My children and hubby would like to extend their most heartfelt thanks to the DIS folks who I learned so many great tips from. We used so many on our recent trip. One of the best was the inside line for dole whip. It was so hot and the line was huge and I looked inside and there was no one. It was a thing of beauty. I looked like a genius but I gave credit to the DIS.
We rested in the area across from the Matterhorn behind village haus. That was so nice.
We are at the carnation cafe and watched Main Street go by (deep fried picked were heavenly and the shrimp penne was great).
We are at the cove bar and watched Goofy's just add water and screamin.
We went to Carsland at night for the lighting and to ride RSR. So beautiful at night.
Those are just a few of the many tips we greatly appreciated. So, THAnKs DIS!!!!

So glad you and your family had a great trip! :goodvibes

Could you give me a bit more info on the inside Dole Whips?

We have only begun going to DL as the USAF has moved us to California, but are WDW vets. We have given up on our beloved Dole Whips because every time we pass the place the lines are awful!!

Could you give me a bit more info on the inside Dole Whips?

The Tiki Room's waiting area had a place to line up to buy Dole Whips when we were there in March. Plus the line that is on the main walkway into Adventure Land. The line along the main walkway is always looong!

Check it out the inside line next time you're there.

The inside line is often shorter, but it isn't always faster. Perhaps it is because less attendants work that side. Could be faster, but I stood in line over 20 minutes with only about 5 people in front of me. I don't know why it takes so long to pull soft serve. I think the machines are moody. Still, the inside line is shadier and nicer with the Tiki room courtyard preshow to keep you company. We stood in line every day of our trip for delicious Dole Whips. Sometimes twice a day! Yummy.

Just an update on that inside dole whip line, I've used it before with success but on my last trip 6 months ago the CM told me that line was only for guests going into the tiki room show. So I had to go get in the longer outside line. Maybe just a fluke but be aware.

How could they tell you weren't going in? Sorry, maybe this is obvious, but it seems like every time I've gone there, there's no "line" for the TR other than just guests milling around in the courtyard. Maybe I'm forgetting something, though!

There was two or three people in line on the TR side. I didn't feel like lying about wether or not I was actually going Into the TR or being confrontational so I just did as I was told. Doesn't mean I won't try I again ;)

The lanai is open to all, you don't have to actually be planning to enter the Tiki Room. Not at all. Anyone can enter the lanai to use the Tiki Room-side Dole Whip line. Also, there's no traditional attraction line here, either. There's just an announcement that the next show will start soon and at that point people start congregating around the staircase. Usually, people just hang out wherever they want on the lanai and watch the audio-animatronic pre-show eating their Dole Whips until that announcement is made. (You can feel free to bring your Dole Whip into the Tiki Room if you want, as well.)
