I like Chester and Hester too. I understand the theming
I do too.
I don't understand the person chastising Disney for not having an Hispanic theme/princess (of the 50 million, how many are really here. . .legally?. . .but this isn't a place for stupid PC crap)
I was "the person" who posted (& I wasn't "chastising"). The thread topic was "blunder". My take was not PC. My thought was that they're missing out on more business. For Example: The theming of the AKL & to a degree the AK (& all things Lion King) celebrates Africa. Yes it is PC. But it also allows everyone (including African Americans) to enjoy & celebrate all things Africa. And it is good for business.
Also for example: My 6 yo son is Korean & we as a family enjoy & celebrate all things Disney (from the "Mouse" to "Toy Story" to others). But we, as a family enjoy the fact that there is a Mulan character (& Misho & others) for him to celebrate & connect to. (Not for PC reasons, but for selfish reasons) & we spend money supporting this theme.
A couple of folks mentioned the 3 Cabelleros & Emperor's New Groove. (I stand corrected on "latin characters")...
BUT Disney doesn't celebrate these characters much. My point is that this is a marketing blunder....If I was a decision maker at Disney (or stockholder), I would want to seriously tap into this market (more than I had) with a full feature film & a Latin princess...so those folks can celebrate/embrace their heritage more (& spend their money).
AND regarding the question of how many Hispanics in our country are Legal or Illegal. I'm not sure what you are trying to say, but I don't consider it relevant to my comment and consider it off topic.
I loved Pooh as a child, but that ride doesn't touch Mr Toad's Wild Ride
I agree.
Finally, I find it interesting that dozens of posters have responded to this "Disney Blunder" tread. Seldom (hardly ever) do "dozens" of different people from all over the country (world?) agree on anything. But it appears that virtually EVERYONE who posted here ...agreed that they would love to see
Mr. Toad resurrect & that the current version of the
"Stich" ride is disgusting. Maybe someone at Disney will read this.
