Biggest Bang for your Counter Service Buck

Here's another vote for Cosmic Rays. The Chicken and ribs are great options. If you want a cooler option, then do the turkey-bacon wrap. There have been times we have split the meal because it's so filling. I think Cosmic Rays has the best options and abundant space to sit and eat too.

Let's see, I think I'd go with the following:

MK - Pecos Bill's because of their extensive toppings bar. You can put together an awesome Taco Salad or burger.

Epcot - Sunshine Seasons - Great main selections with tons of sides to choose from.

Animal Kingdom - Flame Tree Barbecue....great portion sizes...enough to share in many cases.

DHS - Well.....there are no good options here....blegh....

I'm going next month and with much research and lots of reviews we will be trying to hit these-

AK-
Picnic in the park http://allears.net/din/akpicnic.htm

EP-
Tangerine Cafe http://allears.net/menu/men_tg.htm

HS-
Pizza Planet http://allears.net/menu/men_tspp.htm
Catalina Eddie's http://allears.net/menu/menu_cat.htm

MK-
Tomorrowland Terrace http://allears.net/menu/menu_ttns.htmP
Cosmic Ray's http://allears.net/menu/men_cr.htm

Good luck! Oh and my husband thought I was crazy for planning ahead for counter services till I reminded him that we ate hamburgers almost every day for lunch last time.... Good on you!

Cosmic Ray's in Tomorrowland. The 1/2 chicken w/mashed potatoes & green beans is great and there is alot of food. It also comes with a large drink & dessert. I ate there 3 times during my last trip.

I would vote for Sunshine Seasons, Cosmic Ray's, and Flametree.

good choices :thumbsup2 but last 2 trips waited a really long time in line @ flametree :confused3. Yakatori house is good, not very filling according to my family.;)

best CS food @ MGM is starring rolls imo

columbia harbour house has decent food and relaxing setting upstairs

the foodcourt @ POR Riverside is a cut above most for dinner offerings

Dh and I like Kringla in Norway. You can get a sandwich, salad and dessert for a qs meal. The dessert is fresh and not the pre packaged stuff.

Also we like Sunshine Seasons as it has alot of fresh options.

Oh nooooos Carrie! That's one I was really looking forward to :/

*crossing fingers*

WPE- DTD (our personal favorite)
Cosmic Rays-MK
Pepper Market- I hear is a really good option also.

I also believe Picnic in the Park is no longer available.

Epcot - We really enjoyed Tangerine Cafe in Morocco and Boulangerie Patisserie in France. At Tangerine we had a gyro type sandwich that was great with wonderful baklava for dessert. At Boulangerie we love the ham on a baguette and the Napoleon. Neither are the most expensive, but tasted wonderful.

AK - Flame Tree Barbecue

MK - Pecos Billls. We shared the burger and taco salad. Yumm with the fixings.

DHS - Starring rolls. Turkey sandwich, chips, and butterfinger cupcake filled up three of us and tasted great. DD is sad I can't have some cupcakes shipped to her at school.

Maybe getting OT, but I hadn't heard of Picnic in the Park before and was intrigued so I looked it up a bit. After a cursory check it looks like it has just changed a bit and/or is only offered seasonally.

I found another blog that confirms in Jan of this year it was only the "Grab and Go" option with the sandwich, chips, dessert, and drink. :(

I think I have to second Cosmic Ray's. We got a wrap with chips or apples as a side with a drink for $10 or less. For us it was big enough for two so it's hard to beat $5pp inside the park.
