Is anyone here thinking about becoming a Bix Yellow Box consultant? Or maybe there's already one here? It's a new home party plan from Crayola. It sounds fun, but I'm not sure I want to jump in just yet. :)

do you have a link to a site on it -
I take it that it is a kids thing not a scrap thing right

It's not a scrapbooking thing. It's craft kits. I think they have a clock, a tote bag, a few ceramics that you color with special markers and then bake to set. It isn't really cheap, but it's convenient because you get everything you need to do the project. My DH said it's stuff he wouldn't mind us spending money on because it's (somewhat) creative. If all the husbands feel that way, it should sell pretty well!

The website is www.bigyellowbox.com I am talking to a few people already in it about signing up, as I haven't heard anything from the company directly. I think they're swamped right now!

The only thing I don't see for the parties is some kind of project that you can do there. I have to look into that.

Does it sound like something you'd go to if a friend invited you? I know home party plans can be so annoying!! :teeth:

I went to the website and the products look like they are so much fun to make! I would definately attend a party. My big question is - how much are the products? I never attend Partylite Candle parties anymore because I just can't afford the merchandise. I find it depressing to myself that I don't have the money and I feel like I've wasted the person's time by being there knowing I couldn't afford to be.

Anyway, I don't mean to rain on your parade. I loved the products on the website and think that it would be so much fun to create them!!

Have a great time if you do it!

That's my concern too. :) It would be nice if they had something for $5 but the kits start around $15 and go up to $40 and I think even more. A friend of mine is a Pampered Chef rep & at least they have cheap things like peelers, LOL.

I would definately go -
I agree on the Party Lite stuff - i can afford it but when you KNOW you can go to some discount store and get the same thing for 1/4 of the price it is stupid!

I just went to a Tastefully Simple party last night - now those are fun too - and sheap (although ti can add up - I still dropped almost $50 - lol)

That is so funny I saw this thread. About a two years ago I called the 1-800 number with a crayon question and heard about this. they were just starting and they promised to call me back when and if it every took off. I never heard back from them but I guess it took off! I bookmarked this and hope to have time to read more about it. This would really take off at in my area.

Hi Julianne! I am meeting with someone today to see the products and find out more info.

I think what happened was that they did a sort of test launch a while back but didn't really get their act together until recently. They launched June 14th.

If you'd like to talk to me more, send me a PM or email! After today I should know more and will share the info with you. :)

I'd be interested in the prices on a few things -- if anyone has a catalog, could you please "pm" me???

TIA!
Brenda

Gillian so how did it go. I read up on a little on the web site but it does not tell you to much. Have they launched in all the states yet???

The launch is throughout the country, but not all states have consultants at this time. I'm sure that won't last!

The prices range from $11 to $40. Hosting a party is the best way to get a discount. Some of the kits are good for more than one project.

Gillian lets us know what you decide to do and keep us posted on how it is going. As much as I would love to do this I don't think I could fit another thing on my plate right now.

Julianne, I decided to sign up! I really don't need anything else right now either, but it sounds like fun! I didn't get my kit yet but I've been looking through the online info and they really try to help you out. That's good because I need a lot of instruction, LOL!

I have one copy of the catalog and I've been showing it around. People seem to like the products and think the prices are good (or ok) for what you get.

Now I just have to start finding hostesses! :bounce:
