the inspiration I get on the thread for. I read all the posts about exercising - and know that is what I need to do. I have been hit and miss about exercising this challenge, but I hope by the end to be much more consistent about it. Nice to meet all of you. Have a great day.

Hi Linda! Nice to see you again! :flower3:

Hi Beth hope the snow goes away soon! :goodvibes

I'm going to break up my replies as I'm pretty sure I'm pushing it with the smilie police as it is and the poof fairy tried to delete this post once already.

Well Hello my BL Challenge friends. I'm back. I've been super busy...just like most of you but I've been away from the computer for a few weeks. I'm ready to get reconnected with the DIS BL Challenge and start losing again.:cool1:

Tonight is a big night for me. I am the Chair of the Cultural Showcase at my DDs school. It's the event with the highest attendance of the school year.:woohoo:

Nice to see you again! :flower3: Good luck with your event tonight! :thumbsup2

So today at lunch I'll get in an easy 50 minute run with no intervals just a slight incline at 1%. I figured the way I have my new exercise routines set up for the week, I should probably end the week with an easy jog that won't be too hard on my body.

Hi Nicole! Good job on the new TM regimen. I've read that when you have the TM set to zero it is like you are running downhill to your body so you may want to experiment a bit with that.

Hi Guys my name is Gina and I want to be a loser lol:lmao:!

Don't we all? ;) (except for our maintainers, of course! :goodvibes)

Tracey, enjoy your week-end and tell Redwalker we said "hello!"

So far so good, we're just chuggin' along -- down 16 pounds so far. Glad to be here in the big group and nice to "meet" y'all. :goodvibes

16 pounds is super! :thumbsup2

am Thrilled to report...

I REACHED MY GOAL TODAY...

I LOST 20 Pounds!! :cheer2:

I am so excited. I am so appreciative of all the support on here and am looking forward to the merge!!

:yay: for making your goal for the challenge! Onward and downward! :goodvibes

Wow, I've been so absent from the boards, but thought I'd reintroduce myself...

But you came back at just the right time! :thumbsup2 Nice to see you!

Disneywedding2010, what a horrible time you have live through. I am so sorry for your loss.

Nicole, good luck with the potty training! :thumbsup2 It only seems like it will never take -- hang in there!

Hi I'm Bungle from team mickey. I'm struggling with my weight loss lately but still hang on to keep myself accountable.

I will say that this week I didn't post a gain though:woohoo:

Maintaining is always a winner in my book! :thumbsup2

Nancy, enjoy your evening out! :goodvibes

Rose, have you looked into getting an extended warranty for your car? My Dad worked for Chrysler for years and the factory warranties were a big help to us as we alway buy used and drive them forever. Just an idea. :goodvibes

Hi tea pot! :wave2: Nice to see you! :flower3:

I had a maintain this week but it is not too surprising as I was pretty much in a holding pattern due to leaving for a little spring break vacation tomorrow. I'll keep holding the line and get back on track when I return. I'll be gone for a few days but back to coach on Friday. Have a great week all! :flower3:

Hi all...just a quick post then I need to go read the intros...

I am Julie from Atlanta. Ran the Princess this year and in my pics noticed, Yeah i need to lose some weight...so working on it. This is actually only my 4th week in the challenge. So far so good, 25% of the way there. I have been dealing with a foot issue which is making my exercise challenging...I have plantar faciitis. Mainly doing eliptical and a yoga class at the gym.

I am 46, married for 7 years 2 kids...... with one beautiful princess named Sarah who is 4 and an angel who lives in heaven named Caleb - he would be 6 this year, he was born at 24 weeks and lived 8 days. Premature birth can really suck.

Oh on a postive note, we are headed to WDW May 7th, wahoo! I can't wait to go back. Will be my 3rd time there, been to DL 2 times.

DIS and WISHERs are such great motivators, helped me finish the princess 1/2 with my foot issue so I thought I would join this thread to get rid of the 20lbs I needed to loose.

Have a great weekend.

OH - last week was good, I didn't get all my exercise in with my foot issues and eating good, but not perfect....was afraid to get on scale, but still lost 1/2 lb this week....

Peace to all,

julie

:wave2: Hi everyone!!!
I'm Jude, from Team Donald. My goal is to lose 10 pounds for this challenge, then 10 for the next, then the next. I'm 1 away from meeting this goal but the darn scale just won't budge!!:headache: As soon as I hit that, I'll start a "new" 10 lb goal. I don't know but the big numbers kind of freak me out. It's better for me to try and do this in smaller increments...

I'm 45, have a terrific DH and we'll be married 20 years in October. Also have two wonderful kids, DS15 and DD11. I'm a working mom and am definitely time-challenged. LOL. I always seem to wish for a couple more hours in every day.

I fit into the "fit but chubby" category. I regularly take a boot-camp style class at 5AM 3x a week, plus try to run several times a week. I'm working on adding some more pilates-type classes but my type-A personality really struggles through those. But I know I need it...:confused3 I ran my first half in October and completed the Princess just a few weeks ago (hmmm, anyone notice that the verb "run" didn't appear in the second part of that sentence??! ). I am planning on another half in Sept/Oct and..okay, I'm putting this to paper so that I can try and really hold myself accountable, my goal is between 2:10 and 2:20 finish time. (REALLY want that 2:10 but putting that 20 in there so that I don't freak myself out...:rotfl2:) My biggest issue is grazing. Honestly, I'd eat every minute of the day if it didn't mean I'd be as big as a house.

My schedule is a little crazy so no matter how hard I try, I don't post consistently. :rolleyes1But I try really hard to pop in and at least follow what is going on...

Hi Everyone!!

WOOOHOOOO!!! Way to go!! :cool1:

It's great to see some of you from the fall change, rose, lisa, cc, and I'm looking forward to meeting new people!

I know this is not at all weight-loss related but with a great group out there, I thought I could get some suggestions here.
Are there any big readers out there? I'm borrowing my sisters sony reader for my vacation and am trying to think of some books to download. I loved the twilight series, the shopaholic series, and the harry potter series. I like lighthearted romance or romantic comedies. No "smut" books. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I've been running around like a crazy woman the last 3 days. However, I can officially say I have everything done and in order.

What am I up to you might ask?

Well, I've been stressed to the max between work and school so I've decided to take a mini trip to Disney this weekend with my best friend. Our flight leaves out of Dallas at 620am tomorrow :scared:. So I'm packed, boarding passes printed off and camera battery and IPOD charging. I'm going to hit the shower, grab a bite, and hit the bed. 330am will be here before I know it.

See you all Monday night, not taking the laptop with me :).

Evening!

Glad to see so many of us moving over to the merged thread. A little bit about me...

I'm CC. It's short for Christina, but who has time to type that out? :rotfl2: I've been struggling with my weight on and off since I've been about eight. I'm 26 now. Currently, my weight is doing nothing but going up. I've been bingeing- A LOT. Today was a binge-day though.

My plan for weight loss includes Weight Watchers, frequent trips to the gym, no bingeing, lots of water, and any other exercise I can squeeze in during the day. I plan to wear a pedometer everyday. It doesn't always happen, but that's my goal. Today, I walked over three miles. That's not too bad for having a desk job.

I must be off, lots to do before I hit the pillow. I've been going to work for 6 AM, so I'm in need of sleep.

Have a great weekend everyone!

CC
